Unfortunately, collaborations will not always be available to everyone, too much space to cover, too many companies that just don't exist everywhere.
The good news is they will probably be rewards you are able to get later. ie eat pizza emote is now available to purchase for significantly way less than I paid on a grubhub order and the Butterfinger mount is now a Twitch reward.
I have to second OP's disappointment with this - there's literally only a grand total of about 3 of the 50 US states that even have a Gong cha store.
Arguments like "not all promos can be for everyone" only really works for small-to-medium companies; this is *Square Enix* - they're a massive enough company to not only know better, but be able to *do* better.
(and yes, I know they have plenty of Japan-only things which makes sense for a Japanese-based company, but this was released as a promotion for the player base at large, not as a location-specific thing)
3 of the 50 US States?
Did you even bother to go to Gong Cha's website to check?
Or perhaps you are not checking the correct website. (Yes, this brand really needs to hire a new Digital Marketing Director to revamp and consolidate its numerous sites into one single website.)
Gong Cha has locations in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Maryland, New Hampshire, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia
Go to https://gongchausofficial.com/our_locations/ for the address of each location.

This brand really needs to hire a new Digital Marketing Director to revamp and consolidate its numerous sites into one single website. It took me several searches find the website that lists ALL locations in USA.
Hope this is helpful!
Now do the same with EU :)
I heard it was in Canada too... :3
And most of these are centered around major cities and their suburbs. So, it's probably quite a road trip and hassle for a fair number of people, especially since they are not located in every state. This is such a dumb promotion. Should have just kept themselves paired with Amazon. Yeah, that was annoying, but it was accessible to just about everyone.
If it's not available locally, it could be a fun opportunity for you to have a fun weekend getaway. Or, if you want "exclusive" rewards like this and can't be bothered to travel, there's always eBay.
I'm from the UK, we don't have access to the majority of such promotions, for example we didn't get the Mountain Zu, and that's okay.
It's a single silly mount you are never gonna ride on - it's not the end of the world.
ya cool one square let me book a flight from USA alaska to another state to participate in the collab mount
I'm just happy they're finally supporting Oceania with an event. There's one down the road from me so I can finally, for once in this games bloody life, get in on a collaborative event.
Heads up to anyone in Australia - Gong Cha isn't giving us the plastic cups because of our national laws against plastic reusables. So if you're like me and wanted to get them to collect them then you're SOL.
I didn't even want the mount lol. Oh well live and learn.

I think the idea of this type of collaboration is ALL about extra revenue stream for Square Enix. Gong Cha had to paid a sizable sum of money to Square Enix in order to get this collab. I am sure both companies overlayed the geographical distribution of players in USA over Gong Cha's location and made an arbitrary decision -- something like "oh Gong Cha's location is reachable within X miles by 70% of players. it's good enough to make a deal!"
We players often think about "fairness", but Square Enix is a business. They only think about how to maximize their revenue streams from their gaming assets. Truth be told, many players will be very disappointed because they cannot participate due to physical distance, but I would venture to say few would quit FFXIV over this.
They're available in Vancouver BC, but they're not as common as say, Subway or Tim Hortons. Also, why " three teas in a single transaction "?
That said, it does feel like this was a "good idea, with bad execution" in which they should have partnered with Amazon.com/ca/etc to sell keychains that also unlock the mount.
the nearest gong cha store to me is over a 4 hours drive :')
Promotion made by European department that was meant to be done for Europeans in the first place, considering previous colabs were done for US/JP only . Don't expect them to choose brand that's popular in USA as well, when they couldn't do same for EU. This brand literally exist in only 4 out of 44 European countries, and 3 of em don't have more than 5 shops in them.
If you have friends that live close to one you could ask them to get you a code. I personally live 40minutes from one and will probably make the drive at some point before the promotion ends but I did ask a friend who is like 5minutes away.
One quick check on Ebay confirms the high likelyhood that Gong Cha employees are just auctioning the promo cards\items at a huge markup.
Sadly the codes just ended up on ebay. Hoping they put this on the store someday.
This... straight up isn't true re: the cups, I'm suspecting it was more a supply issue at the store you were at. Our national mandate is for straws.
If you ordered a large you get their cardboard cup (which also have designs) but the medium size came in the plastic ones. Only thing I've noted between my store here and the one my FC mate could get to was which designs were where; my store only had the fat chocobo cups for example while theirs had cactuar and moogle ones.
Source: I live ACT/NSW region AU and the plastic cups do exist.
I also suspect this. Seeing sellers with 15 cards listed on the 18th seems really fishy. We were looking for the mountain zu mount and came across those. (I refuse to buy things from scalpers, don't worry.) I'm fortunate enough to live ~20 min drive from 2, and neither had keychains when I went today. I went to 1 location early on the 18th and they were out of the purple ones and had maybe 4 green and 6 brown. I was originally thinking of getting an extra code to give away, I used to live far away from a major city and understand the pain of being unable to participate, but this is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
It's crazy to have to buy 3 drinks at once. They should have done a stamp card or app integration for those who don't want to keep extra drinks in their fridge. This may just be me, but as someone who likes bubble "tea" Gong cha's isn't that good. Way too sweet and the certain flavors (matcha and peach) are weak. Hubby says the honey lemon slush was good though.
I got screwed over by the pizza promo and now I got screwed over for this one... Honestly SE just stop with the food establishment promo because it's just not good.
Only person who won on this promo was Gong-Cha that sold the drink and informed you after the fact that they are out of codes and keychains.
I went to the Gong Cha in Tampa. The employee there claimed they were out of codes, that people came in and ordered 60 drinks so as to get a bunch of codes, they had only been issued a certain amount of codes from corporate and they were out. The shop was only 10 minutes out of our way, I'm glad I didn't drive farther. This promotion was a failure.
The nearest one is 5 hours away from me. I'll be honest, living in a small town makes it difficult to get promos like these. I was lucky I even got the Mountain Dew one!
