Rival Wings - Premade are just ruining an already dead content

Premades in Front have limited impact since they are capped at four players per team. Even if you queue with more than four friends, it's highly unlikely that you'll end up on the same team or side...

However, in Rival Wings, having just a four-player premade is already a huge advantage. When multiple premades stack on the same side, it completely breaks the balance.

Rival Wings should either prevent queuing with friends, apply the same restrictions as Front (1 to 2 players max per group, meaning half a light party), or at the very least, ensure both teams have an equal number of premades instead of stacking them all on one side.

This mode is already dead for three and a half months every patch, only coming back to life thanks to the Moogle event… I know it is maybe to much asked for such a niche content... But people take advantage of this every Moogle event.

Instead of reviving old Frontline maps, we could have a properly balanced Rival Wings, making it far more engaging. >.> Also yeah i do understand that it need more than that to make it... alive some sort...

EDIT : as an example on how unbalanced is rival wings compared to front... as a "solo" player i have a good ratio 1er / 2nd / 3rd being almost 33%/33%/33% where Rival Wings 20%win / 80%loses

Do feel free to queue with a group of your own, rather than whine about people doing MMO things.

A roulette for the mode and an in-game tutorial for the mode, (although we do our best to point new players towards community guide resources) are both better ideas for improving the quality of Rival Wings. I don't understand the sudden upsurge of people complaining about premades in both Frontlines and now Rival Wings lately. At the end of the day, a 'premade' is just a group of friends queuing up to play the game together, aka the core of what a MMO is about. There is nothing stopping you from forming a group with friends, or even just other Rival Wings players, and doing the same thing. There's even a large discord server with LFG functionality to help facilitate this process, and putting up a party finder is of course an option too.

It's not a new complaint. An effective premade completely changes the nature of a FL match (and apparently RW which I don't play). And the premades being discussed are not "just a group of friends queuing up to play the game together."

Some players like the kind of matches they produce, others do not.

(One of) the "large discord server(s) with LFG functionality" is the main reason I'd never queue in as a light party.

The 7.1 changes diluted the degree to which premades skew game texture. 7.2 looks like the pendulum is going to swing back to pre 7.1.

My guess is the current level of anti-premade sentiment is mild compared to what is going to come in the next few weeks. I've found the easiest solution is simply not to play when I don't enjoy something.

Casual premades (like those just doing roulettes or Frontline for fun) aren’t the issue. The real problem is premade groups that exploit the Moogle event to farm rewards, ultimately ruining the experience for others. The issue isn’t simply queuing with friends—it’s about coordinated teams gaining an unfair advantage while diminishing the experience for everyone else.

Also, it’s Rival Wings that currently grants more Moogle Tomestones for a win than a loss, not Frontline. This imbalance isn’t fair. It generate Money in game and ultimately generate some bad behavior linked to this (AKA people using ACR, mods etc).

The impact of premades in Frontline and Rival Wings isn’t the same, in my opinion, due to differences in party composition and player restrictions. The issue isn’t simply friends queuing together but rather groups optimizing their setup to gain a competitive edge.

In a 1v1 scenario like Rival Wings, premades have a much stronger influence compared to a 1v1v1 format like Frontline, where rewards remain the same (aside from XP). In Frontline, a leading team is far more likely to draw the aggression of the other two teams, which naturally helps maintain some level of balance.

I'm not missing any point, you just don't like what I have to say. If I take you strictly by what you're writing, what you want is skill-based matchmaking. But that's rarely the motive of people trying to target peoples' ability to group up so you're just going to have to forgive me if I come off as combative.

You still missing the point, i am not asking for skill based matchmaking, rather no premade matchmaking. I know it is way to much asked for FFXIV / CBU3 to add a SBMM and i don't really ask this.

If anything I think premades are nerfed during Mogtome events. 4 players setting up a nice pull/guardbreak doesn't really matter if the other 20 mogtomers on your team don't bother hitting their buttons

Mmmm nah. The impact of players on the other teams either hiding behind rocks or failing to defend themselves tends to make the premade do the hot knife and butter thing.

Although it does depend on whether the premade is trying to win the match or simply inflate personal stats.

I realize this can happen through spawn asymmetry, but something I've noticed during the latest mogtome is teams completely dominating the K/A/Dmg stats but losing because stats are more important to them. Confirmed when they discuss the issue in party chat.

How new are you to the game mode ? Or is this bait ? If anything premades have much less of an impact than in FL because of the more objective-focused nature of the mode, and how more explosive it is. You can snipe premades much more easily, and a good cc/bj pilot can carry more than a premade.

I'll tell you what. I've seen plenty of premades just get smashed by teams with more competent solo players. This is NOT FL.

This is absolutely, completely wrong, precisely because of the nature of RW. See message above. And I always play solo.

If you're a good solo player, you can pull your weight easy. And much more than solo in FL by comparison.

Not premades are ruining PvP, Moogle Event PvPers do.
Them should be farmed hard while not knowing how to press their 5 buttons or afking til the end of the match. So please premades go forward to make them peeps cry.
Moogle Event and other things are just making queues faster but they minimize the quality of PvP overall :D
