LEGACY question!

Alright, I have two questions towards this whole legacy event.
I just started my subscription near the first of September, and it says you must pay for atleast 90 days to acquire legacy status. I want to know will I have be able to apply if my 3rd month of subscription starts October first since they have been saying free trial would re-instate early October-November? Also there is supposed to be a Chocobo mount exclusive for legacy members have those already been distributed or are they to be released on 2.0?

From what I recall you needed, as a new account, to have started playing and paying before May 31st or June 30th, and it the cumulative 90 days has to be before beta starts, which the 2 days thrown around are 'Late September, Early October' and 'November'... so there's a good possibility you missed the chance.

The chocobo mounts for legacy are at 2.0 release.

can you show me where it says i need to apply by may/june 30th

you can't obtain legacy status, as the program has long since closed to new participation.

May 31st was the official cut off date to create a new account and still qualify for legacy. June 31st was the last day a 90 day subscription option was available, and therefore was the last day it was possible, if you created your account in may, to pay for 90 days and fufill all the requirements for the campaign.

well my account was made in february but sep 1st was my first day for subscription

Still probably too late, last day to start payments was June 30th according to posts made by reps

What if you bought the game at release and played in the free period but left and came back a week ago?

Out of luck. You will not be able to pay for 3 months before the servers go down.

Yep, to be fair though Goobbue mount was around for..long enough for anyone to get if they really wanted one -- Legacy is really for dedicated players of the players, so if anything you likely should have started in January rather than a week ago lol.

There was no way i could finish my thesis and play this game, but i guess it does not matter much since its just a mount.

I'm not sure if you'll be eligible. If you are, you'll get an email and a Legacy logo next to your character on login.

So since I started way back when the game came out (a week early, thanks to the collectors edition), and played for months despite the crap storm that the game was, I get nothing for it?

But someone who only recently started playing after snatching the game off a shelf for like $5 during a time when most of the huge issues with the game are fixed, get to be "legacy" and get special mounts and such for it? Yaaaaaaaaaaay.

the legacy explanation clearly states that you need to have paid for 3 months. Chances are, you bought the game, played for a short time then quit. This isn't being loyal to the game and SE wants to give something special to those that were loyal to the game. It seems fair to me.

They stuck with the game when it cost money to play, you didn't at the time. This was all detailed very specifically a long time ago, though, and anyone who did not read up on it... well, you didn't read up on it, did you? You can't really complain about how you hung around a game for a long time when it was free but that one person who paid for it for three months during the time that the offer was on (and it was emailed to all registered characters, so you were informed clearly and directly) and subsequently has paid more towards the game than you have... well, I don't need to really continue, surely? xD

It's all good in the long run, though, the items won't be "must-haves" I'm sure.

Just got my legacy status on Saturday. Here's the deal:
Nobody knows an official date when the servers are going down, probably not even SE.
Nobody knows when closed alpha, closed beta, or open beta is going to start, probably not even SE.
(this lack of a definitive date is a good thing, doesn't tie the XIV's devs hands to rush out a crap program)
The legacy campaign requires you to be subscribed for 3 consecutive months, aka 90 days(since some months have 31 days in them)
Further more Yosihda San said it will probably require a month to transfer account data.
And he also said he'd like beta(s) to run along side 1.0 until its time to migrate data to 2.0

If 1.0 runs until November 30 and the servers go offline on December 1st, in preparation for the January unofficial launch date, then your 90 day mark is October 28th. IF the game (1.0) is still up and running, there's a pretty good chance that since you paid you'll receive your status. However....

You cut it awful close, I wouldn't expect it if I where you.

The legacy campaign dates were dates associated with a time frame they KNEW players would meet. Basically everything past that date was up in the air, coin flip, etc.

i actually bought the game back on release as well on another account but i dont use it because i forgot the email for it however this is the first ive actually been able to play because my pc has been under dunded in quality until recently i understand what your saying but truth be told grow up it will happen regardless of anyones disappointment

You still have a chance to get legacy, just have to have paid for 3 months. I do see what Reiter is saying as someone who bought the collector's edition still paid more than someone buying the game for $5 and shelling out $38.85 for 3 months of subscriptions.

The main thing would be to be able to play the game at $9.95 instead of $12.95 per month. Getting a different chocobo and a title is not a huge deal especially if the game is not improved. I have no issue paying the $12.95 if they make a memorable gaming experience with what little time i get.

It's for the people who PAID FOR the game and stuck with it, not the people who tried it when it was free and quit as soon as the fees began.

i dont really care about the price cause i got $1k worth in game cards. i just want the chocobo and title just as novalty

You get nothing for it if you then put down the game after subscription started and waited waaaay too long to start again, yes.

Hey, just wondering. If i paid for 1 month playtime in April, then I paid for this month (aug). Will I be eligible for legacy when I pay for next months subscription? :confused:

Actually the legacy status finishes from when beta starts not when 1.0 finishes.

You should as it's cumulative and not concurrent...which people always seems to get confused by. That is if we are still able to resub in September.

Depends on your account creation -- if it was made in april it's possible, but beta is next month and you needed 90 days before the start of beta, so it's iffy at that point.

Jumping the gun a little bit, we actually have no solid date on when beta starts(unless something was announced yesterday that I missed). We only know that it will be in Autumn which is quite vague.

They said end of Sept/Early October with recent word that unless things get pushed back (but are currently on track) it will happen in November. There's no exact day of say September 26th or October 10th, but we do know the ranges of the first beta and it looks like they're still on track -- we also recently heard of open betas later in the year, so which beta they were referring to it's TBD, however we do know closed betas are right around the corner unless they changed that.

We also know there were 2 deadlines set - May 31st (new accounts) and June 30th (90 day plan finale) for guaranteed legacy status.

Even tho you are locked out of Legancy, SE is always doing promotions, welcome back things with items, options to get items by getting people to play and make an account. THeir will be more options in the future for you.
