The Arcadion abbreviations - R vs M

GAMERS there seems to be two competing camps vying for control over this raid series's abbreviations, namely those who would name the raids along the lines of R1N/R1S, and those who would name them M1N/M1S. This is a very decisive and important issue and I wish to know where we stand on it
Personally I am Team R for several reasons
1. Makes sense for the name, R is pretty easy to associate with "Arcadion" and M is nowhere in the title at all
2. It fits the wrestling theme, Round 1, R1, etc
3. One of the M-tribe might say "well obviously we call it M because it's literally right there in the name of the duty" however to that I say what shall you do when the next tier comes out and the name is "AAC Cruiser-Heavyweight M1" or whatever but then it ends up being called M5 anyways? A glaring discrepancy! Also since when did we set abbreviations based off the duty names instead of the series names? Was there really anyone calling the first Pandaemonium raid "C1" because of "First Circle"?
So tell me, which side are YOU on? You ARE supporting the (R)ight side of history, yes? Now I do understand the consolegames wiki has presently been hijacked by M partisans who have claimed M's sole dominion over the abbreviation however do not give up fellow R bros, we need to stand strong in the days to come if the Arcadion is to be rated R instead of M

Its M, its in the name. The only reason R was speculated was because we didn't know.

Yeah, R has nothing to do with it, the game calls them M1-4 i.e. "AAC Light-heavyweight M1". So its M1N/M1S

Yes, but calling it R would have the same exact problem, no? Each weight class is still held under the Arcadion name so if you just called them R1N/R1S or whatever, there's still going to be an issue going into the next tier unless SE completely changes the name. Seems like there's no reason it wouldn't be AAC Cruiser-Heavyweight M# though.

I would just forgo the M and R because they're redundant and each series would still be easy enough to abbreviate. Just truncate the weight class so you get something like LHN1/LHS1, CHN1/CHS1, etc. You could likely shorten them even further to L, C, and (probably) H I guess, but I think we need to stop being afraid of letters.

M1-M12, since they are all likely to be matches in that location.

Maybe there will be another raid tier where M is the only one that makes sense. If that happens, we'll probably have to revisit the terminology here. But right now, M is unused, it probably won't be the only usable one for future raids unless we're unlucky.

We can't have A1-A12 because that's Alexander and at this point we're trying to maintain our little community formula of only 1 letter. :p

The argument for R makes sense but the reason we don't usually go for that is we usually try to base it as much off the raid name (or boss name) as possible. In this case, the content is rather original so we can't say what the finale really is (like Omega) in the same way.

I remember when people tried to call Deltascape D1-D4. I was like, no it'll be O1-O12. V1-V12 was a possibility for Omega but it wasn't impossible they could re-use Version for another raid tier, so O was safer.

It's been that way since Coil. People just say like "T8" or whatever even though the game doesn't call it 8.

And the game's not even consistent about calling things stuff. I'll get a "Gordias" in my wondrous tails and have to look up if that's the father, the son, or the holy ghost in the duty finder.

Its M...get over it cuz its Match 1 Match 2 Match 3. and so on.....

I call it AR(for Arcadion)
And I've used it else where.

AR1N(AR1S)

One thing that people have wrong about "M" is that it literally can reset.

They forget that In Competitive games, they don't necessarily count 1-12 between fights with different competitors.

They judge by your bracket and which fight it is.

Light-Heavy being the first Bracket we partake in.(Tier1)
Cruiserweight. (likely to be Tier2. as the story isn't likely to switch up any time soon.)
Heavyweight (Likely Tier3)

M is the Match, 1-4 happens to be the fights between them. (in a tier)

But seeing as we truly won't know.
(If SE really wanted to do it like a tournament. They'd probably go the bracket method.)

If they simply don't care beyond the First Half Being AAC LH/CW/HW. and the later half ignoring the Competive naming. it'll go to 12.

[In the end, people will chose what they like. and dislike getting told otherwise.]

(Just like I preferred TOP over TOPU. -like we needed to make the title of a Ultimate more weeby, or longer in a way that doesn't doesn't sense. UWU makes some sense at least.)

(Yet I still Believe Pictomancer and Viper should be PIC/VIP instead of PCT/VPR. and won't give it up, like the original SGE icon.)

TLDR: while naming conventions have similarities, some have lore reasons. some just cause it sounds better than the other options. or just cause most used it. and the community accepted it.

Nothing States that new naming conventions, lengths or shortening can/t exists.

Since AAC stands for for its full location name.
Followed by the Bracket(and match within the bracket)

AR_(N/S) Just makes sense.

More so if you wish to make it follow a more official Tournament Arc feel.

This is a non-issue.

Coils was T1-T4 for each tier, but the community just called it T1-T13.

Alex didn't have such a number classification so it was based on the boss name.

Omega had V1-V4 and it reset for each tier. But the community still did O1-O12.

Eden had no number classification so it was based on boss name as well.

Pandaemonium went from 1st to 12th Circle but the first letter of the raid names (A) was taken and we didn't think of C1-C12, so it ended up as P1-P12, since it was clear the entire raid concept was called Pandaemonium.

In Arcadion's case, the raid concept begins with A which is obviously taken. It's still a non-issue. They will most likely do M1-M4 for each tier but we'll still call it M1-M12.

Its M. R makes no sense.

m is for match? didnt know that. in german its called 'runde 1-4' which means lap... or round

Had M not been used at the end I would've said L = Lightweight M = Mediumweight and H = Heavyweight would've been better :P Although moving forward it wouldn't make sense for potential raid abbreviations later.

Ar would've probably been the next best, but M is shorter.

Everyone's using M and even if they next set of fights are M1 to M4 again, they'll be M5 to M8.

I kinda like to refer to it as AAC when talking about the raid itself but the M1-12 will probably be the way to go
Still it feels bit off that M has nothing to do with Archadion lol but Match 1-12 still makes sense in a way

That's how it is in German. I guess the next tier would also be R1 to R4. How is it in French and Japanese?

That's boxing. Rounds are against the same opponent. We fight different *matches*, all of which are just one round.

Depends on the type British wrestling and over Europe is 6 rounds.

I think M is weird long term, but since it's already there in the name, I think it makes things easier...but I wonder if there is a possibility that they call the next tier "AAC Cruiserweight M1-4" and "AAC Heavyweight M1-4" instead of going for 5-8 and 9-12.
That would be awkward.

How is that a discrepancy? We call Coils Turn 5, 6, 7, etc despite them resetting into new tiers. Just learn how to count to 12 lmao.

We've been doing it that way literally since 2.0. Final coil turn 4 is called turn 13. Second coil turn 2 is called turn 7.

It's M. It's the one people use and fighting it is like fighting against the inevitable sweet release of death. You may try and push back against it for a time. But in the end you will fail.

Yes, and that has always been silly to me. The community’s insistence that we try to force a single letter abbreviation onto every tier has already caused issues in the past, and it isn’t even a consistent naming convention because the raids don’t follow a set pattern themselves. Just use an easy and obvious acronym and the issue of what letter to use that doesn’t overlap with a previous tier disappears.
