Wuk Lamat is not the sole reason why the msq was alright. This whole ordeal just feels like it got stormblooded near the end. Y’all want to blame one character for bad msq? Weird and cringe my players. If you want to kill Wuk Lamat, why stop there? Why not get rid of all side characters as they sometimes steal the spot light from your precious WoL.

The eng voice fits the character. Was the acting amazing? No, there are some bad parts, but overall she’s a good character with good character growth. She goes from thinking she knows her people to knowing nothing at all and having to learn all over again. It’s amazing how she would prefer to serve others and love them for who they are rather than rule with an iron fist.

Leave Wuk Lamat alone. There are some valid criticisms in this forum but most of y’all just come off as entitled and bigoted.

Stormblood was more enjoyable though cause despite the issues some had with Lyse (I liked her personally, but I understand why others don't). Lyse didn't force herself into every waking moment of the MSQ. She didn't have much of a presence during the Doma part and her focus was when we were in Ala Mhigo which makes sense.

It's less about characters stealing the spot light, infact I myself prefer it when the WoL is just there to be the muscle and let the other characters develop, it's why they're a good blank slate. The problem is Wuk Lamat just sucks, she's dull and boring. She spent like what? 20 years of her life living in Tural but she hardly knows any of the culture or people? What sense does that make. That's like a 20 year old in the US not knowing what Thanksgiving is or something. It's silly. I enjoy MSQ when the focus is on other characters but those characters need to be good to begin with. Every other character in MSQ is more interesting than Wuk Lamat.

We should've seen a focus on Krile and Erenville. They're both much more interesting characters who we already know and have established backgrounds.

Honestly, we just need Chief Irons to come in and take care of things. No one is making it out of this one.

You have some points to what you're saying about her forcing herself into every part of the story, but that's how SE wrote it. The point of actually giving criticisms is to help SE make better stories in the future or make a character better. The story of Wuk Lamat was not horrendous to where she should've been deleted, but rather rushed in my opinion. Her growth was too quick and she didn't need to be everywhere but at the same time, she did since she was now a co-ruler of her country. I feel that Erenville is not a main character enough worth going into and good with what we got outside of the piss poor attitude of his mom near the end. Krile should've been fleshed out more, I agree. On the other hand, the scions have overstayed their welcome and are boring/predictable.

The point of about Lyse is that she came off as being the focus but was extremely poorly written compared to Wuk Lamat and DT overall. The only good party about Lyse is that she didn't overstay her welcome in the story and stepped aside. The whole Stormblood story mediocre and had barely anything worth remembering outside of Gotetsu saving Yotsuyu and taking care of her until in 4.3 she becomes Tsukuyomi and dies. The rest of subpar in my opinion.

You're point of someone being born into the USA and 20 years later not know what Thanksgiving was is mediocre analogy. It would be more like a 20-year-old US Citizen going for whatever part of the government and not knowing anything about the citizens they are representing (go figure that's most of our government in the USA anyways lol). The said 20-year-old would spend time learning about all the cultures in the USA.

I've said it before and I will probably say it again. I don't hate Wuk Lamat, I hate what they did with her. In 6.55 I thought she was great. By the time 7.0 wrapped up I wanted to go hangout with literally anyone else.

I really just want some time away from her so I can be excited to see her again.

Holy sh-t this is such brain dead take I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I'm sorry but "20 years old and not knowing anything about the citizens they're representing" is much, much worse when you consider that she's basically the president's daughter who has privilege and chance to know more about politic and cultures than commoners. Unless she spend all of her time playing and hunting I guess.
But hey, maybe it's intentional since Wuk is depicted as dumb as brick :p

At least Lyse has valid excuse as to why she initially can't understand why ala mhigan don't want to rebel. She was smuggled out of the country when she's just a kid and spent her whole life in Eorzea, that's why she can't relate (at first) to the beaten down ala mhigan.

Lyse and Wuk Lamat are good characters. They're always positive and want what's best for their people. Sometimes that's all you need for a main protagonist of a video game stoy. I rank both of them higher than Emet-Selch whose grumpy attitude got annoying after a while.

Wuk Lamat is one of if not the worse character created in fiction in the past decade with one of the worse English voice actors on par with the original Resident Evil 1.
In my opinion.

The FF14 community in general has become even more insufferable with this expansion. The amount of moaning and bellyaching over everything is just over the top at this point and it's just exhausting.

Yeah, the OP should really just go over to YT and check out a few videos. Actually, all the people who trash this game should go there, too, and see why all their frothing at the mouth here on these forums isn't going to matter compared to what the larger community cares about. (Seriously, check out how we consider getting 60-70 upvotes around here "huge," then go check out a YT vid where some comments talking about how much they enjoyed things about DT or found it meaningful are getting over 500 upvotes. The prevailing sentiment around here is not the norm for the playerbase at large.)

Tell that to the people who are having an absolute conniption over her. It’s one thing to not like a character—Wuk Lamat wore thin for me halfway through the first zone—but good lord, some people need to get a grip and “go touch grass” or whatever the hell phrase kids use these days.
