I have no idea how to use this game's "seek invite" function in the party search. If I'm seeking for a party on Warrior, at level 39, which tab do I click on and how would I set it up?
I've tried "Search-> Seeking Invite" and I get nothing...then I've tried "Recruit-> Seek Invite," but I feel like that isn't what I should be doing either lol...help?

You need to go to Search and click the area with your name at the top where you can then set your status, preferred class, comment, etc.

There's a pretty good Lodestone guide for this.
As Inaaca said, just go to Menu --> Search, set your status to "Seeking party" and write a search comment. -

The "party" recruit menu is used pretty much when you shout that you're making a group. you can put in detailed info about what you plan to do and what jobs you want.
The JP are really the only ones who activity use it. -

I still wonder why no one besides the JP use this? Using the seek party and search functions would be so much easier than just sit in ul'dah shouting for a damn party...
Come to think of it, doesn't most of the current player base of this game come from XI? 'cause I dunno, but it seems like everyone suddenly forgot about this sort of things. O_o -

It's because we didn't have the player search till almost a year after release. Players became used to shouting for groups.
There's also the WoW players too, quite a bit of are current XIV community never played XI. -

You "Seek party" by putting your flag up and the party leader can "Seek members" and the only ones displayed are the ones with their flags up. The only real option you had was level range. So this system is a bit confusing to me...especially since when I select search, it just returns no results ><Quote:

Do not mean to derail this thread but I really wish more people would use the party seek function :(. I cannot wait till they add little icons in 2.0 like they had in XI that physically show when someone is looking for a group.

Somebody needs to schedule an official "use your f*$&ing search function for once" day, and everybody spread the word. Maybe then people will actually use it or think of it more. One rule is to ignore all shouts that day.

Funny thing is on FFXI currently nobody uses the party seek anymore, it has all evolved into shouting.
Its all shouts for Voidwatch, and abyssea groups. When you want exp you show up to a camp like lathene worm camp and shout if anyone has any room. -

people don't use it because its not easy to use, and its to well defined. we need a flag it and forget it system similar to XI.
