why they didn't make this ability availbe for viper...???

... i am talking about that snake scale in pvp, it doesn't need to be OP like pvp version, only need to reduce damage to 10% like SAM, or give some shield like NIN, every DPS has some kind of defense buff (either self buff or party buff) rather than normal addle/feint, everyone except old DRG (i don't try new DRG yet so i don't know)

i think these buff really usefull, it saved my ass many time with 1 hp from dying in extreme and savage raid

Not needed, if you die through unavoidable dmg its clearly mitigation/healer fault, and bloodbath is way stronger with viper, so just use it.

well i am not extractly blame anyone in that situation consider we are in progress party, but survival 1 radiwide to see the next mech is still useful

Bloodbath and Second Wind are sufficient. It's a "greedy" DPS.

Samurai is also a "Greedy" DPS. It not only gets a ton healing out of Bloodbath but it also now has Tengetsu which gives it a 500 potency heal (IE, an untraited Second Wind) every 15 seconds. IMO that's about on par with 5.4-6.2 Riddle of Earth, IE Monk's old 20% defense buff every 30 seconds with three charges that everyone thought was completely busted. It's kinda disgusting.

Maybe it doesn't make a ton of difference but a small personal defensive for Viper would be nice even if it isn't completely necessary.

can't call yourself greedy DPS when you can't even outdamage SAM, and SAM has their defense buff every 15s, while other DPS range from 30-120s

The "greedy" or "glass cannon" argument never made sense to me as that suggests that its damage contribution substantially surpasses the other melee at the cost of having no defensive. I doubt that's the case now and even if it was future balance patches will usually balance the damage contribution of all the melee DPS without taxing them for a personal defensive. And if anything the naming scheme of Snake Scales seems to be in theme with Viper.

So should they remove all defensives from other dps then?
it just feels good to have something to use on damage, and the entire game isn't raiding. viper is squishy as hell in deep dungeon, and this ability already exists so porting it to pve cant be that hard

Dragoons don't exactly have any defensive either, or are we seriously going to say that a timed use of Lifesurge on Heaven's Thurst / Drakesbane can be compared to Shadeshift, Riddle of Earth, Tengentsu and Arcane Crest?

You also can use Uncoiled Fury for Rattling Coil stacks for more effective ranged attacks, if ever forced out of melee range, so there is that benefit.

If VPR gets a self defense action, it should include a self Esuna. The snake themed job should be able to remove poisons from themselves.
