I need both, I like 11 still, and I love xiv. :XYall use to have a bundle deal in 1.0, but it was removed? With the upcoming 24 man, please give us a bundle package!

i would like this too. i never got to play XI, but i've been watching a lot about it and to be honest i think i'd like it more than XIV.
do you know how current-day XI feels for a brand new player? do i get to experience everything in the game like XIV? or does stuff get blown through and never seen like in WoW?
Honestly? I can get behind this.
Squeenix will never do it though. Those ancient PlayStation 2 servers NEED that money to maintain them you know.

XI now has systems to make it easier for the solo player, but you need to investigate a lot to understand what is going on and basically play with tons of wikis open, lol.
I would love to have both XI and XIV under a single payment, but it seems the technology to keep XI running is a bit of a logistical nightmare.
I'd like to see this.
I played XI way back when and did want to try it again (though my old account is long gone) so I'd also hoped for something like this. Seems a long shot, but best way to make it happen is by letting them know people want it.
Considering FFXI is well and truly in it's Indian Summer, officially being in maintenance mode, I doubt they'll ever do it (because that means FFXI's subs will officially decline, which will be more than enough incentive for SE to finally pull the plug on Vana'diel.).
Also SE did offer something like that over a decade ago: a FFXI sub reduction back when FFXIV 1.0 was first launched (if you moved your FFXI Playonline account to the then new SE Account Management System and then linked your FFXIV 1.0 account with the FFXI one) - few bothered though, although there was a unique bonus item thrown in as a carrot for FFXIV if you did (the Hermes Shoes, which I still possess). Eventually SE just decided it wasn't worth the effort and scrapped that offer, and have never done anything like that since. So I don't see SE bringing anything like that back, alas.
This is actually the single reason I haven't tried out 11. I've been interested, but it feels like it should be included as part of the FF14 sub at this point.
It was always temporary, and it had a maximum of three months.

I haven't tried 11 yet but i would if this was a thing tbh.
I played it during the 3rd extension i think (the one with the puppeteer).
It's an old school MMO.
I don't know how it evolved but, the UI was horrible, almost everything was time gated (to continue this quest you must be as this precise place, the right day under a specific moon at 2.00 Vana'diel time), the leveling system was also old school (fighting "red" mobs with a full party in an open world).
The game wasn't bad if you liked the first EQ (since the Dev team never hidded the fact that it's was what they wanted to do : a FF based EQ)
I replayed current XI last year (am a 75 era vet) and honestly the solo experience in XI is better than XIV. None of the content can be just facerolled through, even the stuff you can solo with trusts. If you just want to do the stories, you can mostly solo all of them, but you will require a party for some fights here and there.
But of course ! That'll be 25 bucks ! ... what ? :3
I would like for them to do a bundled sub option for both games at a discount price instead of having to pay for both then just keep ff14 retainers and ff11 mog wardrobes as separate subscriptions.
this makes me happy to hear! i think i'll actually give it a shot then come next pay day. i really like more difficult MMOs and FFXIV is fun, but it is just not the kind of battle content i really like. even though i've been playing for ten years now. i really miss that feeling of being integrated into the overworld and things having stakes to them.
thanks!
I get it's in maintenance mode, but that's also another reason why a combo sub would be nice. I'd pay an extra penny to be able to have both subs!
I'm glad to see so many people have happy memories of 11. That game is so precious to me ;-;
Same! Gave that game so many years of my life. Made friends there that I'm still friends with to this day. Of all the games I've played throughout my life, it's easy one of the most influential on me as a gamer as well. Wouldn't trade my experience with 11 for anything ^_^
