Why I identify 7.2 as being nothing for me to resub for

This post is for Square Enix: (although I guess some commenting is explanation for players)
- My friends still aren't resubbing for it. Don't know why, seems something about OC field is still more what they are after.
- just not interested in MSQ at the moment. (Used to be)
- No one to share perspectives on MSQ with that as far as I know I would relate to or would be interested in someone else's/my perspective.
- no reason/reward for queuing a specific dungeon or a specific trial more than once. (glam no longer relevant to this occasional subber.)
- confident that the dungeon/trial won't have enough challenge to make it worth replaying more than about 2-3 times.
- no reason to grind normal raids. No mount, and the time-gated gear takes longer than I'm planning on being around for. Glam not relevant as my experience is mostly solo now, but with player controlled NPCs.
- I think it's too likely that normal raids will be quite boring and not very replayable. the last normals were highly replayable, they were great, but I thought I was gearing up for something.to come after. but they already said they nerfed these ones before they even came out.
- Extremes are yet again more content with zero rewards for me personally. I love progging Extremes but the 'short fuse' antisocial atmosphere of farm parties is just unpleasant. (I think it's because the grind that's required is too heavy so people get moody. They don't want to be there either). So clear once, again, with no replayability that applies to me. I've spent I think a lot of time in Ex1 2,3, especially helping which is what I enjoy, and nothing to show for it. The novelty has reached its limit I think and it's now a little depressing.
- Savage didn't apply to me never tried savage properly. Tried M1S, stopped after about 3 hours. Truth is I just don't like having to digest whole guides in one go, and the memory game style just isn't my thing, Extremes is about my limit for that style, you can't please everyone. Most of all got a taste of PF from chaotic and that's not a plus for me either. Large factor in what made me unsub the first time.
- not interested in crafting gathering Especially not interested in push one button gathering. I won't be using add-ons so I'm excluded from hoping to be on leaderboard. As far as I'm concerned crafting is all about addons. So new moon thing just doesn't apply to me.

It's worth noting that all of the above can be offset if it's a shared experience. But you just won't, as things are, ever be able to keep the kind of friends I make subbed.( non RP, who prioritise helping others 'over' thier own goals, non high end , casual)

You don't have to digest guides all in one go. You can watch a whole guide to have an idea, then revisit the first few parts of it and focus on those first. Once your prog point is the later mechanics, you can look at the guide on those phases. That's what I did.

For example, when I got to Beat 3 in M2S, I had completely forgotten what the guide said about it and did it completely wrong. My party gave me 2 minutes to watch it quickly, after that I did it flawlessly. Easy clears after that.

My friends are resubbing, I'm interested in the 7.2 story patch, I have people to share my perspectives with, there's a ton of glams this time around I want, the glams on the normal raids look cool, Suzaku was my first ever current extreme clear and the new extreme will tickle my FF9 nostalgia, savage is the content I sub for, and crafting and gathering are getting a mini-game next month.

I took a long break from FF14 to play other games (I just finished Dark Souls trilogy and got monster hunter) and it did wonders for my mood around FF14.

The patch content looks great, it's just unfortunate that it's being drip fed over two months.

I have to admit I have never been more uninterested in an MSQ story than I have been with the 7.0 story and the post patches, right now I am just going through the motions doing the MSQ to go onto the other content and hoping the pivot to next story will be more interesting and 8.0 is a return the quality writing the game has had in the past.

You said you were going to unsub over 2 months ago so I'll believe it when I stop seeing you posting here every day.

Going to be real unless you actually stop giving them money and commit to that unsub CBU3 will not have any reason to change. This goes for everyone that is unhappy. Money talks everyone

7.2 doesn't start for me until two months into it.

I don't know if I'll have the motivation to play much outside of for the first week.

Personally I'm glad of the drip, because my life suddenly got busy and I don't think I could keep up with it if they front-lined it all.

Plus Crescent comes out around the same time as ER: Night-reign...

If anything, the only thing I kind of dislike are the changes to make jobs easier like Black Mage. Makes investing some skill into the game kind of pointless.

Despite your posts it seems like you still want to play the game
so just go out there and make more friends and people you can share the experience with
nothing is going to happen unless you make it happen

Yeah as much as i would like to do the space exploration... even while im surely subbed, idk if i even try. People WILL cheat again, some might not cheat but just take off all day and literally grind 24/7 which most ppl just cant.

I can only repeat what i already said, you cant have that ranked, you need tiers, so theres a cap and cheaters/nolife ppl cant just get 5373567537 points and outmatch any normal player. Its sad they AGAIN havent learned a thing from Ishgard...

