No.
Everyone can have a bad day, a momentary lapse of judgement, or simply bad luck, and die to something they know how to handle usually. That is human and is, iirc not not a bannable offense.
Hmmm. Banned no. You should never have a problem with normals, or any of the standard/casual content you mention.
I suppose people could add you to their personal black list, but that can't keep you out of a Duty Finder instance they are in.
It could mean they use that blacklist as black book of people they don't want to be in a high end PF with. But to take exception to someone because of how they are in a normal content they'd have to be extreme. Kind of looney extreme. And they'd be doing you a favour, you don't want to be in a PF they are in, and they would be a minority so small it's not going to impact you.
If anyone says that in XIV chat log though, do everyone a favour and report them for harassment.
I doubt it will make a difference on its own, but if they are a dickhead a lot, they'll get reported a lot, and when they finally step too far out of line, I'd like to think they will get less benefit if the doubt.
You really won't get banned for anything in this game short of verbally abusing someone or admitting to breaking the ToS in chat
your forum start sate is 2013.
pretty sure you should actually know the answer to that by now. if, for some reason, you dont (which is unlikely), SE seems to reward incompetence and doesnt expect skill, even at end game. unless you are doing it intentionally, its highly unlikely.
You don't seem like a new player or something. You have over 100 posts and are level 100.
Of course you won't get banned for dying to mechanics. People go into daily roulettes expecting all the players to die to everything. Not because of it being hard, but because a lot of the players in the duty are new, first timers, returning players, playing an unfamiliar job, or don't fully understand the game yet (mechanic snapshotting, cast bars, common mechanic indicators).
Story content is designed with the idea that these sort of players (new and returning players) are doing it. So, they certainly wouldn't ban over it.
DPS rotations are like that. Especially melee DPS and their positionals. They cause tunnel vision and that was always part of their difficulty. Healers, tanks and ranged physical DPS don't have this quite so much, especially when you get used to them, although personally I find SMN and PCT to not cause tunneling either given their simplicity.
I see you're on an EU world. Whenever I play there for even the briefest period, I encounter toxicity in Duty Finder. I find there to be more people in the EU that are sweaty and toxic compared to the NA region. You can queue for a trial or normal raid roulette and the moment you do something they perceive as "wrong", they call it out very, very bluntly. I was in an expert roulette there and they berated a poor sprout tank completing a dungeon for the first time. They insulted them all the way through to the end of it ripping apart everything they were doing. It was hard to watch. Never see it in the NA region at all.Quote:
Players who black list me to avoid be in endgame content
When you are about 20 levels above it, you can solo it using the Unrestricted setting. I guarantee you can enter the coils as a level 100 Pictomancer and kill the bosses in 1 hit each. You may not be able to complete them immediately on release, but you can eventually when they are several years old.Quote:
since then i haven't tried to do any endgame content when i know that i will never able to complete them.
You'll be fine.
You're more likely to get banned for typing something in the chat nowadays anyway.
No. I also struggle alot with some boss VFX in DT, specifically Alexandria and alot of lightning based boss VFX because the flashiness of pure white disorients me. I found myself physically looking away from the screen in pain. I felt it keenly in Chaotic too. I have all positive interactions from being transparent with people and perhaps let healers/tanks know I might become familiar with the floor at some point. I remember when I was sick and had a fever and played just to distract myself from the pain of being sick and everything felt abit surreal, I always was supported.
People won't know you're struggling unless you tell them. They're not mindreaders.
Blacklists have no effect in DF as far as I know. You have to be truly something else to somehow manage to make everyone's blacklist...and if you're self aware, you'll be fine. Most people aren't looking over people's shoulders and blacklist space is limited anyway. If someone blacklists you for dying in normal content then you lost nothing because you probably don't want to play with someone like that.
I don't know about high end. I avoided this savage tier because of eyestrain concerns and if my loot goblin brain didn't compel me I would've dodged chaotic too.
All in all, I think the majority of people like to be communicated with.
Honestly in normal content I can’t say I’ve ever seen a party member performing so badly that it felt justifiable to report them lol. Then again, I don’t have access to [forbidden numbers] lol.
