So, about hair clipping.... (Yeah, I know, "that again")

I've seen a lot of discussion on it already, but in all cases, it ends only on "well, we can only accept, that is how things are".

And of course, the usual responses are mostly the same:
"if it bothers you so much, you will need to use other hairstyle, or other glamours"

But isn't it sad to get limited on this way? The opinion that there's no easily possible solution for it, is almoust depressive for me, as someone who loves this game and appreciate it's potential. And this issue has made me even desappointed after Dawntrail's release, because, ironically, most of the new gear that has picked my interest, have clipping issues with my hair.

So why is this so complicated to solve? can't we have some hair variant linked to every long hair, that is shortened or tied to avoid this issue, or even, like an Idea I saw on other discussion posts, made possible to us to link hairstyles on our glam plates?

I understand that solving this problem in a perfect way, giving advanced physics for long hairstyles is complicated an unrealistic, but come on, we have simpler ways of solving it.

Please, give me your thoughts on it, let's dream together a little, for a future with less hair clipping.

(Sorry for the long post, but I had to vent a little of my frustration, as a big and loyal fan of the Au Ra-exlusive long straight hair)

This is honestly infuriating, and I hate that the only thing we the players can do is turn to violating ToS via mods, apart from complaining into what feels like a void.

I'd sacrifice all the shards for this option.

Would love to see hairstyles linked individually to glams. Sadly, the negativity toward clipping in general is why we probably will never see substantially longer hairstyles.

After 24 years of MMO.... i'm at the point where i don't care about hair clipping anymore.
By now i consider this a "common feature" that all MMO share....

So, generaly, i use either short hair or one with a ponytail...

I think you should get used to it, because it won't disapear anytime soon (even some famous MMO with top notch graphics still have hair clipping)

The problem is, to fix the hair clipping you would need a complete game engine overhaul. And you would need a sort of physics engine. Und this would increase the minimum requirements further because physics calculations are very expensive. And i would not expect, that a small indie company like SQEX has the ressources for it.

Yeah buddy let's see all these brokies trying to run the game on their macbook pro and ps5 who were complaining about the graphics overhaul to then have to deal with emulating not only clothing physics but hair physics on every rendered character around them. But no, it's Square Enix being lazy :)

Oo?
PS5 version is fine. FPS drop in crowded city was already there before the graphics update, and it run perfectly in Dungeon/Trials/Raid.
And i don't remember complaint from PS5 users.

So..... hmmm... yeah... right...

Also, to answer the post you quoted : all of this will not erase hair clipping.... proof : BDO have occasionnal hair clipping.

well, consider yourself lucky for having the option of violating the ToS (wich is nothing but fair, considering Square's lack of action towards this issue), but let me tell you something, I'm a console player, NOT EVEN THIS I CAN DO, I can only accept it ;-;

That's exctly my point, I know it's unrealistic to think of this issue being solved, but isn't possible to work out with some kind of bypass on it? can be even a poorly made, jury-rigged-fix of some kind, even, like I said, just cut the hair extention where it would clip into a hood, by example (in a lot of clothes this would be fine, like, for instance, the new Vanguard Jacket of Healing)

I remember playing some Korean MMO(Tera?) that had an option to automatically put your character's hair in a bun if it would clip with an outfit's collar. Did something like that never catch on because it would have been too much work?
