This is nothing new.
Square. We all know jumbled named Lalafell trains are bots.
Just admit you need every subscription you can, or ban them already.
There's already a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge thread about this, and even one of the reps posted in it.
Don't remember what exactly what was said, but it was something alone the lines of how long investigation takes for stuff like that and that they HAVE banned a lot of accounts like that before.
They're multiboxers, probably not bots.
If you keep watching, they'll soon form together into a Mega Lalafel. The largest Lalafel in all the land! (Same size as a regular dude.)
That's a rather small herd there.
Casual multiboxer.
I wonder if they will ever bother to ban all those people who botted all their crafts to 50 in a impossibly short amount of time(impossible if you didn't cheat and enjoyed thing such as eating , sleeping, going to work, etc). Right now it just seems like they are are ok with it and the lack of action taken against botters just encourages others to do it. It seems like even more people started doing it once hamlet came out.
im not sure whee they r getting these bots only ones ive found are crafting and fishing and you gotta pay for those. havent seen one for free
they cant be bots they are probably someone with multi accounts
so i can't face roll my name now?
Just wait for the Great Bannings.
We'll see an explosion of topics about how unfair it was or how people never saw it coming, just like Salvage dupes back in the day.
look at the names definitely RMT. there just throwaway characters for gil
people name there characters not like this "sdjfghsd dsjfhlsakdh"Quote:
they cant be bots they are probably someone with multi accounts
rmt's & bots?
Hardly, they are only leveling for one thing.... Legacy campaign & that special mount.
A plain old multiboxer, getting his or her characters to 30~, to get the mount...
it's not very hard to figure what he or she does with the accounts later.
Besides in 2.0 they can change teir name & looks...so the names dont matter to them.
lol Gramul...are you acusing me of being a bot?
well here's a "secret"...im multiboxing too sometimes, because i have 2 accounts.
I pay for both accounts, i play both accounts..does that make me a bot or a mb?
People need to see the diffrence in multiboxing & botting.
I could answer all your questions but im not going to.
Good for you dear.
I'm not saying multiboxing is against the rrrrrrrruuuules, but would you really spend that much on a game like this without any hope of financial return?
And you see this exact same situation on every server. A train of 6-8 randomly named Lalafel in low level gear that never respond to anyone. They've been here from the beginning. Before we had any idea we would be able to change our names later on.
They also spam a very certain leve that nets them a crapton of Karakul Fleece. Oh, and they level in the process. If a bunch of Lalafell standing in one spot with a single character running the same exact path with the same timing without deviation isn't RMT/bot activity, I'd love to live in whatever little world you are in.
Alot of people don't seem to understand that untill SE has proof they are breaking the rules they won't ban them, just because someones name is jumbled and they craft alot doesn't mean they are a bot (In 99.99% of cases they are).
The bannings will come in 2.0, don't worry.
Oh no you guys are all right. These guys are definitely not RMT and I would just love for the entire server to consist only of "sadjsa dsalkdjs" lalafells.
I call it my world of "Ignorance", they dont bother me or have
any profound effect on my ingame economy making.
For one, i havent had any problems making a few 100ks /day
ingame either by doing leves, craft & sell stuff, but even so.
Here's what they're doing incase anyone failing to understand. (not related to above Quoted poster/answer)
They level up multiple characters, when 2.0 hits, they sell those characters, special deals since they have
access to Legacy mounts, discount price, maybe even with X amount of gil they earned of the year.
Everything they gather, gain from the leves is a profit no matter what.
It's not hard to figure out that in mmo's some people are so lazy they rather buy a pre-made account
with 1 or multiple characters at a certain level. Its easier to access the content that way.
I can prolly think of 10 friends that would like that Goobbue mount or
Legacy discount when FFXIV 2.0 finally pops.
But so far i havent been able to get anyone of them to play or even try FFXIV.
But thats more or less whats going on.
RMT = Real Money Trading... find proof of that action being executed and then claim RMT.
If those "Multiboxers" havent offered you any actions related to RMT activites then
how can it be considered an Action against the rules?
(Meaning such as Offering gil for Real Money etc)
MB can be and often is related to RMT activities, but not always.
Im in no way defeding RMT or Botting activities, but people need to told the diffrences.
- Example.
When i party up with my other account character and go to Sphosae dungeon
im getting multiple keys by killing the mobs that drop them.
I just leave my other character standing, doing nothing at a chest while i kill the mobs
that drop a certain key. then i pass the keys to my "Mule" and let her open the chest.
This is also considered spamming, but does that make me a bot, rmt or a Multiboxer?
Is this illegal too? ( I my mind, no, im controlling both characters.)
Infact this is how you do it the legal way.
Now compare that to the "Multiboxers" you see in the OP screenshot, is there any diffrence?
You cannot answer that, because you do not have any proof of otherwise.
Final Edit:
I have 4 character active on each of my 2 accounts, thats 8 characters & 16 retainers....
I have 16 retainers full of crap... there are other players with hell of alot more characters and
retainers than that but imagine how much crap, and market crash i can do with all those 16 retainers.
And you guys are worried about a few "Multiboxers" standing at Cedarwood's spamming leves...
If anything you should be pissed off about it us with multiple characters, this is the reason it will take a month or two just to transfer all our character data to the new servers.
Like my wall of text?
nor did i....lol
When 2.0 comes out I am going to use both my legacy accounts to make 80 different asdgoiasdg askdjghksajgh characters just to spite all of you.
I actually saw some that were Hyur the other day can you believe it?
Edit:
- Hm, i think i totally missunderstood your post, atleast from readin "TaalAzura's" reply.
it seems it possible, atleast from what i've heard (rumors), some kind of program.
I dont know what its called, really didnt care much for it
either since im currently running 1 account at 30 fps.
Dont really want to find out by trying 2 accouts and
make my pc go bzzzt bzzt, Boom!
We got some evolved forms of these on Gungnir. One is a galka called Red Crysis w/ a small army of lala mages. He likes to PK people at SB camps with mob AoE.
i laugh hard when i see them ...let them be XD.
Square Enix's Plan of Action:
1. Let the bot's do their thing in 1.0.
2. Ban them before 2.0.
3. Shake Head in bemusement
Imo I don't even a single resource should be wasted on banning them. Every MMO that has ever existed or ever will exist will have RMT. Not a single thing can be done about it as long as people keep buying. In short... who cares. If someone wants to waste money exorbitantly ridiculous high price of gil, they've earned it imo.
Just think of it like charity, some idiot wastes money on buying gil = a starving Chinese child gets to eat a meal. At those prices probably stake and lobster.
Dunno how they'd go about doing this. There is a firm strategy of: Getting jobs to 50 via leves, being gimp but having leve money and then spamming leves for crafts post 35 and using the leve money to get there. It's a short amount of time and i've seen new players now with all crafts @45 in their first month. :x
