So many ppl complaining about the patch lull.. well if there's nothing to do why havent i seen more big fish title holders
because most people don't like fishing
Not a lot of World-class Trollers around, smh my head
When people say "Nothing to do" they mean PvE content.
Fight the fish
Well, I prefer fishing over botany and mining...
When people say there's nothing to do, they are referring to nothing that holds their interests. People shouldn't be forced to go into a fairly niche section of the game just to get what little scraps of content there is.
The developers should be doing a much better job, and no amount of "Go do all those Big Fish", and "Haven't you thought about doing Frontlines until you feel like crying for the several thousand victories achievement" is going to resolve the serious content deficit.
It's an utter sad state of affairs when the suggestions amount to "Go do content from 3 expansions ago". We have been doing this already for long enough.
To be honest, I don't actually have faith in it being something new. Just Bozja with a fresh coat of paint, probably. But at the very least there is some enjoyment to be found in exploratory zone.
You would have thought with the bare minimum effort put into designing the relic acquisition last expansion, that they would've had the perfect idea already to release the relics sooner.
See, when people say "There's nothing to do" they don't actually mean that. What they mean is "There's no recent iteration of the specific brand of content I wish to play". That is, an instanced zone with a large enough population that they can passively reap the benefits of being in a party while paying more attention to whatever streaming service is running on their second monitor.
Oh boy. You know a franchise has hit a rough patch once these topics start popping up...
People really out here pretending collecting 20,000 accursed hoard is content.
Sure, there are technically things to do. The problem is that there is absolutely nothing that anyone wants to do.
We should just get every achivement too while we are at it
Because FSH unsubbed too.
Been there ; done that ; came back to 8 new big fish for 4 months ; going to unsub again.
Forum is more fun than the game for FSH with bait like this.
I can't believe there are people with the audacity to say this patch doesn't have content when they don't even have every achievement.
Next time, in our english course, we'll talk about a figure of speech : the hyperbole. I'm so tired of people taking that in the first degree, when it's a basic figure of speech everyone uses everyday. But no, there is a always a brainiac to say "no it's not that there is nothing to do, there is nothing you want to do", basically saying "It's not the game that has a problem, it's you".
It definitely just looks like Bozja 2.0. Maybe it will be less convaluted, lol.
I actually liked the last relic grind. I know loads hated it, but I liked having a use for my unlocked tomestones. Plus, the two before it were attached to thouse horrid zones, so it was nice not to have to worry about it.
It is not, it means battle scenarios. Unless you count fishing as battle against hunger - it is not it

But it is since UO and EQ.
And BTW

Meanwhile I am having a blast in Eureka and enjoying the community there. I felt no sense of accomplishment or me,or able journey just buying Tombstone Weapon #2. In fact I just destroyed nearly all of mine as I have no attachment to them whatsoever, as I would any other piece of random gear I no longer need.
EW relics were just lazy and disappointing.
All the Big Fish are Final Fish now, which you'd probably know if you did fishing
It’s literally impossible to produce mainstream content at a rate that keeps pace with the players devouring it.
Well, at least content that still adheres to some sort of quality standards and has no cheesy roadblocks in place, like WoW TBC Brutallus that was nothing but a numbers and gear check and prolonged the patch in an artificial way. But that wouldn’t even work here because the gearing is way faster and easier and the “raids” work differently.
I would say nobody is asking them to have that constant production in mind, as yes it is not feasible.
But they do not even put in any modicum of effort towards giving the players something to actually devour. It's like "Here's your 1-time snack, you can get another one in 13 months time.". People are not asking for a constant meal by any stretch of the imagination.
I mean, there’s probably some ultra rare mount or minion or something out there that only 1% of the playerbase has or something, so I guess nobody can ever claim there’s no content left ever again lol (sarcasm).
I just don’t understand responding to ‘there’s no content I want to do’ with ‘but what about all that content you don’t want to do’. Like, if they wanted to do that content they’d surely be in the game doing it and not on the forums complaining about having nothing to do lol
If your argument to that claim is that not many people engage to a completionist degree in FFXIVs most awful content....
I'd rather uninstall the game than going and relying on daytimes and weathers to line up to spin RNG wheels of fishing.
Content I have no desire engaging in and gets me nowhere except wasting hours of my lifetime while bringing me no entertainment.
I didn't mind it. Ironically, I'd rather have Eureka 2.0 instead of Bozja 2.0. But my major issue with them is just how overly convaluted and contrived they feel as systems.
It's just too much all at once.
When it comes to relics, I'm fine with doing them as is. Once they are done and you got 50 steps to get it done, it becomes tiresome all for a skin.
Warframe: 1999 just came out and Path of Exile 2 is in early access. If anything, I have too much to do.
"Man, I'm bored sitting around my house, there's nothing to do..."
"Oh really? Have you cleaned every speck of dust off of your bookshelf yet? Better get your tweezers!"
YAWN.
