It's a mobile game, by definition it can't be better.
I don't think there is any feature that can be implemented that would make me get over the annoyance of having to use my fingers to play instead of a precise mouse and keyboard setup. It's not a choice, I'm just too millenial to deal with that. Like, what even is this?? They make fingersocks now.

There's absolutely no chance it will be better. It's quite literally just a cash grab that they've outsourced to the Tencent studio that made the mobile version of PUBG. CBU3 aren't involved at all. They just got Yoshi-P to announce it.
I'm expecting something like Ever Crisis.
I don't like Ever Crisis.
Probably wouldn't be that hard to get it to unofficially play on PC, and if it wasn't for the fact it would be a hilarious conflict.. they could officially do it too (like Genshin).
Shame on everyone and their lucky cricket though if the mobile version does better... just my 2 gil.. lol
It’s likely going to be an absolute mess and will probably die shortly after release as these desperate cash-grab mobile games always do lol
I'm under the impression the mobile version will be better when it comes to customization (such as having a hair style linked to a glam plate or something) but be completely outclassed in every regard. There is no reality where it features better gameplay. Either it has to be extremely dumbed down to a point that would make a Healer rotation look hard or
The mobile version clearly isn't meant for anyone who uses these forums or even those who play the game itself. It's a mobile game so it's going to be bad in just about every regard but people will eat it up since the mobile market is just free money. As much as I hate to admit it, people on PC and Console are the absolute minority for gaming.
Could be wrong of me to say but I do hope that the mobile game doesn't succeed, only because of my disdain for mobile games.
Switch over as in stop playing the main game and invest all your time in the mobile one? I wouldn’t trust SE with a mobile title even half that much. Just look at FFXI mobile, FFXI grandmasters, final fantasy record keeper, mobius final fantasy, dissidia opera omnia and final fantasy 7 the first soldier (that one didn’t even last a whole year).
It’s just gonna be a social/glam/minigame app with very rudimentary content that’ll consist of pre-scripted inputs and gameplay.
Based on everything I've seen of it, and it's a lot, they've remade just about every aspect of the game. The main difference is going to be that it makes sense for mobiles, so you can play it on the go. In other words, you know how the hotbars are 4 buttons when playing as scions? It'll probably be like that.
Based on the footage, it looks slightly better than what we have now in ARR, although to be fair they are working with a smaller resolution.
As I said in the other thread, if they give every person a house in the mobile version, it'll raise questions about the inability of Square Enix to do that in the regular version.
Housing: WoW, GW2, ESO, EQ, etc, etc.
Oh and that one Chinese company who is borrowing your assets to make a mobile game.
Seriously, lol. My thought is the interior changes they made recently is a sign towards a long term fix, but imagine if that wasn't their plan. At the party with their pants down and their power ranger speedo on.
$13.99 to refresh dungeon stamina
Auto-battle a must have, 5 buttons only. Press the big button for special attack as part of your 2 min meta
Imagine trying to drop&pick furniture with your finger to do the glitches :D
my only hope for the mobile port is that the chinese devs can fix the spaghetti code in a way that it can translate to the normal game, like letting us have a glam dresser in our houses and stuff.
The real mobile gaming is using a smartphone stand or one of those controllers you can insert your mobile phone into with a lil keyboard.. at which why not keep using a pc?
Having fewer buttons to press is a plus in my view. And I've been playing XIV since 1.0.
The idea that more buttons = more complex has always been such a ooga-booga take. 4 or 5 is too little though.
Anyway I wouldn't move over. Mobile gaming is garbage. And I haven't owned a house in over 4 years. Let mine go and never looked back. Not worth being forced to sub every other month over.
Yeah!!!! I can’t wait to have the entirety of my job’s capabilities condensed into a single easy to use button!
Oh but maybe they should add auto-battle so I don’t have to presss that one button over and over again. How fun and engaging! It’s playing itself and somehow that means I’m playing it!!!!
……
Would be extremely funny if it used the ARR era versions of jobs. I prefer some of those to now lol
It doesn't have Zenos so automatic no.
Jokes aside...
Just no, tho I find it funny that everyone would get a house, I doubt the devs would hear the end of it which is good.
Not really as like you just said it looks like they remade every part of the game that could include stripping away areas, dungeons quests etc that was also in ARR.Quote:

I think their main excuse that they've kept using is server load as to the reason we can't have more houses. But at the same time they contradict themselves i.e with retainers they have said they cant give us more than 2 because of server load BUT everyone can have the ability to buy more lol
Well yes, both those things are true.
But it doesn't change the fact that SE has struggled to do something for 11 years that an online MOBILE game (which happens to be a remake of the same game) is probably going to achieve. If it does, it'll show that when other developers are faced with the exact same challenge making the exact same game, they don't have this issue. :p
It remains to be seen if they will have restrictions on it in a similar fashion, but I just have a feeling they won't have these issues unless SE forces them to so that it doesn't raise questions.
Though I don't like to be critical, this is an obvious issue they've had plenty of time (11 years) and opportunity (Island Sanctuary, apartments) to solve and not done so. So I just can't help but point out the irony that a mobile game may potentially do it before they can.
You know what? It'll probably work better and not need glitches. Apparently they've been working on it for 5 years, which is a lot longer than SE had for ARR.
That's the thing even if it's not the reasons above it will be due to Ps4, Ps5, "insert limitations excuse". Stupid problems that have existed since ARR and along the expansions baitbox, glamour limitations, Housing, extra retainers, increased inventory (cant load more assets BUT pay extra and we can make it possible with an extra saddlebag LOL) Even when they introduced apartments they said they could keep adding more as soon as they fill but on some servers they're at their limit too.
