All the exploiters before 2.0 build.

Am I the only one a little annoyed at all of the people that exploited their way to level 50 on every job using broken/poorly designed game mechanics? There were evolving ways to cheat the game with regards to leveling quickly that so many people took advantage of. The people with billions of gil because there was nothing to spend it on and in early release builds it was way too easy to get.

I don't know... it just doesn't seem fair that all of these people are maxed out (especially on crafting jobs), and others will have to work 1000x harder than they did to get the same result. I'm not sure how you would fix something like this without causing the cheaters to quit the game. I do however feel the need to point out that a lot of maxed out accounts did not work that hard to get where they are.

I know a lot of the guilty party will have some harsh words for me.. but I had to say it, it just isn't fair.

Bet a million gil you woundn't be saying this if you had taken advantage of it. And lol, what exploit to get crafting classes to 50? It's easier now than it was back then, and in 2.0 it'll only get easier.

Honestly it wouldn't feel the same to me knowing I exploited to max out all my jobs, which is why I never did it.

What exploit are you talking about? Leveling right now is as fast as it's going to be in 2.0, they're not creating a grinding game.

Then make a character on a new server once 2.0 releases. I'll be making one, at least.

Im happy to report that barely partied with all my hard/easy/depends on how you look at it/ classes to 50. Its called time spent actually playing not an exploit. Also how does the way others lvl affect your game play? Check the sig I worked me arse off w/o an exploit. I must admit I only had Cul doh 50 before the crafting change but now its not as much a grind anymore.

As someone who used the PL "issue" they had last year for about 70 of my total DoW/M levels and someone who got a few mil spamming leves, I can partially agree with the OP.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a huge advantage, but those who played the game that way certainly have an advantage over those who didn't and if you can't at least admit that then... well... I think you might be in denial :(. But I certainly wouldn't exactly use the words "took advantage of" since it was a legitamate part of the game at the time and no one is wrong for doing so. If you didn't, well that's great. But what you're saying is everyone is naughty for taking a cookie out of the cookie jar when the lid was left open intentionally.

I intentionally don't level all my jobs, just so I can experience what leveling with be like in 2.0. I thought I heard the devs talking about slowing the leveling pace down after 2.0's launch. That may consume content too quickly, if it's anything at the current pace; especially with a multiclass based game.

Besides, there won't be much exp to gain via PL for normal grinding, it's going forward to leve/quest based leveling like in WoW.

Three of my friends used every exploitative way BG or some other website posted to level quickly, since release. I highly doubt they were intended forms of exp since they were fixed (obviously). And I'm not going to list them off because 1) I'm not even sure if I'm allowed to here, 2) you want to know you can do some research yourself. That being said I don't understand the "I'm just smarter because I leveled quicker" argument. I also don't understand the "everyone stabbed Cesar so I did it too" argument. Obviously something that is wrong is still wrong even if a million people decided to do it.

Where it comes into harming the experience of the game... My three friends, and a majority of the linkshell we made together all have maxed out accounts. These people rushed through whatever content was available and simply don't want to do anything but max tier stuff. Honestly I don't even feel they have a right to be grinding high tier stuff without even learning to play their characters, but that is another issue alltogether.

Part of the whole mmo experience is playing and leveling with friends, something that I can't do now because of them abusing exploits. Me playing with them these days amounts to an hour of them pretending to powerlevel me (and failing at it because they don't understand a majority of the game mechanics), them making it seem like I owe them a favor, then me just telling them to go because I'm not having any of that. I'd just go out and make some new friends to play with but that's kinda hard with such a low pop game... Most of the people I meet don't even speak english.

For those of you that played FF11 or hell, even WoW or some other MMO... You cannot tell me that you didnt have fun leveling with random people and your friends... Since I started playing again I see maybe one or two people my level range who refuse to talk/respond to me. The second I start killing in their camp hoping they notice and invite me, they switch to their 50 and kill everything in site till I leave... I just feel like there is not enough of a true low level presence in the game.

I don't believe there's ever been a gathering exploit, unless you count switching to a DoL class in the last seconds of a Chocobo Caravan run (this doesn't work so well anymore -- the exp is gimped a ton).

EXP is easier than ever now...

You are aware the game has been out for almost two years right?

To be fair. Two years is WAYYY more than enough time to get all dom/dow and dol/doh to 50. You are correct...to a degree you are correct about the horrible systems that used to be in place, but you are wrong to consider any of those sytemz to be exploits. We, as players had no choice but to deal with broken systems when the game was released and as they tweaked certain game mechanics. Its totally unfair and snobby of you to assume we all took advantage of these systems, when in truth, what choice did we have? Yes once upon a time, the game was focused around leve quests and you could get more exp from them than grinding.....but the direction of the game has changed since then and there are now otjer methods to getting better exp.

Regarding crafting, it is much much eazier and faster now than at any point since launch, so really your argument in that regard is invalid. Also too, since theyve implemented chains for exp leveling up is about just as fast as it used to be. I think that your problem is that you are mad you didnt stick with the game when you considered it "broken" and are now whining that you dont have max everything, when in fact you very well could have, if you chose to play the game and work hard.

I play everyday, i have for almost two years, its not fair that you come out of nowhere assuming that everyrhing was so easy way back when. Ive been through every change this game has been through and stuck through it all. If you would have, you would have something you could be proud of too. I think its snobby and completly dickish for you to assume no one worked for anything they have, or imply that because we stuck with this game, that we took advantage of "exploits". Btw im not rich, never have been.

Quit asking to he spoonfed. Go work hard to get what you want. We, who have stuck by this game would also appreciate it, if you stfu about how unfair it was, that you chose not to stay.

Ya I would argue its much easier to level than ever before, DoL/H especially. So there isn't much of an argument in my book.

Also, still have no idea what exploits OP is retroactively referring to, because the biggest exploits (mainly PLing) are still there >_>
