Link Shell Tools please

Please add Link Shell management tools.

1) Allow authorized members to Invite from anywhere in the game.
2) Allow the LS leader to remove a member from anywhere regardless or online status
3) Allow the LS leader to promote members from anywhere
4) allow LS leader to pass leadership to another member.

This is a dead horse at this point and should have been rectified as an oversight ages ago but because it's so neatly summarized here I agree.

also, another common one as 5) was the LS Message of the Day.

3+4) im sure you mean LS master, leaders cant promote :P

I agree, especially with #2. So many people continually quit the game we really need to be able to remove them from the list. There are LS's on my server who have had to remake their LS 3 times already because of this.

I remember bringing this up back in beta and it still hasn't been fixed, won't be holding my breath.

There is a real need for these tools. LS leaders are losing there minds trying to figure out how to remove inactives without having to just remake the entire LS. Doing the remake which I learned the hard way also removes all LS forum post on Lodestone. The lack of real tools for LS Masters is a nightmare!

I would agree with most of those listed in the first post, but would also like to add LS message of the day as well. I would also like to see leaders be able to change the msg of the day if needed. I am confused as to why this important stuff was not carried over from FFXI.

Agreed it should be in. Especially the removal of members that quit, since there isn't any other way to remove them.

I totally agree with this. The Linkshell management is currently one of the most broken features in the game. Linkshell leaders really need to be able to kick members from anywhere (like we could in FFXI), regardless of whether the person they're kicking is online or not.

Not only does the requirement of having to be next to a person to kick them from the LS make it impossible to remove people who have quit the game, it also opens up the door to abuse by immature people. For example, I remember this one indecent a couple months ago where one of the members in our LS decided he hated all the rest of us for some reason, and started being extremely abusive and insulting everyone in LS chat, and our LS had to spend a whole freaking hour hunting the guy down in the game world just so we could remove him since he wouldn't stop harassing us.

That kind of problem never occurs in FFXI, because in FFXI you can kick people from your LS from absolutely anywhere in the game world, whether they're standing next to you or not.

In my opinion, improving Linkshell functionality should be the #1 priority for SE's next patch.

I'd like to suggest amending #2 to be this:
2) Allow the LS leader to remove a member from anywhere regardless of online status or currently equipped linkshell.

If i recall, you cannot boot someone if they do not have that particular pearl equipped either, which can lead to frustration.

In my opinion I'd say this should be top priority too. Not having any control over your own LS is kinda lame.

As a LS leader who is working on repearling a third time, this is a definite YES!

I've reformed three times as well. It's frustrating to say the least. Not to mention I end up losing innocent members in the crossfire who were not informed. Just found a member for the first time since we last reformed almost a month ago. He thought we all quit!

I'm shocked no one mentioned this but... Since we can be in 8 shells at once, It'd be nice to be able to talk in all of them without changing. Like /l1 /l2 /l8....

That should come in with the other features which are desperately needed. (Plus it allows me to spit in the eye of any 1 ls only policies. It's to early in the game for an even ls to dominate my social needs.)

Come on SE, let us know what's going on with this! :(

ditto to everything posted here- I was hoping to see this stuff mentioned by now in stuff to be worked on- please SE give us the tools to help foster a sense of community that this game needs severely! It's sad that I have to think twice about inviting someone to my linkshell because it's filling up too fast and I can't get rid of people that don't log on anymore. I am in agreement with every point on here mentioned to help make linkshells more user friendly.

I have a theory as to why this and so much other stuff that should have been carried over from FFXI, was not. I personally believe it is because SE hired people who have never had any experience working on an MMO and probably very little experience anywhere else (sarcasm).

I've been a software developer for over 20 years. I, myself made mistakes like that in my early years and have seen other developers/project leads make similar mistakes. For some reason they feel a need to re-invent everything, which wastes much time and money. Ask SE about it now!

Let me beat this issue with my stick a bit more! I too, am sick and tired of breaking and remaking my linkshell because people won't stick with the game. I mean I don't really want to get nasty about this but come on, it's your fault SE, that people come and go so much. You guys really screwed the pooch with this game at release and now it's a year later and still no LS management tools, among other key things? This is very doable as well. Please, give us these soon! Thank you.

I registered for the forum just so I could agree with this. One bajillion thumbs up, it blows my mind that this functionality is not in the game now.

PLEASE let us talk into any linkshell without having to switch between them. It is so frustrating when conversations are happening in two LS's and I have to keep swapping between the two.

Two things, One the Devs werent all replaced, only some of the staff was replaced during the transition, It more or less is new leadership then new devs, The reasons why features like this are forgotten is mainly due to project planning, alot of things get pushed back easily when bigger assignments come up.

Two, If you keep voicing your wants in a proactive and visible manner like this thread, I am sure they will be addressed and likely be thrown into a patch. Just word of warning, alot of patch planning are done well in advance, so it may take two patches being released before you see a patch with what it is you addressed. This is just because they plan development very far out, and move certain assignments up priority based on what they see feasable in the release time frame of a patch
