For the first time, there is Medium Hard content in this Game. (Mild Spoiler)

At least in my Opinion.

For context: I played Savage, i played in the Top 100 PvP and i have been here since shortly before Heavensward released. For the longest time FFXIV suffered from one major flaw: It has only two difficulties. Very Easy or Very Hard.

This is the first time i think something has Medium difficulty, sadly its placed wrong.

The third fight of the Cruiserweight class raid is pretty spicy. It is clearable with random people of course but if one or two mess up, you still wipe. I guess its because of how the mechanics are designed. There is barely any group related mechanics and a lot of mechanics one has to play out by themselves. There are a lot of Aoes that hit pretty hard to compensate for the lack of group related mechanics so Healers are not bored.

This specific fight just felt "right" in the spot Medium difficulty Content could be for FFXIV.
Loot could be armors with the same Item levels as the Primal fights which only drop weapons.

This however is just how it felt to me. I am sure there is people that think that it is to easy or even to hard.

Meh, I haven't even had a high enough morale, or reason to even download the patch. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either, unfortunately.

I just plan to stay dead the entire time as I always do my first try on the new raids.

I did them minimum item level:
- Wiped once to the first fight, took nearly an hour.
- Wiped once to the second fight, also took ages.
- Wiped lots of times to the third fight, took about as much prog as an extreme trial might, probably took over an hour.
- Wiped lots to the fourth fight - we virtually could not survive stacks without 8 people. This also seemed true when we later did it synced (so, slightly higher item level).

When all of it was done, we had been there 4-5 hours (including cutscenes).

In my opinion, the fourth fight was the easiest one of all. And that's saying a lot. It's got a lot going on and some catchy mechs, and you've gotta be fast.

The second one is pretty easy if you figure out the tells too, because it's slower than the others, but I didn't figure them all out tbh.

Don't worry though, we'll soon outgear it and then it'll barely hurt. It's scaled for 715 and we get to go all the way to 760.

There is a world where the people the that were gueninely interested by difficulty increase in fights are already gone because of the time it took to react and the whole state of the jobs, and that those fight anger the more casual crowds that stayed, ending alienating another part of their playerbase.

I think this Normal tier was pretty good, I'm looking forward to Savage
I hope Occult Crescent has M7N tier difficulty on the bosses, or higher

After meeting the disco king I felt the strong urge to wash out my brain with gasoline, so I did only the first fight yet.

I can stop any attempt at doing this, since I will be the one that messes up half of the mechanics. And since most of the crude boss emotes stay a mystery to me, I cannot improve, I just keep dying to the same cr*ppy nonsense over and over again.
So without having been there, I guess it will be too hard for me. Oh well...

I thought the fights were way too hard for normal content. I should be able to clear them on the first attempt without ever wiping.

Okay that's a complete lie, I enjoyed them. The fact that each fight took a few attempts to learn definitely makes things more fun for me.

M7 was definitely quite the spectacle with it not being just at static arena. If I have any comments about the fights, it's that M7 and M8 should of been swapped as M8 was kind of underwhelming both design-wise and story-wise

The dungeon, trial, and raid, even in normal were all fun to do.

Commendable respectable.

Also the story was pretty good too. All in all for my first day of 7.2 I quite enjoyed myself. Gonna tackle the EX tomorrow maybe do some unreal. Grind the dungeon for all the gear sets since 725 is pretty decent for all my alts I don't raid with.

SQEX refuses to acknowledge that a "story-based MMO" attracts players with a massive spread in skill. Net result, nobody is happy.

It will remain to be seen how much of the difficulty is people learning mechanics and not being overgeared... But for launch week, they're fun.
