Can WHM please get a leveling rework so that its level 80 kit is substantially available by 60? I just want Divine Benison, Tetra, and the Afflatus set available in the majority of roulettes. Weakened down via traits, but available.

I get that it can be boring, but do you really need those abilities at lower level?
If you said that dpsing while leveling sucks bad, that I can understand. Is there a need to use those spells while leveling from 60-80?
healing is actually more demanding around level 50 to 70 (including), for level 80 content you have plenty of tools, and above 80 tanks and dps start to get their sustain tools.
I really don't have a problem with healing in the 50-80 range, I have all the tools I need and when it's really bad I actually have a reason to use my MP.
I would argue that this may not be just limited to WHM, but to healers and tanks in general
Getting a general quality of life check on those 2 roles to make level sync feel better would be a nice improvement for the game
Just level it through pvp and stop playing healer elsewhere :/
Welcome to DRG gameplay
one of the jobs i took to lv100 was whm took a few days to get their and complete job quests but overall a fun job to level.
I would not say we need it, but in general they need to rethink ALL of that and start giving the basics WAY earlier, they seem to love upgrades anyways... its not even the "i need this now!" but more... im just used to having certain skils and not gettin em for many instances sucks - and vice versa, sometimes i tend to forget all X5-X0 skills of the expansion as im barely ending up in high enough duties to use em lol
personally, I wouldnt change it.
my reasoning is people get to cap now without knowing how to heal, having bigger skills earlier will just make it easier to do that. heck, people make it to cap now using only basic heals, adding in the later skills earlier doesnt help them at all. I tend to find if a nice challnge to get stuck in a low level duty and have to remember how to do it properly using only half my kit.
as a healer... its not much different than level 100....
I'm also a healer main and my objection is that a hotbar I've set up to handle 80+ WHM beautifully, that feels very good to play with, is completely unusable at level 50. It's not that it's underpowered; it's that you aren't using the same buttons on your hotbar to heal with while leveling that you are in 80+ content. If the potencies were massively lowered when synced down, that would be fine, but the Afflatus trio, Divine Benison, and Tetragrammaton are your go to heals at higher levels and those buttons are just grayed out in the majority of content.
I struggled to stay awake doing Sage through Dawntrail content.
White Mage in old content must be absolute murder these days if you have any functioning brain cells.
There's a few things I could do to make WHM feel better at lower levels while just making the entire toolkit overall more engaging without changing the job all that much.
- Let's go ahead and introduce the Lily System at level 20. Change Cure 1 and Medica 1 into Afflatus Solace and Rapture when a Lily is available, getting rid of the need of having dedicated buttons for these skills while also granting WHM more sustain in lower level content, where it might actually need it. This also removes the need of Freecure.
- Reintroduce Protect as an AoE damage Mitigation skill on a 60s CD on the Lily System at level 25. This helps to address WHM's lack of AoE mitigation.
- Rework Stoneskin and Divine Seal as low level versions of Divine Benison and Temperance at level 33 and 38 respectively. Just QoL to make the leveling system not feel so barren.
- Change Aero/Dia to follow a similar system as Thunder, where we have 1 for Single Target and the other is AoE. Another QoL change because the loss of Aero 3 after the 1st Holy stun is still awful so having an AoE DoT to speed up the process is just a nice bonus.
- Have Regen/Medica 2 grant a proc that frontloads the damage of Aero/Dia (potency may need to be adjusted). Just a change to make GCD heals not be a DPS loss to utilize.
- Reintroduce Fluid Aura as a Proc after using Cure 2/3 that upgrades into Banish at higher levels. Same reason as the Regen/Medica proc, just a means of making our GCDs not be a DPS loss to utilize.
I do think more of the core elements of WHM's kit need to be accesible earlier. For being so focused on GCD heals, the GCDs that are the bread and butter of the kit are available SO much later than the other healers. We don't technically NEED these skills earlier, but the leveling process definitely doesn't feel FUN.
I don't like leveling healers and tanks either. Bless to the folk that can level them. I might just say screw it and buy the adventurer boosts from the ff store just cuase it feels impossible to level in dungeons
Me, still used to MMOs where only very specific classes could solo any enemies at all in the open world and that was specifically what they existed for as they were mostly useless in groups: /shrug
I dunno, just too used to MMOs being forced-grouping-endeavours I think. I can very much recommend not levelling alone. We're playing a social game after all, level your WHM as a thing you do after work while chatting on voice with a friend or two, it's fun and you get to catch up a lot!
Leveling WHM does really suck. If you compare it to AST that has Light Speed and Essential Dignity from the very first dungeon you see that it's just harder to play. AST cards provide MP abundance from level 30 onward while WHM struggles with it's MP economy well into Heavensward. There is clearly little to no thought put into WHM being beginner friendly especially at lower levels. WHM needs Tetra as an entry level skill to have access to some instant healing similar to Essential Dignity. The entire WHM kit feels so awkward and broken when you realize the Afflatus skills are the core of the kit and the system isn't even fully realized until Shadow bringers. WHM skills desperately need to be shifted around the leveling process to make healing more accessible and comfortable. The game is fundamentally different now with every other healer having tons of options for MP free healing and movement and WHM playing almost exactly the same as it did in ARR. There are Ultimates where WHM only has access to a single target Afflatus skill. No misery and no rapture is wild for some of the hardest content in the game. Why does WHM have to be so bad?
I find whm to be pretty fun to level....always let pplhp drop to 20% then heal them, mega pulls help u get better at popping all buttons, and overall u usually have less to worry about.
I just did level 1-50 as WHM on a new char and.... i didn't had time to get bored (started the character on thursday and i just finished ARR tonight with only Bahamut missing).
In fact, the 1-60 (and even up to 70) is probably the most fun part as a WHM.... After that the Tank became too OP and you have too much healing tools to even break a sweat on normal content :/
