Please Adjust Tilana [Dancer]

I’ve been playing 100 Dancer and Tilana is not fun to use. The 50 esprit bonus leads to frequent overcapping issues and bloats the Technical Finish window.

Please consider either:

• Replacing the effect of 50 esprit with granting Fourfold Fan Dance so that we can get another weave during burst.
• Reverting Tilana to its Endwalker state.
• Have it grant the ability to use Dance of the Dawn.
• Have it grant a free use of Saber Dance.

I would personally prefer the granting of Fourfold Fan Dance as it allows for more dynamic weaving of abilities during burst. More Saber Dances push out Fountainfall and Reverse Cascade from the Technical Step Window. So the granting of Fourfold Fan Dance would relieve some of the tightness of the new burst window. But any of these changes would be preferable to the current state of Tilana.

Reverting it to Endwalker state is by no means preferable to the current state. It dealt less damage and had an additional effect that made exactly 0 difference in actual gameplay if you played your class even remotely correctly. So even if you are at 100 esprit already, the new Tillana is better than the old one.

And please, no additional weaving during the burst phase. If I go in with 4 feathers, it's difficult enough as is to spend them all in time, at least as long as fan dance 3 can't be combined on the same button as fan dance 1 or 2, or maybe you have super low ping that allows you to double weave fan dance 1 into 3 or another 1, depending on the proc. If your ping isn't very low, the only reliable double weave without clipping is 3 into 1.

And what's the problem with additional Saber Dances pushing Fountainfall and/or Reverse Cascade out of the burst window? Saber Dance does more damage after all, even with factoring in the chance of fan dance procs (which are hard to get into the burst window as mentioned above).


I fully agree that overcapping esprit is an issue, especially in 8 man content. I don't understand why they removed that kind of effect on other classes to avoid overcapping, just to introduce the same issue to dancers, who don't even have a way to control their esprit gain and that can go from 0 to 50 within the span of a single GCD. Just do it as you did with other classes and grant us a free use of Saber Dance/Dance of the Dawn.

It is kinda silly when this is a problem that they solved for a bunch of other classes but I feel like that happens every expansion to one job or another. At the very least it makes it likely an easy change, but yeah, giving it a buff that lets us execute sabre dance instead of the potential overcap would be nice.

I like Finishing move and Last Dance, they feel like interesting additions to the kit.

Then there's the Tilana change and addition of DotD, which just make the job feel clunky and less satisfying. Not just the gauge overcap, but multiple new mandatory GCDs, reducing our opportunity to fish for feather (oGCD) procs. Tilana was never an exciting button to press anyway, I wish DotD was simply an upgrade/replacement of Tilana - at least it's nice to look at. Alternatively make DotD and Saber Dance oGCDs and, yes, make Tilana grant a free use rather than gauge.

Two ideas:

1) To reduce overcapping of esprit, while Technical Finish is active allow Esprit to stack to 200, same as Brotherhood allowing 10 chakra.

2) To give more breathing room after Dance of the Dawn, have DotD consume up to 100 esprit, with any esprit past 50 adding potency scaled equivalent to Saber Dance.

Allowing DotD to consume more than 100 esprit would be great, but I worry that a 200 esprit DotD might be considered absurd.

All it really needs is Tillana to give "Dance of the Dawn Ready" instead of 50 espirit, boom, job fixed and now perfect (but please buff potencies a bit :X)

Press Tilana with 10 energy

Get 70+ additional energy while GCD rolling because of espirit procs not counting +50 from tilana

Please understand, we are just multidollar company

Not Tilana related, but I'm having a hard time understanding why Standard Step/Finish doesn't change to Last Dance, and Flourish change to Finishing Move? Still leveling from 90-100 and dancer is not my main, but it just seems like that would make way more sense to me...

Finishing Move is bound to SS mostly because they are the same thing. In fact, the action is there just because it's cool, since they buff could just have given the effect to the basic SS without changing it visually. And Last Dance needs to be a separate key because there are times when you can (for a very brief moment) have both Standard Step/Finishing move andLast Dance up at the same time.

Flourish makes more sense to become FD4 instead. But I agree on the rest, Devilment/Starfall Dance and I'd love to separate Tillana from Technical Finisher.

im a bad player but to me DNC i play becuasew its rater straignforward and easy compared to any other job for me. i thnk the addition of last dance and saber seem good. im usually a anti more button person

but tbh i think its in a good space, we do have a shit ton of buttons to press after TS tho which is whatever since other jkobs have 2x more to do

combining moves is a great idea imo, we dont want button bloat

The new dancer abilities are just more weaves in the tech step trash can.

7.05 - Not even a quick fix, just a minor potency buff to Fan Dance 4....
