Let's say something positive [SPOILERS AHEAD FOR DAWN TRAIL NORMAL RAIDS]

So I'm just now finishing up the normal raids for DT, and I gotta say that I love them. The theme of the whole raid tier in general makes me happy. I haven't done Savage for them yet, and I really want to.

The whole tier makes me think of "What if Paper Mario: TTYD, and Undertale had a baby." It might be a stretch but the fights give me the former's impression, with the latter being the story. What are everyone else's thoughts?

To be clear, we're not talking about fight mechanics. Just the design of characters, arena motifs, and over all motivations.

I've actually thoroughly enjoyed this raid and it's probably my favorite for how fun it is.
I especially like the announcer during the fights, it's a nice touch and it's fun that he comments on what the party does depending on their state.
I'm curious where things will go from here and I hope that the rest of the fights are as unique and have their own songs like they've been.
It may be too much to ask for, but it definitely reminds me of the days of watching WWE where fighters had their own themes.

I cannot wait for the Rawk Hawk cameo

I hope they stick the landing, so far I'm far more interested in the story of the raid series than the MSQ.

EX1 Feels like an Undertale Geno battle to me, and I mean that as a compliment! The forward/backward half and conga sections of EX2 too

Depends on the execution, but I could see “it’s all acting” working as a subversion. Overuse of feral souls is bad for you, but not to the degree they’re saying - you know, twisting the truth a little just to get the wol invested. They’d still need to resolve the soul thread somehow, but there’s bound to be some twist towards the 10th fight.

To explain a bit more on the undertale portion. I feel like the whole soul thing being apart of saving someone is similar. Or it might just be me because I was watching a lot of the fan game's videos.

That would be awesome! To have a fight like that would probably feel intense. I wonder how they'd do it.

I immediately thought “anime tournament arc!” once I began this tier of raids and I’m all for it.

Absolutely love Dawntrail's raids. Best FFXIV raid since Alexander.

The whole raid series just reads like a WWE tournament narrative and I'm ngl I'm here for it. Give me more eccentric and over the top tournament arc nonsense, I'm loving it so far.

The overall theme does nothing for me but the fights are decent fun.
