any tips for exploration?

I'm trying to do the exploration achievements, but alot of annoying stuff out there like trying to find way to isle of Umbra, I keep running into mobs I can kill that can see me next to mobs that can OHK me, is there any potions or such that I can use to silence myself so I won't make noises and just run past the sight mobs?

no, they don't exist. You can pass through them just by walking

All mobs can be passed by:
Walking (some don't like it if you run)
Sneaking (creep up behind them when they looking the other way)
Running (out distance them before they can get an attack in)
Decoy (throw a PLD at them, and when they busy munching on PLD you sneak by).

GC, great guide i used it, only thing is if your after gridania gates probably not worth th effort. if you do decide to go for them then get a pld or go pld & use "hallowed ground" then leyroy jinkins it to the next gate.

I've updated it since to include exploration abilities, I just never changed the strategies to keep it open to everyone regardless of what they choose to level. Also wolfwing I think you may be going the wrong way, the right way to go is a cave northwest of the cave you went through.

Throw something unlikable like a DRG instead.

heh yeah, problem with running/sneaking is, you have level 51 mobs that will see you, okay fine, just run past, except they hang around level 75 mobs that you need to sneak by.

Gridania gates are doable, you just need to have the patience to wait for the mobs to move out of the way so you have a path. If you lack that patience, you can use a friend as a decoy for the mobs while you run through.

The patience method has payed off for me on virtually every difficult gate in the game.

The trick in those situations, is to simply wait until the sight mobs are facing the wall or away from you, and then walk behind them.

Have you played since 1.22? ^^;
DRG is likable.

Aren't some of those areas even easier due to the redistribution of mobs back in 1.23?

That's the wrong way if you're trying to get the gate, that way is for the faction leve Intel Outside.
