Changes I would like for all and each Tank (Dark Knight & Warrior).

DARK KNIGHT

I used to want this job fully changed, but with the DT changes it's grown on me. Technically I feel this job shouldn't use MP but I will consider they will keep it as such.

123 Combo animation change. Bring back Power Slash please. It now gives a charge of Darkness, You can hold up to 3 and it should be reflected in the Job Gauge.

Abyssal Drain functions as it does now (the healing might have to be nerfed a bit), it is a oGCD with a super short cooldown (to prevent multi-presses) and it cost 1 Darkness charge to use, ideally you could use it after every 123 but you can store it if need be.

Flood of Shadow and Edge of Shadow should be merged into a single oGCD with fall off damage. 3000mp cost still. Every use Reduces the Cooldown of Shadowbringer by 10 seconds

Carve and Spit now shows up for 30 Seconds after you activate Delirium. It cost 1 Darkness to do and it gives a small amount of Blood on top of the healing and MP it gives now. Potentially change it to Small Cleave AOE w/ fall off damage.

Delirium animation should be replaced back to Blood Weapon, hate the "stomach pain" animation.

Blackest Night, No MP cost, 25 second CD. If broken it gives a charge of Darkness. Later on to be replaced by Oblation which in addition it now gives 10% Mit and it's 2 charges.

DarkMind is now 20% Mit with an additional 10% for the first 10 seconds if the damage is magical. It also gives all enemies attacking Dark Knight the Death's Door debuff for 10 seconds. After it's duration expires or when the enemy dies. The Dark Knight receives a small HP heal per enemy.

Salted Earth Duration Increased to 15 seconds, It REGENS the Dark Knight as long as he is in it. Salt and Darkness (Dark Bubbles) stay, HOWEVER if you use it during the last 5 Seconds of Salted Earth, it gets upgraded to Blood Sword (as in the move from Final Fantasy Tactics) and it absorbs a small amount of HP per enemy.

WARRIOR

This Job I feel has been hitting right, the job fantasy is there and it just maybe needs a few animation tweaks and new moves (Sadly I don't have any new moves for it so please sound off).

123 animation change, we saw some on the mobile version, regardless Butchers Block needs to return.

Chaotic Cyclone animation change (to keep in line with the awesome change they did to the single target version).

Upheaval and Orogeny should be decoupled. Upheaval is now a targeted small circle AOE with fall off damage.

Thrill of Battle is now the 20% Mit for 20 seconds on top of it's current function.

it is as simple as Dungeons and Dragons, they nailed it with Warrior even that it is not as balanced as others IMO.

Most games merges Dark knight and Paladin to one class but 2 different specifications, but since that in FFXIV we have them as different jobs I think DRK should be in the middle of PLD and WAR, a job that have both but less specialized.

PLD block and use defensives + active block, WAR restore percentage of the damage received and regen with high health pool.

DRK can have active block and life steal.

Isn't TNB effectively "active block"? I mean mechanically you use it the exact same as active blocking in other games.

yes you are right it is effectively as active as FFXIV can go, but TBN problem that it can be a DPS loss while other tanks doesn't have it like that.

does DRK have lifesteal mechanic? yes but we can't call it a main feature when it has more than 300s cooldown

Yeah of course. It's a bit weird in that regard, I suspect the 300-1000ms delay on ~everything in FFXIV precludes many otherwise sensible mechanics on jobs.

I really want Sole Survivor back and I can't be the only one...

I want the entire 5.0 redesign that Dark Knight suffered to be gone, but sometimes we just can't have nice things.

I think Sole Survivor being an additional effect of Plunge in PVP is pretty smart way of handling it. Its one of those abilities that died because this game only cares about a single target dps on raidbosses in a savage setting

I also kinda wish Dark Knight were the tank focused on self-healing. Somehow "Dark Knight" sounds more like the "I suck health from enemies"-tank to me, in particular if it were stackable DoT effects that did that. Warrior sounds more like a self-shielding tank to me, or one that gets stronger the lower their health is.

Changes I want for War.
Go back to being the advanced Tank Job and not the fell cleave bot. More OGCDs than just 1 with a gap closer and recquired Inner Release. If you want me to be the "HP tank" make it matter in some interesting way.

I guess if I had to rethink those parts, I'd:

* Entire 1-2-3 combo of DRK lowered in potency but each produces a short DoT that drains HP to the DRK.
* AoE 1-2 combo accordingly.
* Unique defensive buffs changed to reduce damage only slightly, instead they produce such DoTs on enemies attacking you.
* Bloodspiller and Quietus changed to consume 3s of DoT from each enemy hit if possible, producing both the damage and the healing. Base damage lowered to compensate.
* Oblation removed.
* The +10% damage buff no longer exists. It is now automatic whenever attacking a target that has 2+ of your DoTs on it.
* The Darkness moves are now used solely to bleed excess mana into extra damage.
* 60s CDs consume all DoTs and apply a mana draining DoT wtih damage dealt scaled to the DoTs consumed.
* Living Shadow produces its own DoTs, but they drain to you of course.
* Living Dead is now a passive. Whenever you hit 0HP, you briefly get a "delayed death" buff. This will kill you in 2-3 seconds if you don't press the button first (to make it more obvious do the heartbeat effects + everything goes black&white except your character!). If you do, you consume the buff (so you don't die), set yourself to 0HP, cannot take damage and get a negative shield on you. If at the end of the buff you still have 0 HP, you are of course dead. Healing has to first heal the negative shield. CD adjusted to account for the reactive instead of proactive nature.
* You'd take more damage than other tanks, but also have a constant barrage of incoming self-healing. Not like Warrior where it's every 25s, you rapidly reheal all the damage you suffer so long as you get to attack. Like a zombie, blow the head off entirely as any smaller hits won't stop you at all. And you can survive one such big hit safely every few minutes, if with some healer burden (that you normally avoid).

Warrior:
* Most current self-healing removed. Instead those abilities now apply stackable shields, stronger than the current healing by a small amount.
* As long as you keep adding to this super-shield, the duration keeps refreshing, so if you had a short break in damage intake, your EHP would be extremely high.
