Is there a reason we can't have Ryne, or Wuk as trust party members?
Let alone Healer Alisaie or dps Wuk? Since they offered those for the duty supports.
The only reason I can come up with is that they don't want to, or just flat out don't care.... Because it CAN't be for a lore or even potentially even a "Thats more work" angle.
Ryne and Wuk ALREADY exist, they just arent included in the selectable list. Give Ryne a level cap to match the other characters and thats it really. Don't even have to offer extra glamours for them to wear, just let them tag along!
For the "That wouldn't make sense" angle... We can have Thancred, Urianger, Y'shtola, and g'raha for the first dungeon.... The one where Thancred and Urianger drop rocs to block us off... and Y'sh/G'raha diddn't even get TO Tural until Vanguard, so theres that too. Also, Estinien is off on his own adventure the whole time in DT
They wouldn't even need to write interactions with mechanics and dungeons, as the characters that "Weren't there" ALREADY are complete mutes, so don't even gotta write up new lines for them.
I was Hyped for the trust system when it first launched, thinking of all the NPCs they COULD add (Deftarm PLEASE) But after not even adding Wuk, let alone Ryne as Extras to bring along, just thinking they are gonna leave it as "Scions only" club. Hell, I just want "Noteable characters" Hilde, Aemeric, Yugiri, Hien and Gosetsu! Cmon!

When you really think about it, the trust system is weird and I say this despite the fact I like it
Because Ryne is in the system, they just had her stop at Shadowbringers and I assume it's due to her being limited to the First but as you mentioned you can have characters do the first dungeon despite not showing up until much later
If I had to guess, it's probably because of the duty support system being added so now Trusts will likely just be to level the scions up and put them in new outfits -

I'd love to see them really open up the Trust system and let them go nuts, but i get the feeling they are holding this system back purposefully as a "rainy day" solution to the games later life cycle. That's probably when they'll also get around to actually updating the Grand Company system.

12-02-2024, 01:12 PMVeyaAkemiTbqh, leveling with Trusts/Duty Support can be faster than queing for those same dungeons as a DPS, this actually leads to an issue I have with the arrangement of the current Trust options, we have 8 Scions as of DT, Alp, Ali, Y'sh, Thancred, Urianger, Krile, G'raha, and Estinien, you can form two Light Parties, assuming G'raha is used as a Tank, which would be perfect... but there is an issue that starts with "The Warrior" and ends with "of Light", the player's addition breaks that neat arrangement and it means two of the DPS be forced to he leveled separated, even outright doubling the amount of runs needed to fully level the Scions assuming the player wishes to remain a DPS all the way through, which you should, as Tanks and Healers don't have long nearly as severe que issues, this could be remediated by giving more Scions more roles, maybe Y'sh could also be a Healer, and maybe you could squint and say Estinien could be a Tank, since Dragoons are so good at tanking the floor, or maybe instead add more Trust options in Support roles, so you don't feel as bad for going through the whole leveling process for a single character.Quote:

Trusts suck. Thancred and Urianger are ok. Alphinaud is useless, Alisaie's only role is to steal LB as soon as it's up, G'raha doesn't know how to use Hallowed Ground. They'll never use AOE, their damage is atrocious, they are horrible at identifying incoming threats, they seem to short circuit every time you try to do a large/double pull, and will walk over you with AOE markers on top of them so YOU better get out of their way or they'll kill both themselves and you.
I made a post about character availability before Dawntrail came out, and I doubt they care. As they are, trusts very poorly implemented and are no fun to level up whatsoever. They've butchered old dungeons for the sake of making them compliant to Trusts, and they still feel awful to run.
Isomewhatunderstand the MSQ Support system versions of the characters being trash to encourage player parties on first runs, but there's no reason why trusts should be so unreliable, useless and yes: dangerous, because they will get you killed sooner or later.
I doubt Mr. Yoshida will ever get to read this, but if so: Much shame. This system is just awful as it is today. Cute outfits don't justify how horrible Trusts currently are. -

Unless Wuk Lamat becomes a Scion, she won't be a final leveling up as a Trust member. Or else, why don't we have Lyse even who WAS a Scion? So that's the answer to that. Krile was not added sooner because she was not assisting in battle. Let's imagine Erenville joins the Scions in patch 8.0 and learns to master the new class, then he would be added as TRUST member, but NPC like WUk Lamat are not.Quote:
