In my honest opinion, I don't care.

It's just something reminiscent to XI seems like, and nothing more.

About the same as I feel about Chocobos...

If you mean how it almost looks like the same model? Don't fix whats not broken :p

It's the same design in all 3 games. Please show me otherwise. They added a tail? zomg, the rest is the same! The only difference is the game generation and polycount. While she may not have been complaining, this topic is retarded and my post still stands.

Who's complaining? I honestly didnt know how to feel about seeing this specific content from 11 being thrown in again, so I'm asking the community lol. I know the need to troll is hard to supress for most, but can we try? I expect chocobos and most things in 14 are diffreren't besides the races from 11. Are these things in any other previous FF title?

This is the main difference between the designs -- So it's clearly designed after XI's iteration. It's funny how much of a problem people seem to have with SE's other FF MMO lol. Seriously, she was pointing out a similarity, and all of sudden you go into a nerdrage lol.

I'm sorry, it's just the term copy-paste is normally seen as a negative thing. Still, Atomos looks like Atomos what's the big deal? It isn't FF XI content. It's FF content....

Did you not follow the wiki link? they first appeared in FFV and That design was the same one used in FFIX.

Atomos is so much older than FFXI. Not to mention, the amalgam of lore about Atomos is absolutely perfect for this situation (going forward in time to avoid Dalamud). It's not like this came out of left field (in hindsight, I'll be honest I didn't see it coming).

Well, it does look almost EXACTLY the same as the XI one, with the XIV one having a larger texture and better light mapping.

Like, exactly like XI's.

I don't have a problem with it personally, in fact when I saw that in the patch notes I got really excited

It's not 'nerdrage' it's 'clueless younger gamers rage'. The tail was a minor addition, as the entire rest of the design is the same. I'd be willing to be the original concept art for IX contains the tail but they lopped it off in the game renders for reason related to the system's abilities.

To the OP, it's a nice touch, I don't mind seeing some things from XI, Final Fantasy is a hodge podge of what past titles have brought and some new things as well. It fits in with the time/dimension warp we'll be 'experiencing' as well. :D

As did I, because It fits almost perfectly with what we're hearing about ARR -- Atomos has always been an odd summon and his use was amplified in XI storywise. The last story element prior to it was in FFIX where it just decimated Lindblum.

Thank you ^^. FFIX is a FF game I skipped and I played FF11 for almost 5 years. That link took me to a blank page. Honestly if I had a huge problem with this type of stuff I wouldn't have played 14 as much as I have. When I saw that picture I instantly thought of FF11 because they look exactly the same and it was right around the time I quit was when those things hit FF11.

It's similar to the other Atomoses (Atomosii?) but it's identical to the XI one.

This isn't a bad thing though. It's a homage, same as XI style Goblins.

So a god/eikon gave us echo, and now atomos pops.

Some things may change alot, some things will look the same. Ifrit is pretty similar to alot of iterations, but not exactly.

Concidering the artistic asthetic of FF14, its probably a good look to keep it as they have.If i recall correctly FF10's Ifrit had a more island tribal look. But it fit the Aesthetic.

It also fits Yoshi-P's words of past elements. I don't really mind if they use extreamly similar or very different skins for the same things. My issue will be when they use the same story or situation for the things.

This guy is a floating time-hole (so to speak) But it is being used in a way relevant to FF14's Story. So fine by me ^^

And if they game him feathers, that would be ok too. ^^

Yeah, Goblins and Puddings are almost 1:1 with their XI counterparts and no one had a fit, everyone was generally cool with it.

Just like no one had a fit when Mandragoras looked the same in XII as they did in XI.

Just like no one is having a fit how FFXIV Behemoth looks just like it did in XI.

Just like no one had a fit that Behemoth looked the same in the FFIII DS remake as it did in XI.

The list goes on. This is Final Fantasy.

About every mob that in FFXIV is copy from FFXI version raptors,Gobs the cute little guys from white gate and so on. Not a big deal to copy from there pass game lol at least there not copying wow mobs lol.

It took this long for people to figure out that they reused a lot of the designs from previous games?

So chocobos, goobbues, malboros, bombs, goblins, orobons (though much smaller this time) etc all somehow slipped right by, but now that atomos is here it's all "omg they're reusing the same models!!11!!1!1"?

Edit: raptors, qiqirn are 2 more they used.

Uhhhh... And they use all kinds of shit from all kinds of their past games? Actually, that's kind of why FF is so popular, because EVERY single new installment has nostalgia. Don't like it, GTFO.

Soon Mandragora also. Not to mention all the character races look nearly identical to the XI models. Some people are selectively blind, and really high strung.

As other people have noted, that's what atomos has looked like since before FFXI.

This isn't a big deal- unless you want to complain about cactuars and other classic FF monsters appearing in the game.

While the OP can be entitled to his/her opinion i DONT agree with it.

Despite every final fantasy is unique from each other, they all share some elements.
I am very sure that atomos was NOT intended to be in the game, but given a real reborn and the fact that we will be traveling in time, atomos makes PERFECT SENSE.

I am glad to see some more familiar elements from previos FF titles being implemented on this one
