Both my Friend- and Blacklist are constantly about to burst and i'm pretty sure there are others out there which have the same Problem.
Can have have more Slots for those 2 Lists please?

just curious, how easily mad you're to burst with black list
I filled my blacklist several times just blocking people spamming for dance clubs.. so yeah this would be nice.
I'd prefer an increase to the term filter, which is the intended method for blocking RMT, club spam and fc ads.
Easy, people start dodging the Termfilter by using stuff like "venueAD" or by Using capital letters mid Word. And thats not just for nightclubs. The biggest weakness of the Termfilter is that it only filters the EXACT word you typed in.
I guess an increase of the Termfilter would help like Reinha suggested.
Also: despite what some people say, you can meet a LOT of unpleasant people during 9 Years of playing, expecially when you played during the first Seasons of The Feast. We still had normal Group chat back then.
If things are purely clientside, it's theoretically possible to be unlimited. Gearsets are an example, where people used certain methods to significantly increase them beyond what SE allowed, so SE did this officially in a patch and it wasn't even an issue for them to do so. However, one of the issues in 1.0 was relying too heavily on scripts (aka file reading) slowed the game down. I would like to hope modern specs make this less of a problem now, but I don't know.
When it involves the server in any form, the limits protect the amount of data transferred to the server, the data being actively held in memory as well as the amount of database traffic. It may seem like a small increase to one person, but when you multiply this increase by thousands of players per world or tens of thousands per data center, a marginal increase can have a huge impact and that's what they are worried about.
Still, I would like to believe that where there is a will there is a way. If you really want to do something with code, you can find a way to make it work that doesn't cause issues. It's just problem-solving, a basic part of programming.
They said that now they have tackled the blacklist, they are going to look at the friends list so we'll see what happens with that.
This would be great, but theres fundamental issues even with the new filter system. You can block words but will still see the message: "Message could not be displayed because of term filter 4" followed by "This Message could not be displayed because of term filter 2" why make a chat filter if you still have to see annoying messages?
Sometimes its still 2-4 messages in a row like that spamming the chat. It is a start in the right direction but whoever is responsible for those systems should be placed somewhere else
If they don't want to increase how many people can be on our friend list, they should at least make it easier to remove people. I've been close to the cap for years and it's always an ordeal to remove people because you can only do it one at a time and the list reloads immediately so you have to scroll back down.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind an increase either. While my blacklist has graciously remained low (unless emote spammers are near where my RP scene is, then they're temporarily added on until we move or the scene is done), my friends list does tend to get high.
a non-shit implementation of the term filter would help too. wild that it's case sensitive and has a minimum character limit.
judging by the discourse lately i think i want a bigger blacklist too smh
Just like every other social feature XIV adds, it's the bare minimum, dumbest idea possible... Can't filter out wildcards, can't filter out things less than four characters... Can't blacklist people and not get them in dungeons... Why did it take over a decade for us to still not have features that other MMOs have actually had for over a decade?
