Zero gear on FFXIV Store

As the title says, Zeros gear, hairstyle and weapon have been added to the Online store.

Certain people already knew this was going to the store since 7.1 dropped and tbh it took nobody by surprise. What surprises me is people continuing to complain npc gear is on mog store when they never have put it anywhere else

Least they split the hair and outfit this time instead of making it one bundle for $15.

And again Hroth and Vieras are left out on the hat.

While I am for outfits being in the cash shop and I'm also liking how the hair is a separate purchase. Having zero outfit released what feels like "so soon" while the hair right next to it took years is just screaming absolute desperation right now. Still gonna get that hair, but not until I actually have a reason to log in for more than 10 minutes.

Zero surprise here.

Still waiting for that Korean exclusive dress with the horrific clipping to be added.

Ugh, it has her earrings. I don't want to spend $12 for just the earrings. I wish we could buy each piece separately for any glamor set.

Im suprised, not because they added it but the timewindow, i mean i cant remember one instance where square added so much stuff back to back in such a SMALL period of time, 2 months and we have what 6 costumes, 3 hairstyles? i mean even if you remove 2 hairstyles its still 2 months and 6 freaking costumes

I'd be curious to see an overview of when new items are added to the store annually or in relation to patch cycles. Wonder if there's a trend there - maybe they usually add more items to the store near the end of the fiscal year, or after quieter patches.

Interesting! And only a week after the other long requested hair too. Two days after the vinyl set.

I usually don't pay attention to store items but this caught my eye.

Incoming subscription increase if this carries on. /s

Shame all updates on the lodestone center around merch at the moment.

Oh they must really be bleeding out money. I wonder what cash shop item they will release next.

Paying actual real money housing rent for me is fine haha

It's more expensive to buy the entire set however
It's a concern of mine I've had since they released G'raha Tia's outfit
The lack of a bundle option means that anyone that wants her entire kit has to pay a lot more than they used to with previous NPC sets
If they added a bundle option in conjunction with the individual pieces I wouldn't complain too much

I've been watching it for the moogle event for some actual gameplay I enjoy as I adore farming dungeons with a little more incentive.

No wonder people are unsubscribing, each store update, merch like Vinyl and statues are not game updates they are just cash grabs.

Where did Yoshi go wrong in a game that was his legacy - if this keeps up he will only be known for milking his players. Shame.

I've wanted Zero's hairstyle for a while now but it's a little disappointing how the highlights are near inexistent on lighter color hair, you can barely tell there's a hint of color. :<

I wish it had gotten highlights that are more prevalent on the tips, similar to Hilda's, Minfilia or Alisaie's Hairstyles, rather than the very faded Highlights that is similar to the new DT ponytail hairstyle. :<

Gotta love that despite being in the game in some form since 2019, that somehow Viera and Hrothgar are STILL being left out on new hats.

I don't even care if they don't go back and add all the old hats but stop making new gear and leaving them out SE, its pathetic.

Nothing new they've usually put npc hairstyles on the mog station.

Though I don't like most hairstyles in this game because they're either too short or clip with armor so i can never win.

Going to be honest o. O dont care for zero going to be a complete miss getting tired of short hair but eh clipping lol

Not enough. Flood the cash shop with EVERY piece of NPC gear.

It's pretty smart to put this information on the lodestone. Because that's their news section, and they want to alert players that stuff is for sale. Would be strange not to.

He said that one time he walked into a shop and saw WoW merch in it. So he decided he wanted FFXIV to be like that. He wanted to walk into a shop and there be FFXIV merch. He said he doesn't even have to reach out to brands much. Company leaders (fashion brands, peripheral brands, etc) play FFXIV and reach out wanting to collab just because they are fans of the game.

This could've been worthwhile if it separated the feet/arms from the body/legs.

That just feels lazy.

Jeeq, I'm very well aware your a White Knight babe. I lurk on these forums enough to realise you "spread positivity" when in fact your helping the game die.

