I didn't enjoy a lot of the Stormblood trials very much, even in EX Form. I think it's the theme they all share. It just doesn't do it for me so my enthusiasm for them being made into Unreal form is kinda low. I'll still do 'em since WTF else am I gonna do. lol
Don't worry, we will probably get Lakshmi in the next few patches and that fight is dull also.
I'm sad we never got Nidhogg or Susano unreal, those fights are bangers.
If they started with Byakko, then they are doing the four lords and probably ending with Shinryu for the final DT unreal. Which means we'll get to do Dance Dance Revolution again.
If they stick to the formula they kinda setup in EW we'll probably get Suzaku and Seiryu in the next 2 patches and Shinryu in 7.4.Quote:

A bit sad myself we got no Nidhogg though :(
"Skipping" simply isn't going to happen since it's already here. Even if this was a suggestion 1-2 months ago it'd probably be too late to implement depending on when they adjusted and tested everything. You'd get Byakko or nothing.
I think what I'd like more is to simply have Unreals not be a temporary thing.
If you don't want to do it, just don't.
Look on the bright side though, no Bismarck.
As for this topic, I've been saying for a while that I wish they'd just give us 2-3 trials to pick from each patch, that and make Unreal available from the expansion's release. That way when a boring or easy one rolls around we could still opt to go for a more engaging fight. I know I'd really not want to do Endwalker's first EX again since that fight put me to sleep farming the cat on content, but the second one was super fun on release. Stoa is almost on EW1's level, but since it's not an arena boss there are at least a couple mechanics that the tanks could botch, having to catch the add if the OT doesn't mit is pretty fun as a melee.
I'd also like it if they gave us the new one and the pick of a couple of re-runs. Singularity Reactor was a blast, so was S1T7. I even enjoy getting most of the ARR EX trials on mentor. Overall, just having one fight you breeze through 20m a week is a little bland. Some variety would definitely incentivize me to do it more often, more so than the exclusive rewards. 5 patches for 6-8 trials simply isn't enough when we skip over some of the more fun ones like Nidhogg.
You go ahead and skip it, but I still need a bunch of leaves and this fight is consistently clearable unlike the last few.
Considering that it’s meant to be cleared twice per week and repeated several times to get the new mount and minion (1000 faux leaves) I don’t mind much that it’s on the easy side this time. While Thordan was fun, finding a decent group with PF could be a real pain sometimes, especially if one was not available to do it early in the week as there were fewer groups and waiting in PF could take a long while.
As for what comes next, we will see as they don’t necessarily follow the initial order of release. Thordan came after Sephirot, Sophia and Zurvan in EW. Same with the 5.x bosses: they started with Shiva and then went back.
Some sort of rotation would be nice but considering that the previous unreal were lvl 90, they would need to be updated. They could at least have something like a mid patch weekly rotation of bosses when more are released for current expansion. Thordan was the only boss for almost 9 months and no matter which boss, it gets old.
I will say this is a good patch for new players, or those nervous about "high end" content, to get into Faux Hollows. It's a very forgiving and recoverable fight.
Byakko was the last time I bothered farming an Ex Trial. The difficulty of Extreme Trials pretty much bottomed out with Sophia Extreme in 3.4, and they never really tried making them more difficult than that ever again (Shinryu being the one exception), where Extreme Trials were originally about as difficult as third floor (fourth floor in original Coils) raids. I suppose if I had started the game with the newer ones or wasn't mostly engaged by fights being challenging or having unique mechanics (mechanics that aren't just different versions of "dodge here and there"), I might feel differently, but I was already used to the style of extremes they had before they settled on the newer approach.
It's also why I think they skipped Nidhogg, Ramuh and Moggle Mog; those fights would be way too difficult simply because their design paradigms have downright alien ideas to the vast majority of trials in the game. Targets you shouldn't attack? Baiting attacks?? Buff management??? Not to mention King Mog draining MP from DRK or PLD today would be unfair for job balance. They probably skipped Bismark because that one was a bit dull (in terms of pure difficulty, maybe still a tougher fight than some modern extremes just because of dps checks and jobs were suddenly harder to play in HW), and Ravana of his counter, mini-dps checks with the Warlord Shell and the stances that reduced / increased his damage taken would mess with their 2-min meta.
Byakko, and the two other four lords, in particular suffered from having an 'interphase' that was basically identical to normal mode, and wasn't really designed for being a fun, repeatable part of a fight but rather a novelty the first time you see it.
First time running Jade Stoa, riding a tornado up into the air and playing bullet hell was mad cool! "Oh boy, I bet this'll be CRAZY on extreme!" I thought. And then... it's almost exactly the same. You can dodge everything in that phase moving less than the size of a Ley Lines, during which the only thing you can do is move, and it's a whole extra 2 minutes of the fight.
Speaking of sophia the only unreal I've ever participated in was hers, and hers only.
I have this amusing take with a friend too: I love Sophia, he hates Sophia. I hate Zurvan with a passion, he loves Zurvan. Shame they're gone for good.
Oh I did try but people in PF were insufferable and I couldn't get the clear (waited awhile before doing so in that patch). There was always that one person who didn't do mechanics and thus caused wipes. Did enjoy getting hit like a truck as a tank though.
But it's not like I don't know the experience. I did suffer getting 99 totems mid-late heavensward (all because I lost with a mid 90's roll like 7 clears in). I guess what I meant to say was the only one I "farmed'. Sephirot I did at least try to clear but did not have a group capable of doing so.
I didn't touch any of the other unreals though. Didn't really care all that much imo. Maybe eventually.
