I bet most of the current dev team forgot GC squadrons even exist.

It would probably be a downgrade for them as the AI of the Squadron Members still somehow manages to be generally better than the Trusts...

I am anti trust system, I wish it didn't even exist..
this kind of system is not bad at its own.. but it has been considered when they design an encounters or duties.. which it turns any thing to be more braindead that what its currently is

I always assumed Trusts were build on the Squadron system. I don't see a scenario where they'd expand or add Squadrons into the Trust system.

They could be worked into the Duty Support for ARR, HW and SB... As you do have occasions where you have random literally nameless NPCs doing the dungeons... Just have it be unlockable after joining one of the GCs, give people a proper light party to start with so instead of the filler NPCs you could bring Squadron members in.

This would be my central premise pretty much. I just want to be able to have Squadrons have relevance and just change the system slightly so if you do have Squadrons unlocked you can have your own special platoon of Trust Members you leveled yourself instead of a generic lot.

They'd have to go back and change AI to make it on par with Trust systems, which would just sorta ruin the fun imo. Squadrons are great murder machines, don't take that away from them.

Yeah, the squadrons are much dumber than the Trusts, which they compensate for by being completely busted strength-wise. Putting them into trusts would be a downgrade for them.

The squadron system is so much better than Trusts, and it had so much potential. They should have expanded/improved Squadrons instead of adding trusts and duty support.

Love that my squadron tank still uses the Paladin flash skill. I miss it so much.

I fully agree, I really question not just lowering the company level requirement on Squadrons to the first one, they already cover a lot of older optional dungeons and in my own opinion it seems like a waste of development time to make Duty Support when the Squadron system already covers something. I understand squadrons take a bit more effort and are a bit more janky to operate but still seems like an odd choice.

Agreed. Squadrons are more fun than Trust/Duty Support because they’re customizable for job, party composition, glamours and help you actually feel like a high ranking GC officer instead of just having a title that lets you buy gacha boxes. They could have created training items that cost GC seals to improve and tailor your squadron, like the chocobo raising system.

I also get that doing MSQ dungeons with story NPCs is cool. So I wish they would have just kept Duty Support to MSQ dungeons and put that dev time into enabling squadrons for optional dungeons so we can play with both systems.

I am once again bringing this back to the forefront. I want my Squadron to be in my Trust!

Squadrons should be spun out. They should be little instances about the size of guildhests. You can pop in with squadron, do a squadron specific run. Giving maybe a unique squadron reward, along the lines of random loot bags you get in other content.

They certainly did. Squadrons still use lost actions up to SB. For example, Gladiators will still use flash.

One the plus side it's cool to see those actions still in use from the before times.

Would give them a good reason to finally off a Scion too, so they wouldnt have to mechanically rely on them staying alive to do Trusts.
If anything that's the biggest clue always that nobody is going to be offed ever again.

While you're at it add squad/trust support for all content because there's only 1 brainrot way to play each job anyway so I might as well play with 7 bots that get everything right and at least remove the artificial difficulty of it being a forced 8 player thing.

It would help with MSQ I think if they didn't need a justification for why X characters have to be there, if it could just be our squadron. You can still have Trust Characters of the scions but even things like Duty Support could make dungeon content more varied.

I'd rather have my dumb but stupidly powerful Squadron members with me in dungeons than Trusts.

At this rate I get more personal interaction with them than the scions. You even get to see them train and stuff. I feel bad leaving them all alone in the barracks :(

The squadrons should've been THE trust system and they should've left Duty Support in their own tiny cage & never venture beyond helping people to solo queue. I will not change my mind.