This is a MMO where things should be played and earned to keep subs rolling. Not bought with credit cards.

This is not a fashion show with statues that cost more than two expansions combined with an emote as a hook.

If they want money, increase the subscription, hire more team members or move some around within square enix and give us some content with actual longevity.

Ff14 failed in 1.0 and 2.0 promised better, it did get better however at this pace where the lodestone is crammed with Vinyl, hair styles and duty commenced with no game updates that arnt substantial. I think it's just a slap in the face to us 1.0 players who put our faith back into the team.

And before you say it.. no an event running around talking to NPCs is not content.

It's just sad at this point.

I don't know if it's just me, but there was more good will in pushing the patch up than there is releasing like 4 or 5 cash shop items while there's nothing to do. I'm just saying.

You're trying to argue with a dude who flat out said that people don't have time to play games because they have to take care of 10 babies, 10 jobs and only have limited time, thats why this kind of lackluster design is good.
If you work 14 hours a day in a coalmine while simultaneously taking care of children, maybe an MMO should not be designed for you, nor should you play one. He's the most confusing white knight on this forum by far.

I agree with this. Instead of bleeding subs they should have looked at the game and thought "wait were not retaining subs"

Instead they are bringing out stuff that people have requested for years and on the store!

I once kept my sub running because I wanted FF14 to thrive even if I wasn't playing. I've cancelled between patches in EW and DT because simply the passion has gone from the team.

Their passion has been replaced by greed and apathy. This is no longer the scrappy company we all rooted for. They over toon Blizzard once and it went to their heads and we've been missing the quailty we had before it for years. It started at the embarrassing EW patches and continued until now. The game is dead. Maybe not population wise, but creatively. The drive is gone.

With SB, I wouldn't have agreed with this but when they started dumbing things down after SB I totally do now.

I'm all for accessibility don't get me wrong but making ot easier for people with less complex rotations (NINs feint in SB) and less customisation (ARRs cross role) just screams to me that they are low staffed and don't want to deal with reports (from ppl who dont play meta) - because low staff.

This is how I sadly see CBU3. They make most jobs the same so ppl don't argue and report eachother - less strain on the team. Lower workers higher profits.

I just want something for the patch lulls, they are lucky with me - I adore dungeons.. infact that's all I do on FF to relax. I do see ppl complaints however.

You're exaggerating. It's not rocket science:

• 8 hours sleeping
• Breakfast, getting ready
• 8 hours (9-5) work or education
• 1 hour? coming home
• 2 hours making dinner~ varies depending if you cook/bake or just microwave
• Maybe 2 hours to game
• Sleep

It's scientifically provable that most people login in the evening. It's also scientifically provable that there are increased logins at the weekend. This is obvious by the increased amounts of PFs at those hours and the increased turnout at hunt trains. Why? Because people are busy exactly as I described. It's a casual game for the majority of players.

Then most people that play now wouldn't play. Because as is easy to prove, most people don't login during the day.

They are called "Business unit" for a reason and here we are....the game has changed so much in the last couple of years for me. I do not mind the odd thing on the store as it has been there a long while and I can afford to buy whatever I want from there, I do feel annoyed some things are not account wide. It is good they did the hair separate now and I am happy with the Hilda hair even though I wish it had been a reward in game.

The game has been going downhill for me lately not much to do but I just long on do a few bits and then log off not how it used to be at all.

The store as of late has a lot of items but I knew they where coming. I am hoping that this lack of effort is maybe something else going on like maybe a remake of FFXI or another MMO but that maybe is wishful thinking.

I do feel the last letter was lacking there was not much at all and it seems as if they have stopped 'caring so adding things to the store to keep players interested.

I agree with you, but I have to point out that this "not showing much in the live letter" has been the usual thing for "Part 1" live letters for a long while now.
I'm huffing that hopium like it's oxygen, waiting, HOPING to be proven wrong and go back to having fun in 7.2. But I'm jaded and tired.
