Mnk feels really bad
Whm needs potency buffs
Blm needs potency buffs
Mch needs potency buffs
Drk needs some mitigation love and some potency buffs
Ast and Picto needs slight nerfs.

SE:
Yes we need to buff Astro still feels clunky.
Monks are doing stuff we didn't envision let's nuke it even though they still are far off.
Nothing about jobs that actually need it.

SE why you so fucking bad when it comes to balancing at the start of a expansion.
It's 3 times in a row now you completely fucked it up.

I'm impressed they somehow managed to make WHM's personal DPS lower then AST when it's historically had the edge over it in that regard.

The change to warrior is peak. They designed warrior a certain way, found out that people were a second primal ruination into raid buffs, decided to remove this unintended interaction, but then buffed warrior anyway to make up for it. Effectively warrior is still buffed compared to the original design. Despite being the second highest in damage rankings and by far the highest in sustain. Someone on the job team really likes warrior and really hates dark knight.

I mean, pretty sure it just like a 30 potency increase, but yea, It just weird that they decided to adjust that one tank that doing great at everything.

It's honestly no surprise that Warrior is doing so well and gets potency adjustments to make sure it's still above DRK/PLD. Would it be so difficult to slightly buff DRK/PLD (And jobs like black mage) and see how that goes before savage comes out, Gunbreaker always without fail has to be top damage for some reason despite losing some weaving as well, I feel like they purposely make sure that GNB is always ahead.

It feels likely that we're going to get small buffs in the expansion that will barely do anything until halfway through, I understand about being careful with buffs, but wouldn't it make sense to make some small potency adjustments to jobs... and see how that goes before 2 weeks when savage comes out.

Oh well I guess I'll hope PLD/DRK get some nice buffs, I really hope it's not going to be me waiting for ages for tanks to be balanced out despite all of them being similar.

As for "mitigation" I think they just need to make Dark Mind work on physical and please make oblation feel slightly more impactful (I don't know... maybe some life steal effect or something crazy idea...) I do think DRK is generally acceptable Mit wise in raids.

SE: Rips out all job identity and homogenizes everything to make it easier to balance.

Also SE: Still can't balance a damned thing.

If this is their attempt at "balance", I'd rather have the fun we used to have, than the joke of balance we have today.

Weren't they also the strongest by a long shot in ARR and HW? Especially before cooldowns reset on wipes and block worked against magic damage.

Definitely not in ARR. We used to 1/2/5 with a Paladin back then.

DRK's mit is fine. DRK and PLD both need potency buffs though.

It always take them until x.2 patches to finally get a hang of the balance, not sure if its because they have a lot of other things to do for release, but usually they take notice of all those things but take time to change them

The buff to Warrior is honestly high comedy.

Man, that's... Honestly impressive, how they somehow managed to make the new classes both top AND bottom of the list.

Ngl balance for tanks and healers are fairly decent this time around the difference is minimal, folks just love making big deals from the tinest margins in parses... The Dps however are all sorts if fucked, we'll see what 7.05 drops but wouldnt get hopes up, likely see only 1/2 the Dps get the changes they need by then...

What little I've tried Viper, it did feel like a lot work to deal underwhelming damage.

Now personally, I don't mind if some classes are better than others in PvE, but it does create some issues with people going for the meta... As functionally, I do believe every piece of content should be clearable with the worst possible combination of Jobs within the intended party build... Which then makes the best possible combination just easily go through.

Low dps and reworked jobs are not popular. SE wanted to address the latter with reworks for DT but its clear this backfired, given that healer role has no PCT/VPR to skew the numbers clearly this iteration of AST sucks. And BLM being at the very bottom is not surprising either.

It’s so weird they have a system in place to bring content up to the current expansion level (unreal), they then won’t use it except for a few scattered extremes leaving ultimates to rot with 70 kits AND then they still won’t even attempt to balance the low level hits to avoid a situation like PCT 50th percentile being stronger than any other DPS 100th percentile

Interestingly for all peoples 3 expansion long whining about how SCH is a cluttered mess nobody could actually like (as in it’s dys synergy not core healer issues) it’s still almost neck and neck with SGE which is basically its “lobotomy rework” as a seperate class

On the contrary, smaller numbers are misleading so it is actually an opposite situation. Difference between GNB and PLD is 8%, difference between PCT and BLM is 6%.

Especially with skill acquisition being as lopsided as it is. PLD doesn't even have access to their gap closer in UCoB or UWU.

Rwally? Might still be a lil early for normal raid but seeing only 2-4%~ with tanks

SE: So you're telling me WAR needs more buffs.

On the bright side, I've switched mains and WAR has become my favorite tank this expansion with their new toys feeling really good compared to the other tank upgrades, so at least we're not getting nerfed. But man.. DRK feels like it's in dire need of a ground-up rework (again) and a course-correction on its design identity.

Numbers changed since, but I think I based this on EX1 averages (median).

For this, PLD is 12,653, GNB is 13,658 which is ~7.9% higher. BLM is 18,732, PCT is 19,943k which is ~6,4% higher.

I think PLD's been the lowest DPS tank since at least 6.3 when they reworked it... Heck, their old Requiescat combo with the ability to throw out some Holy Spirits before Confetior might have had more total potency than the current one does at 100.

SE:Pre 7.01. - we are post 7.01 While their dev team does do raids, we know their not the top tier, and Yoshi-P has even talked about how players find ways to do things they never even thought of. It is harder for a dev to think of things than a player. This can often be replicated in any work environment when someone new to a program can find better ways to do stuff than someone whos been using a program for years because they have more outside the box thinking. Aswell as the avg damage btwn healers that the majority of the player base plays at is within a 400 dps range. above that is when skill and job comp comes into play, more than potency. whm should be third or fourth on the list. Sch is currently listed at the weakest while having the second most entries in the top 200, Make sure to check the data and make sure it correlates to the current statistic chart, cause currently it does not. The current statistic chart, has sch marked as much weaker than what the data shows.

Blm needs potency buffs - very true it needs a lot, not sure how this one made it past devs.

Mch needs potency buffs - see blm

Drk needs some mitigation love and some potency buffs - Agreed with the potency. it's mitigation is fine at higher lvls, it needs its mitigation to be corrected at lowers lvls

Ast and Picto needs slight nerfs. - Picto yes, vpr and rpr even. Astros potency is so high because its a buffing class. With picto, repear, and viper doing cracked damage right now that's why it's MAX dmg is so high compared to other healers. Fix the cracked dmg jobs and this will drop. The avg AST dmg is inline with being fair to healers. Just makes it the top dps healer, if your party can make use of it, if your dps are dieing, you don't have a party consisting of only the cracked jobs, ect it falls off and becomes the weakest in terms of pure dmg and the same as others with a "normal" party comp. If u nerf it, then normal parties suffer. It is also the hardest healer to play with the most going on as such it should be in the top slot. WHM does considerably more dmg than sch when u remove the buffs. If they aren't nerfing the cracked jobs, then yes whm could use very small buff, but it does not "need it"

Monks are doing stuff we didn't envision let's nuke it even though they still are far off. - Balancing things are harder when the job isn't played properly.
Nothing about jobs that actually need it. - agreed there are too many jobs this expac that need or a buff, or there are too many jobs that need a nerf.
