The reason of non-satisfying rewards

I was thinking how criterion dungeons was such a waste because of its reward, what if relic weapon series was part of the reward?

I feel like the real issue of reward stuff because of lacking horizontal progression and wasting gear each period of time instead make it viable for whole expansion.

introducing new content Chaotic Alliance Raid new patch are you concern of the reward? what will make you clear it repeatedly?

This game is commended for its glamour options, for the housing, for socializing, for emotes, for all of that. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of players are playing for those things.
Game is kinda lackluster in character customization... so... how about adding more tattoos, perhaps even body tattoos, piercings, hairstyles, ear and horn variants. How about adding in more hair colors? Maybe an option to change skin colors.

I'd say... do more with that. People will farm for those things all day long if they have to. Make sure they can be sold on the market board too, so people can also just do this content with the goal of selling those things and making gil.
Glowy weapons too... just... more VFX-heavy shiny/glowy things from such content will be extremely popular. Especially if they actually use their dual dye system well for those.

There's also the 'issue' of ilvl gear not being optimal if you care about actually building for stats. Just adding in more horizontal gear adjustments will be interesting. Currently, being a healer, it's kinda silly that if I wish to eliminate piety from my gear (because it is such a wasted stat), then I have to keep my 610 ilvl crafted pentamelded gloves, and my 610 normal raid boots. I can't upgrade any of those to 620 or 630 ilvl because those options will remove more important stats that it's not really that worth it. Blame piety for being bad too.
Giving the option to adjust stats of existing raid gear through new content would be a fun mechanic. In my case, can remove the piety substat and replace it with something else.
Relics are similar, I guess, but they get the added bonus of having 3 substats, and I feel all relic gear should just have 5 materia slots by default, in order to always make them better.


There's plenty of ways to add in fun rewards, both for raiders looking to minmax and looking for practical gear, as well as cosmetic items and extra customization.

How would this work? I mean, it would be too hard for the usual player... no way they would do this, unless the criterion relic was optional, more flashy and "beautiful", so to speak.

Btw, before the first Variant/Criterion was released, i really thought that the relics would be based on this content 'cuz we would really have lots and LOTS of different paths to choose in each Dungeon, and that maybe Criterion would be some sort of horizontal progression for Savage/Tome gear, but noooo...

Criterion is as hard as unreal most casual players that I know unreal is their favorite kind of content, so I don't think that would be an issue.

Even if there was one reward that was considered highly valued, it still is only one reward. That is to say all of Endwalkers new content shares a similar issue, almost everything you obtain on them is bound when obtained. You can do these for yourself but there's little to obtain that can be traded, and those values being very low since everybody can obtain them for themselves.

Unlike say, Bozja, Eureka, Faux Hallows, Treasure Dungeons. You're unlikely to get everything you need yourself in a reasonable time, and most of it isn't bound when obtained. So that content remains relevant.

I mean many mounts that should be given through content are placed in mog station, and on mages, almost every item for glamour in the game is the same thing, and honestly glow weapons from extremes on average are kind of eh in my opinion. If I'm being honest, glamor-wise, in the game, outside of what can be crafted, only 2 zones in the entire game have decent items that are not just recast recolor and rehashed in general, including the alliance raid in Endwalker and shallows compass.

Honestly, i just don't feel like they even try on gear anymore appearance wise which I honestly find disappointing due to the fact in the ff series hell even in the game there are glamours they could add directly from bosses.

I mean really there are way better things they could put in the game to make it rewarding, i just feel meha to the "rewards in the game" and I stopped caring when they added an alexander, and doggy of shadows to mogstation when they could have just put it as an achievement for clearing those 400 times.


I dont feel like what they add is worth the effort to get it looks horrible tbh or its just another lame title or boring machine mount

plus relic gear doesnt even last until the w/e the new cap level is so its hardly worth the effort to get... I'm sorry but on avarage glowy weapoons look horrible compared to some basic looking weapons that exist.. hell for white mages I still find the stone vigil staff one of the coolest in the game for the job.


Like I'm sorry but if the weapon is just another glow stone its not worth the effort, now if they make it like a living orgasming with stuff like dripping blood on swords, or ivys wraping around the weapon up your arm, or feet that emit a freezing chill animated effect that displays on the ground you walk on its not worth the effort

The reason for unsatisfying rewards is that tomestone gear is too strong. Why do any content at all when the best gear is rewarded for running expert roulette five times a week?

As long as tomestone gear is not nerfed basically every content will be dead on arrival.

Why bother farming for any gear when the next patch will have better gear that is handed for free? It's just for glam

And there's no overworld content where that gear even matters, stats don't matter, materia doesn't matter

The only real issue of criterion is the unnecessary restriction on revives and having to do the entire thing again if you wipe (absolutely overkill lol)
Take that and a look at the lackluster rewards and you got yourself dead content for most people unfortunately

because the content itself is actually really fun! It's just noone likes to cause a wipe 8mins into the dungeon just for sneezing at the wrong time it's very discouraging and punishing - their perfect play mentality is really bad for this game

aloalo literally rewarded a finished "relic" aswell as cool titles

Rewards end up unsatisfying because we already have too many of the same thing.

I have mounts I will never use.

I have minions I don't use at all (except for the ones needed to spawn S ranks).

I have titles that I don't care about.

I've got plenty of glamour options to choose from.

What is a truly satisfying reward? When the content is fun enough to repeat for its own sake and not just to grind out another mount/minion/title/glamour/etc.

Mao agrees with Jojoya. Mao also thinkings that if a quest funs enough and reward special enough, can makes a quest long and arduous buts peoples will still do its. That was what it was likes for Mao doing Skyscale questline in GW2. Whole questline was nearly as long as entire expansion and was much gruellings. However there was magic moments durings questline (likes playing with baby skyscale) and reward was singularly unique (FLIGHT with full grown Skyscale mount). That questline kept Mao busy for MONTHS. To Mao it was well worth the reward and so much funs.

At least irrelevant gear looks like a lot more effort went into it than other games I know that would put interesting gear on the store to buy for real money.
Not denying the valid points of time-spending on particular modes, events and challenges, but there is a silver lining to look at.
