This is what caster gear should look like!

I’ve never played Exvius, so I don’t know who this character is. I’m assuming they’re probably a healer.

But this is the kind of gear design I’d like to see for casters! Still has the robe-like silhouette, because that seems to be important, for reasons. lol But the legs are open and so is the chest. How refreshing it would be if other caster gear followed suit and lost all the frilly collars, or worse, the business wear collar with a necktie! At least for female characters! With so many pretty necklaces in this game, I’d like gear that allows them to be visible.

I know it’s a cash shop item, and I’m not starting a discussion about that. I just hope it’s popular enough for the gear designers to lean into this kind of look for casters/healers. As someone who plays female casters, this is the kind of look I’m going for!

As a male caster/healer, I saw so many pretty dresses being released. They almost never releases clothes for male healers or casters.

Oh I agree, those look awesome!

But my point is about the collars thrown on almost every piece of casting gear, and so many with a necktie, as though I’m wearing a business suit underneath my robes. For some reason, even when casters and healers share the majority of gear, they feel the need to wrap up the casters to the chin.

I started as THM/BLM and I always said I wanted to look more like Lulu than Vivi! lol Heck even the closest you can get to that, with the 1st Nier caster dress has that weird collar to it! Free the caster necklines!

To me that just looks like an excessively gendered piece of gear that really doesn’t show off good design

Did they say anything about this being mog station or ingame obtainable?

Aion had very fun armors. In fact, Korean MMO's tend to be a lot more colorful and interesting. Sometimes their focus on sex appeal is a bit too dominant for my taste, but I love a healthy selection of serious/reserved to sexy/fun/cutesy/costumey.

I just want options. Let me get that sexy evil sorceress vibe and let it not just be Nier raid glam that lets me do it. I'm not asking for tits and ass in every set, but man, as a SMN, I really really really hate Caster armor options.

I feel like there's a good reason why they haven't added caster clothes like this yet...

I saw this and was like why do we never get this type for free? I will buy it no doubt or have it bought for me as a gift from my Hubby I always choose something at Xmas. This is how the gear should look and I wish it was more male/female like we used to get. I hate the designs for casters and the Aion gear looks really nice I never played the game but they look far better than the shit robes with Elvis collars we get lol.

Aion's fashion is the main reason why I'm so sad that they ended up just destroying the game. It really was special and I had so many outfits on male and female characters. They did have some conservative armors for women too, but a lot of the art is very old and I didn't see a lot of good images on Google at this point.

The armors may be too 'high fashion' for the world of XIV, but I do wish the engine could allow for more detail. Some armors are getting better but a lot of our options still have very basic colors and shapes / designs to them. You really can see repetitive shapes in particular, with maybe a slightly different design on the same basic shapes. Overall I guess XIV armors look functional, but often not very exciting or exotic.

I hope it is not just a all in one and you can dye it and why do we not get the hair? lol

awww haha I know and now I am a bit concerned because they said the new savage alliance will have new hairstyles...If it something I truly want I will have to either save up my gil or get in there and hope I can manage it lol. I am hoping this outfit does come in December though and yes they need to add better longer hair and also outfits like this. I am hoping there might be more than one hairstyle coming up for us as we have had a drought for a very long time.

LOL one of the new gear sets looks like an Elvis suit too, Elvis impersonators in Limsa will probably be a thing!

But yes, it’s really the collars and the potato sack style of robes that annoy me. The silhouette of this outfit is so nice! And a lot of the caster tops would be lovely if the collars/neckties were removed. Take Neo-Ish and the difference between healer and caster there, for no good reason. Of course, I support the campaign for unrestricted glamour!