My friends have remained subbed, but most of them are still progressing things anyway.

Story I am not the ounce bit interested in. If the story is as bad and disjointed as the 7.1 story then I will be skipping the cutscenes all the way until 8.0 (If the people I play with and myself even tolerate that long). I'm lucky in that I have people to share perspectives on story, but everyone that I do this with also hates the story, currently.

It's pathetic that normal raid releases with gear equivalent item level to crafted.. With crafting have no time-gate on it, whilst the normal raid does. It's utterly pathetic that this system has persisted for so long. Wouldn't be as bad, but crafting is unparalleled levels of accessible these days.

Extreme/Savage content died for me after Eden's Verse.. Maybe the raids have better color scheming and are less horrific in terms of actual accessible (referring to people with color blindness, etc., more than I do with ease of difficulty), but I honestly cannot be bothered to find out.

Crafting/Gathering is probably one of my main activities, but with this it's just so utterly boring.. I'm the target audience for things like expert recipes etc., - But with how far they've gutted the ability system of crafting, it's just an utterly boring game "Let's RNG Stack 5 rapids under Muscle Memory", which is fine, but the only layer of control you have over the RNG is what ability you execute on what material condition, e.g., making use of Pliant, Centered etc., - Abilities that allowed you to effectively mitigate a layer of RNG (e.g., Steady Hand II no longer exist), on top of specialist abilities like HoC. - Maybe I'll try them for the sake of it, but I don't see myself getting interested in it long-term.. At least Ishgard Restoration had the benefit of being novel with the experts at the time.

I am not even sure if I'll grind achievements/relics like I used to in ShB and Endwalker.. This is what I have historically done, and I am around 650 S-Rank hunts away from the Centurio Tiger, which is a mount I've wanted for a long time, but whenever I think about doing these, the overarching thought is always "What's the point, I'm technically not even playing the game for the gameplay or content itself at this point.."

I don't really see myself getting invested in the game content itself as I once did, more-so just the fact it's a common game I share with quite a few friends, and they can at least make it a 'relatively' enjoyable experience. In this sense, when people say that a lot of "people who are subbed aren't subbed for the game itself"... These people aren't really wrong.

I agree. To be clear I was referring to the content itself, like the things to do, not the job changes. The job changes continue to be horrible and inexcusable as they have been the entire expansion.

That's more or less where I'm at. All I'm really looking forward to is week 1 crafting just because I like playing the marketboard. Dunno if I'll commit to it either, but it's something to do. Otherwise, I'll be playing other games mostly now that I finally escaped FRU hell.

Subscription based game

What’s the point of this post, exactly? All it does is confirm that your feedback is based on prejudging content you haven’t even played yet, which makes it pretty much worthless for anyone—including the devs. It also reveals an attitude of wanting the game to fail, rather than engaging with it constructively. If you’re going to critique something, at least wait until you’ve actually experienced it. Otherwise, it just comes across as negativity for the sake of negativity.

Maybe the content isn't for them?

The only content I'm interested in is 2 months from now.

I've logged in once in the past week. And it was for all of 5 minutes. I no longer pay for my sub in 6 month chunks but now am month to month. I still haven't finished the MSQ for 7.1 and have no interest in 7.2 or any other MSQ patches for this expansion. I'm just kind of here but not.

I am so uninterested in the MSQ I haven't done a single post-launch MSQ quest. I completed the story and lost all desire to ever engage with this story going forward. I know I will have to at some point so I can access new content but yeah zero desire. All the new gearsets being unlocked? Hate them, as a healer and caster I hate every single one of them, so the only thing I care about with the part of 7.2 is: more dyeable glam, new cornservant quest, and a better chance to to get the music scrolls from the Jeuno raid.

Post 7.2 has some stuff I look forward to trying but yeah, more waiting. Really happy for everyone else who has something to look forward to today.

I miss some old skills but who knows during the job identity down the road they might re-add them in a more updated form like PLD bulwark

Yeah problem is when they added bulwark they completely ruined everything else about the job's rotation feel still hasn't been reverted. Anyone who actually liked the old multi combo two smaller bursts (phys and magic) gets left with nothing so people who didn't play PLD in the first place can go and say "yay it's like war/drk/gnb now I like it"

It's like saying don't worry we brought back Ice paradox! but everything else is completely different and if you don't like it you'll be told "time to take a break buddy!"

What content? The only thing were getting tomorrow is MSQ (2 hours) and the normal mode raid (1-2 hours). Cosmic is a month out and foray is 2 months out.
