What do you mean? We currently only have 3 PVP Modes, 2 of which are well populated. You can easily get into CC matches during primetime.
Rival Wings lacks an incentive to be run most of the times, its damn popular during any Mogtome event for all that its worth.
I'm also fairly certain PVP players would love more different game modes, but PVP is not a super strong focus for the devs.
One has a roulette one doesn't.
Players are simple. They see daily roulette they do daily roulette. If no roulette, they don't do it.
most people who enter pvp do not enjoy pvp, they are just there to get the reward so ya on avarage people aren't going to want something new. I mean I would love something like capture the flag and more types of pvp hell I dream of a pvp mode where we have 3 ships and we have a pirate ship battle pvp wise a pvp mode that isnt on land at all
why saying that it comes from playerbase ? when was the last time SE tried something new ?

I don't know who these people in the PvP playerbase are that don't want anything new. And with PvP playerbase I mean people who actively enjoy PvP and play it regularly because it's intrinsically fun (like raiders raid because it's fun).
I think people who only do FL roulettes are not necessarily representative of "the" PvP playerbase because they play for the once-a-day reward and don't actively play more FL, CC or RW matches beyond that for the fun of it.
I can promise you that within this active player pool there are plenty of people who would love something new. Anything new. And we constantly give the dev feedbacks in the PvP sub-forum.
To be fair, sometimes that feedback can be moderately successful (like the devs making much needed adjustment after the 7.1 rework and people participating very, very actively in providing feedback) but in other cases we are completely ignored, e.g. when we suggest new game modes or give ideas for improvements of existing game modes, fight design and/or class design.
So it's notlike we don't want anything new, nor is it like we don't let the devs know we want anything new. Most of the time it just falls on deaf ears.
Exactly. Many PvP enthusiasts have tried RW and concluded it's not very good/gimmicky.
As to putting RW into a PvP roulette, fine provided the map/mode switches more frequently than once a day (say once every 4-6 hours). Many of us already skip one day in three in FL because Shatter is widely disliked.
I'm not interested in the MOBA mode, sorry.
Personally, I quit PvPing because SE said they weren't going to bother dealing with cheaters who use bots. I can't be a part of PvP if people are able to openly cheat with no consequences.
ya that and alot of maps feel like they are pure luck frontlines included, and purely rng based wins invovled which is why i prefer CC myself although its less rewarding its far more enjoyable. I do wish they would do more things like CC like a 2v2 or 3v3 4v4 etc. CC being my favoirt pvp content in the game you cant get a roulett from and its more enjoyable, more fun and if you loose its because you or your team sucks more than the other team and that feels rewarding, that you are winning or loosing by your own ability and not by the map either screwing u over with spawns or you winning due to great spawns that doesnt feel good
What's this bait thread ? Pvp players have been asking for the return of RW for years. It's not run because there's no incentive unlike FL, that is all.
I quit pvping when I started seeing bots under the ground and inside builders killing ones where can't target them or even see them.
Rival Wings is way more fun than Frontline but sadly it doesn't have a roulette associated with it to keep it populated so it's dead outside of Mogtome events. They should just toss it in Frontline roulette and rename it "PvP Roulette" or something.
Ffxiv pvp is currently stale as month old bread. As compared to 2-3.0 pvp, Frontlines is nothing but a cluster $#@ lag fest. Crystal Conflict has its moments, but with clueless teammates, it turns into being chained to the mast of a sinking ship. Yoshi and the devs have pushed the team aspect of pvp to the point it’s just suffocating. It’s like you can’t go to the bathroom with out an assist from 3 people to hold. .
It wasn’t always like this. In 2-3.0, solo kills were so easy. Breaking off from the group to sneak into the enemy camp, steal a flag etc with the possibility of a duel was so exciting. We have absolutely none of that now. Everything’s blindly streamlined, with skills so watered down it’s just disgusting.
I’m guessing Yoshi just got bullied a lot in pvp and he’s just projecting now…I dunno.
I don’t think it’s out of the ordinary for someone who plays a pvp game to mostly just play the mode they like. For example I only enjoy playing 1v1 when playing Smash Bros, it’s a very different game to me than when four players are doing a free for all. And as someone only recently trying FFXIV PVP I’m enjoying CC but not Frontline, and haven’t tried Rival Wings yet.
But what’s your real complaint? Are you needing to wait a long time to get matches for the mode you want to play? In my case I’ve mainly been playing casual CC matches on Aether but am getting matches quickly despite playing late at night.
