Does this mean there is a chance we get Geomancer?!

So as you may know we are getting New Final Fantasy V inspired glams coming in the Occult Crescent. You can see some of the glams in this video from the Phookas, taken from the recent live letter: https://youtu.be/eb68M7kEcGM?si=iFsUwTdVHcaFPXrl

My question is, does that mean we will finally get a geomancer outfit from Final Fantasy V too? It's always been my dream to have this outfit in FFXIV.

Rather hard to be excited about them bringing Geomancer or Berserker in when all they boil down to are three actions, half of which are probably something like "1000 potency Cooldown: 60s"

As for glamours, I doubt they're going to make a glam for every phantom job lmao.

They left it open as to whether some of the phantom jobs may become real jobs in the future. Some of the phantom jobs are already playable jobs, like monk.

But I think geomancer as an actual playable job is unlikely considering we know it has no job stones and the AST questline confirmed the job is just a far eastern meld of conjurer and astrologian and the encyclopedia doubled-down on it. The only person in the world who knows how to be a geomancer only unlocked all aspects of it in another job's questline and he casts conjurer spells while geomantic barriers are perfectly integrated with astromancy and it turns out that astromancy is itself the final key to the job.

They kinda wrote themselves into a corner if they wanted to make it an actual thing.

Just play FFXI.
FFXI's GEO is far and away going to be better (and infinitely more impactful) than anything Yoshi could possibly come up with in his rigid design mentality.

FFXI's GEO doesn't have the cute outfits from FFV.

Hopefully they have sets for all the jobs that we don't already have in the game so far. We have seen the FFV inspired Berserker, Cannoneer and Time Mage, so it looks plausible they do it for the others.

Geo in FFXI is a pretty sweet job, but I don't see geo or even time, green or weather mages working here due to us not having buffs and debuffs to maintain outside of dmg up. But in FFXI, with all the buffs and debuffs it can provide, along with healing, Geo is fantastic. Same can be said about rdm, blu, sch, bst, smn, dnc, and brd. They fit amazingly into FFXI compared to here because they are not limited by the very strict and rediculously basic combat design in XIV.

Although I can't help but sing, "Ring by be-el-ell, ring my bell" while casting, which is why I use push-to-talk, no one wants to here me sing lol

I want to hear you sing! Bells as weapons would be pretty awesome in FFXIV but I still would settle for the cute outfit from FFV.

Green Mage probably will never be a proper job in XIV, maybe a Phantom Job at best, because a Job based on buffs and debuffs would likely end up either being too weak to be meaningful or a must have in every raid...

Also, Geomancer because of it's place in AST's story and why it actually belongs there, it's very unlikely to become a Job.

But for the outfit, it will have be to be seen. I hope they do give us outfits for all the Phantom Jobs, maybe even different versions based on all the different characters of FF5.
