With 2.0 coming around the corner, parties will be going straight. Typical parties will no longer exist, and a single player game is on the rise! You will be lone adventures seeking quest, after quest, after quest.
With those quests come dungeons, oh those dungeons, they can be a lonesome, dark, scary area. Though, don't you worry! You will need at least 4 to enter any type of dungeon, because all dungeons will be instanced, so get your instanced grind on if you run out of quests!
Those poor mobs, who will grind on you, sorry, but no one... It saddens my heart to see a party of 6 take down a Camate no more. Why can't old school parties be just as good as quests or instanced raids? Come! Join me! Together, we will be the salvation of Final Fantasy 14!

It's kind of ironic to me that when FFXIV came out people told SE that they hated the solo leveling system (leves) and wished for the XP gains from group quests to be raised so that we could do exp parties because its what we enjoy. In lieu of this someone at SE got their head out of there a** and made that change happen, we were all happy.
Now they are taking that away from us again, not really sure why... If they want to dumb the game down to appeal to WoW players that's fine and all... but at least leave group exp parties an equal and viable options in conjunction with the new s****y quest system... Apparently learning from past mistakes is not one of SE's strong points... -

In all seriousness I would like to imagine these quests will be more like guildleves that actually have some sort of fleshed out story, perhaps interweaving into a greater tale. As you complete them more parts of the story might become available to you.
Rokien you seriously need to calm down with this "the sky is falling bit" every time you decided to jump to conclusions. Though I hear tale there is a mat that could help you with that -

Believe it or not, quests do not have to make a game worse..
Some people enjoy questing rather than grinding. No one said FFXIV is going the SWTOR way so calm down.
I also don't see how a game is better / has a better 'community' just because 8 people had to suffer together by mindlessly grinding monsters for hours upon hours upon hours.
You could say "It builds up a sense of belonging together" or something but that's far from how reality is.
Extremely few people remember who they were in a grind party with or become lasting friends with their along-sufferers.
The real MMO aspect has always been in primal fights, dungeons run and stuff like that which you do with your LS, your friends and so on. Nothing's going to change about that just because you level up by doing quests instead of grinding.
Also, it wasn't said you can't grind anymore in 2.0, just that it won't be the most effective way of leveling anymore.
So please stop overreacting over every little thing again..?u.U -

Still don't get how grinding on dodos in a field for 50 levels is more "hardcore," "intelligent," or "skillful" than story-driven content such as quests. Quests that actually give you interesting, varied tasks to do that directly involve you with the in-game world, the people of each area, their struggles, their history, and so on. So that each new area you explore means something more than "there's a really nice colibri camp over in this corner."

It's not about skill full or anything, people enjoy it, and nobody is going to do normal exp parties if quest grinding is faster.
Sure I will do normal exp parties IF I can get a party.
But Masa it would be impossible to do if I can't get said party. Also, just look at star wars, its purely quests and it's going free to play.
I just want parties to be on par with those quest grindingness. That's not much to ask.
Also sure, there will be quests with parties no duh, but the only reason why you would need a party in a quest would be to kill a boss. They are going to make it solo friendly but if you wanna do quests together you may. -

I am all for solo content, but they need to keep the game focused on groups. Group XP leveling should always far exceed what is possible for solo. Solo should be possible but never equal and never better. Quest are fine but they need to make them where doing them in groups gives better rewards. And "you can finish them quicker" is not enough for a reward.
If that is not the case you are forcing everyone to solo screwing over those who like to group, like in so many other mmos. -

Well in the end it still boil down to what we do, not like going to stop us from leveling in parties! We as a community can show them we don't care for quest leveling. If they see people rather xp in party over quest they will cater to the majority. But it begins with us as a community!!!
I still think most of the ppl that will be playn 2.0 are the ppl that's playn now, ppl that bought the game at lunch and some FFXI players. But that's my opion. -

The reason why WoW works with a Quests as a form of leveling is because not only do they allow quests for people that are soloing, they also give players the option to party up to do group content in a dungeon.
