Quality over Quantity request: Seasonal events

Summer event is here and...it's just talking to some npc, wander around getting one item and coming back. Tadá! You got your emote, see you in the next unworked and totally unpassionate seasonal event.

Since..i don't know, 2018 or 2019 the seasonal evens have been totally uninspired, just talk twice with some NPC, run around the city, come back and that's it. Looks like the devs are doing those things just because they have to and not because they want/care? So...maybe if instead of having so many small and pointless "season events" we had like...3 major ones (summer, halloween, winter...?) they would be better? With more interesting stuff and content? I remember the halloween one had us going to versions of Haukke Manor and solving some puzzles. Other events had some wierd fates involved scattered around Eorzea, in one we had to even play with some ingame toys...I don't know...maybe the word EVENT should really mean something more than "talk to 2 npc and that's it".

At this point it looks like they doing this kind of stuff just so they have an excuse to put those cosmetics in the mogstation in the future. A shame.

I mean these events are mini advertisements for the older items from previous iterations with no substance. I'm not surprised. Look forward to next year when this year's stuff will get slapped into that event.

You know what's the worst part ? We don't even have the quantity :D

Funny...I seem to recall people whining about holiday events taking too long back when they were lengthy.

You think people would learn to not wish on the SquareEnix monkey paw, but they just can't seem to help themselves.

I went in with low expectations and they met them. Expecting a lot from a seasonal event is crazy,

so basically you have 0 standards

I had to learn the hard way that complaining until you get what you want is the true meta. Forget adapting. Forget accepting. Forget putting in a ton of work. I wouldn't be surprised if these events were made just to show that this is what people was asking for. Oh well.

Events should be EVENTS, not a couple of sidequests with a little prize at the end. Yo kai is a good one cuz it's more than just talk to NPC one, then follow the breadcrumbs back to NPC one.

I miss the jumping tower, I loved that. I keep hoping they bring it back every year.
I like when there are accompanying fates on the beach too, because then the beach feels busy and alive. Seeing the community donning beach gear for the summer events and just hanging out always added a lot of color to the Summer Event, I miss it.

I don't recall this being a prevalent complaint ever.
If there was one or two shouting about it, they certainly aren't the majority.

But the fate was the most important part as it was what could be called "event" where all the players gather and do something together gameplaywise. Running around the city clicking invisible stuff, then talking to some npc and teleporting back to limsa is hardly an event.

They’re just phoning it in these days.

The quality could certainly use an increase. Even if the seasonal events are just kind of "throwaway" quests they only need to use once for a few weeks and then never use them again, they should be able to do better then just some 10-20 minute basic Go here -> Do a thing -> Go here -> Do a thing -> Go here -> You're done, here is your event item and achievement.

Like...a summer event where a bunch of kids want to have a big water bomb fight to beat a heat wave, only to have someone take things incredibly literally and bring actual water bombs, and you have to fight them off in a fate. Beat the fate with a gold and get a water bomb core. Trade like 20, or 50, or 100 water bomb cores for a reskin of the Kobold's Bomb Palanquin mount where instead of you sitting on a metal bench, you're sitting in a hammock which is tied to and carried around by a bunch of different colored water bombs.

The quality doesn't need to be insane, but enough to make the event actually feel like an event.

There's plenty of people here attempting the tower and chatting in /shout chat. I dunno why there has to be a FATE when it would've probably been as dull as the other non-PvE ones.

Events? on my FFIXV? since when?.

The summer event in GW2 is going on right now that includes two zones, a meta event, like six daily race challenge events, a scavenger hunt, a platforming challenge treasure hunt, a PVP/WVW reward track with boxes that drop rare loot.

Expect more from a game you're paying for monthly.
