FFXIV copies one piece. in every way shape and form.

ARR is literally post-timeskip One Piece. Same goes for Heavensward and Stormblood. The Scions... who are they? The Straw Hats??? They literally copied every character from One Piece. Yoshida is trying super hard to be like Oda, but it will never happen. Half of Stormblood is about pirates—remind you of a certain show?

One Piece is superior in every way, shape, and form. It's the show that changed lives forever. I'm tired of these FFXIV marks and fanboys who think it's peak fiction when it literally copied One Piece in almost every way, shape, and form. Thancred is just a low-budget Zoro.

No matter how hard it tries, FFXIV will never capture the magic that One Piece offers. It's time to accept that some inspirations are too transparent, and FFXIV fans need to realize that their beloved game sails in the wake of a much greater legend.

One Piece is literally post-timeskip Dragon Ball. Same goes for Jaya Arc and Thriller Bark Arc. The Straw Hats... who are they? The Z Fighters??? They literally copied every character from Dragon Ball. Oda is trying super hard to be like Toriyama, but it will never happen. Half of One Piece is about fighters—remind you of a certain show?

The fact that people think you're baiting is evidence that human beings learn.

Yoshida pulled inspiration from Everquest, which had some superior systems, so he's copying it.
Everquest pulled inspiration from Ultima and DnD, so they copied it.

My brother in Hydaelyn do you not understand how inspiration works? Shoulders of giants, and all that? By your logic everything can be reduced to the first time a neanderthal saw a bird cracking a nut on a log and how we keep stealing the transcendental and inspired story telling of cave writings.

Besides, we all know Yoshida drew far more inspiration from Sailor Moon and is actively copying those storylines. He's wearing his moon-princess crown as we speak scribbling away furiously to find a way to make Thancred Mask save the moon princess Minfillia.

I felt that some of 2.0 was inspired by star wars. Van Belsar looked and sounded like Vader. Garleans were pretty much the Imperials. The Ascians were the sith.

Final Fantasy has always wore its Star Wars inspiration badge on its sleeve proudly. Players have frequently been a group of rebels fighting a powerful empire, and yes: Biggs and Wedge are named exactly after who you think they are.