I mean, there’s always going to be some ‘afk’ party members doing the absolute bare minimum while they watch Netflix, but I’d say that’s totally different from being misinformed / misunderstanding something about a rotation but still trying anyway. I think really as long you’re doing your best people don’t generally mind what the end outcome is as long as it’s victory (in normal content lol)
Making mistakes and not knowing all the content at all times is perfectly fine. It’s not a bannable offense.
I once encountered an honest-to-gods-literal-zero-DPS-healer... in a current savage. Even that wasn't worth the effort to file a report. Or say anything at all that might be construed the wrong way and get myself banned. Because at least they were pushing their heals. :p
I'm really sorry to hear that. If I was still subbed, then being in EU I'd try and persuade you to join me to try the 'current' unreal and to prog some extreme. If you put a blind group, no guide, it really is quite fun. Unfortunately you need to be in it for the fun prog and the clear. Because if you are in it for fun + rewards your plumb out of luck.
(That means joining farm parties with people who are staring down 50 clears, and then things start to get a bit more intolerant and a lot less fun.)
Dying is okay when learning stuff, the game teaches you mechanics via killing you.
Not enough people realize that death is a good thing in this game.
Your name is "undead"! Even when you die, you will be alive!!
The name joke aside, it is punishable to become toxic towards players who make mistake, and want to learn from it rather than other way around!
I think I would have a permanent ban if this was the case ^^ I am a very easily distracted player who dies a lot ! But we get up and try again! Do not worry!
Only thing is: Do not trap PF! Bad days happens, and often I myself catch the desire "can I just join a prog PT that is beyond my practice point so I can at least try it?" After a week not seeing my prog point of 8-10 hours a day, hours and hours attempts in PF and never seeing prog points can lead to "I give up and join an advanced PT"
Even though I am at the point, I try to remind myself how awfully nervous I get in an advanced PT and make more dumb mistakes, in this case I am harassing the PT!!
So this is the only really case you need to pay attention of when it is OK to make many mistakes or not.
These do not apply to dungeons/alliance raid etc!
It is more in regards to Chaotic/savage/ultimates/extremes with PF!
Wrong, got a ban for removing a spammer from NN
NN is a cesspool, I stopped caring after years of watching NN be used solely as global chat and hijacked by mentors who just talk and questions/concerns get lost in the middle of nonstop conversation.
NN was really nice in 2020 when I joined, mentors there were actually helpful and it made me want to give back at some point later.
Same spammers, trolls, spoilers, keep showing up with 0 consequences and if anything you're more at risk for getting banned yourself for dismissing someone from NN. There's alot of 'I'll be a nuisance, but if you kick me I'll report you'.
But this is abit off topic...
Dying to mechanics is fine long as you are making a effort to stay alive as much as possible. Players will notice and not get to upset if at all. If you stand around taking everything to the face, then you could possibly be kicked. But a ban is extremely unlikely to the highest level especially if you are trying.
You will get banned if you type "meowdy", "literally", "tbh ngl fr", "pspsps" or "no salt just vibes".
Lies! You’re an undead! You don’t die!

A GM pulled me aside one raid night and threatened to foreclose my house if I wipe one more time to sunrise in M4S.
Yeah. What they should do actually is have a way of detecting if someone is 'really' a sprout. Keep out alt-sprouts. And reduced the proportion of mentors.
Its, natter, natter, natter.
Often comes across very cliquey so not great for overwhelmed sprouts still trying to work out what this soulstone is that everyone keeps screaming at them about.
And when a question does get asked, it's a quick answer, and then STRAIGHT back to nattering.
It even just silence, and then the nattering resumes.
A right click commendation for sprouts to give mentors might be nice. You get one to give per MSQ level advanced?
It's a culture thing and NA/EU are just rude like that. No idea about JP.
the answer is no and I think why OP is asking is sadly I'm what state 14 is in right now. You can get pulled in GM jail of you miss pronouns someone and not gonna lie that's dum. Also you can get banned if you say something someone doesn't take even if it's simple and not mean.
I always say to people to expect to be playing with 5 years old and not adults because a simple mistake and people will witch up you but true no one speak about that.
Yeah you will be reported to riot games and have your account permanently banned for being stinky at the videogame!!
Only one way to find out.
I'm terrible at the game and have been playing for over a year and a half. I'm still here. You'll be fine.
