Script Error

Today when I tried opening the launcher I get a script error:

I was not able to find it under task manager and when I close it I can still run the Launcher. I am currently trying to repair the Launcher and reinstalling ffxiv but now I am waiting for the download. I still got the error even after Launcher repair.
I couldn't find any other posts with the same issue as me on the forums.

coming in to say that i'm also getting this error, no previous fixes mentioned on reddit, these forums etc. have worked, currently going through the process of reinstalling

Same error - with this many people having it I can assume its not a us problem.

Same thing, and it only just started; I've opened the launcher a couple of times today without this issue and I've done nothing else with my computer/internet between then and now, so I don't think it's something changed on my end.

That said, I can still login and play without issue, so... no idea what's going on but it doesn't seem terribly inconvenient at the moment at least.

Also experienced this error all of a sudden.

Same here, came here to check if it was just me, but it seems not.
Edit: I am on steam version.

I too am getting this error and nothing I've done has gotten rid of it. I didn't have this issue yesterday.

I am getting the same error too on the Windows PC client launcher
The error was not there as of this morning 6AM EST.

I was able to hit "no" on the pop-up and log-in.

When I put the web address into chrome to go to it I got a message saying something about it flagging two anti-tracker lists in place by ublock origin.

Probably google doing some stupid crap again

I was once able to click through the script error and to start the download/update but then the above-mentioned error occurred. I uninstalled FF14 from Steam, deleted the remaining folders as well as all temp files and cookies, deactivated all my browsers' (Firefox and Edge) add-ons and security, and restarted my PC to try it again - all that to no avail! Since my subscription has ended, I won't try to fix this to play the game anytime soon...

PS I've got a new SSD and a new Win11 installation; all my drivers are up-to-date.

I had a friend with the Unable to complete version update error, it was not to do with the first script error, but all he had to do was go to Control Panel (not settings) -> Clock and Region -> Region -> Administrative -> Change System Locale and tick the checkbox at the bottom something about worldwide language support.

(Please note the above is to help with the Unable to Complete Version Update error, NOT the google script error)

I've done the unproxy and data deletion and launcher reinstallation of the edge and chrome. And I still get the error.

Where can I find this "Control Panel" you are referring to? (I didn't find it in Steam or the launcher.)

Oh I mean the Windows control panel. It still exist in Win11 but you have to manually go to settings and type control panel in the settings search box.

I also have this error. Very annoying. Still looking for a solution.

reinstalling did not work, going to reddit and seeing similar posts does confirm that this is a wider issue & probably beyond our control, as another user said if you hit "no" the launcher works and the game runs just fine so there's probably something that needs to be done from their side, not ours

I'm having the same issue - I tried the World Clock thing someone suggested above and that didn't solve anything for me. :(

Hopefully we get a fix soon!

Yea the clock thing was to help someone who had a unable to complete version update error, there is no fix for the googletagmanager script error that we can do, its up to SE/google to fix the error on their script.

Thanks! I annoys me that we can only update with a subscription, which I don't intend to renew at least before the script error is corrected. I shall try it then! :-)

Yeah I am also going through the same, just started happening a couple hours ago, wasnt here yesterday.

Exact same URL is popping up with a Script error text.

Makes me happy that this thread is created newly. Sounds like some folks are having similar issue.

Also having this issue and it only started today and none of the fixes online work at all.

I get the same script error message with same URL in the script error message too and i tried reinstalling FFXIV but after reinstalling FFXIV launcher i still keep getting same script error.

Looks like the problem has fixed itself, the error is not present today.

So yesterday after I started this post I did a Restore Game Data and when I reopened the launcher the script error happened again. After the game reinstalled the launcher still gave me the error. Now today, I got no error after opening the launcher. Sorry for anyone that are still experiencing this because I don't really have an answer as to what fixed this.

Since the script error seems to have been fixed, I wanted to give it another try. Sadly, your suggestion didn't work. Thanks anyway! (Though, now I feel stupid for having subscribed again...)

I found the solution in "hidden" Windows settings, which are basic and much simpler than the solutons given by SE and others! Sadly, I forgot where I found it but I just had to allow FF14 do interact freely with the internet and Windows. I thought I had done that before but it registered not corretly (there was a tick on FF14 but neither on "Private" nor "Public").

I get that error a lot in game and then the game quits
