Coerthas without music

Have u tried coerthas without BMG its really nice, cuz all u hear are the birds & water running. really soothing try it.

The game in general is really nice without music I've noticed. Areas like Coerthas and the Black Shroud instantly come to mind, especially the Black Shroud at night.

I'm so glad others notice this stuff now. Coerthas is my all time favourite place to fish, and I find that just listening to the water running and the wolves in the distance not only calms me, but adds to the immersion overall. I absolutely love the BGM in Coerthas, but I find turning off the BGM everywhere really brings you into the game more.

Which is something I hope they continue to finely tune and amplify in 2.0, the ambient noises. I've done the same, turn everything off but music and ambient sounds and sometimes, shut the music off completely. Listening to the storms is nice as well.

Only La Noscea seems a bit empty of sounds. I would have put some cricket sounds around during the night.

The ambient noise is pretty good in most areas, but the Coerthas music is the most relaxing of them all I find. I'd never hit the zone without my BGM cranked.

I often have the music off to play my own music, but sometimes don't have any of my own music going. At those times I just enjoy the ambiance.

Often prefer the music lowered, especially in dungeons....

But it would be nice if zones had a daytime and nighttime track that played once according to ingame clock or from zone in and then became ambient til the next trigger.

Perhaps unique tracks for when you approach/are in camps or hamlets or for when battlewardens spawn (they spawn with a sense of urgency rallying adventurers so the music should reflect that)

Even ominous tracks for when garlean airships are about to fly overhead that fade so we then just hear the strong sound of the ships themselves

I would prefer areas like the black shroud to be ambient, hearing grass or twigs crunch, trees swaying and wildlife noises. Reserve the tranquil music for when you get near landmarks within the zone. There needs to be more ambient wildlife however.

Dungeons should have that breezy/whispy type air sound as you go through them seeing as they are caves for the most part. You should hear water droplets falling to puddles, monsters far away, rocks crumbling. And if there are Garleans even hear them walking or talking until they aggro.

Coerthas might have new Music in 1.23a, as it would seem Meteors are falling there according the the Grand Company page.

This thread reminds me of how in FFXI, the 'attack music' would not start until you drew your weapon. So Beastmasters would enjoy calm soothing fights by their pets where they could enjoy the normal background music of the zone or just the peace and quiet of the never visited corner of some dungeon. Then SE killed our peace and quiet because mages were complaining they didn't get to hear the attack music when they were partying. Sad times.

You can actually turn that setting on and off in the config menu.
