Notice how the biggest white knights from EW all disappeared

It's almost as if even they can't pretend this game is anything more than hot garbage now

They all just disappeared after this disastrous expansion lmfao

I have actually noticed this, both online and in-game. So many of the people who would show up every single time without fail to shut down any discussion that could be construed as criticism of the game or devs have disappeared.

Not a good sign but it also means we aren't completely screwed yet. You'll know we're completely screwed when the only people left are the white knights.

Along the same lines, I'm noticing how many players who "really really loved their characters look post-update" and how they "looked better than ever", completely gave up on their character of multiple years and fantasia'd

A cursory glance shows they are still playing as of this month.

This is such an unhinged take. We were given 2 free fantasias recently and you're really trying to argue that people using them means they were secretly unhappy with the update to their character?

Some people don't have an unhealthy attachment to their character, and as well as being able to cope with miniscule changes in their appearance without having a meltdown, they're also able try out playing as a new character when given the opportunity to do so for free.

I think it just gets tiring for people spend time in an echo chamber of negativity and glass half-empty takes.

I remember one person came to these forums for a bit and it soured their mood a lot. They took a break for one week and were back to normal, so they decided to stop using the forums. The general mood of the forums can kinda infect people and make them feel down, when they'd otherwise enjoy the game if they hadn't looked at the forums.

I'm a little different because I am used to looking at opposing arguments and considering them without letting them actually get to me in that way. But it's not a thing most people can do, so they end up in echo chambers of their respective viewpoint.

I have been playing pretty much the exact same character since I started, I actually did Fantasia once, with the free end of ARR Fantasia, but the only change was making my character taller, I quite enjoy the graphics update, and I think my character largely looks better than before, I have not Fanta'd and nor do I plan to, in fact other than exactly them adding Grias as a playable race, I don't think I will ever Fanta.

The overwhelming majority of people seem to be pretty happy with the graphics update. The game has a lot of problems at the minute but this is not one of them.

Personally I think both plays some part to that. Not all people play -for the content-, that much has some truth. Just look at that JP graphic overhaul thread and the amount of posts & attention it garnered within such short period of time. Has there been many other topics that see such activity spike? I don't think so.

DT hasn't been exactly pleasing on more aspects and it's hurting the game to not have anything good to fall back to. People can pick something prioritize, but I think it's just better to expect a better quality on most, if not, all fronts. Graphic, content, all of them.

They probably quit, because that's what those people do. They defend the game tooth and nail and then are the first to jump ship when it becomes blatantly obvious it wasn't fine. Instead of staying and providing feedback like more neutral or negative people do.
