Skip Dawntrail like never happened and write a new story for 8.0

Start a new journey with same principles of realm reborn and act like Dawntrail didn't happened like what we did with Lyse and Mhegans.

Write about:

• Moral conflict that separate scions
• conflict war with 2 or 3 nations on how to rule the world
• cataclysm
• warrior of light is having a real trouble figure out what is the solution
• actual villian that is similar to zenos in stormblood.
• warrior of light come from another dimension that is much more powerful than us
• forget anything about dawntrail and act like it was filler

I mean as far as I can tell the DT story is done and its villains gone, they basically set up things that the patch story can now do/be anything really.

Sounds boring.

Remember when we had an expansion about a conflict between multiple nations? I remember how incredibly shafted Gyr Abania was. Remember what happened to Garlemald? Yeah... with the track record they have, do you seriously think they can pull it off.

"Cataclysm"

Yeah didn't we have that already? It was called the Final Days. It was an incredibly nothingburger.

"Another villain like Zenos"

No thanks. I'm all for villains with simple goals but it's a little bit too soon for another Zenos expy. Remember the last one? Little to no character at all.

I rather have Dawntrail to be a story of Bakool Ja Ja who learns to ballace between his courage, his cleverness with his own compassion for his tribe and dead siblings before. Sure, his first two parts are strong but he rarely cares beyond winning the Dawn(elec)trails causing both to atrophy.

Meanwhile Zoraal being the Courageous Promise, lives up to his name strongarm every issue he faces not for his sake but for his people's alongside with his already burdened expectations. The only few things he find confort in are his wife, their only son Gulool Junior and his siblings + Gulool Ja Ja, which makes him push even harder despite the toll its taking upon him over the years without a break.

Koana meanwhike takes his tech from Alexandria/Solutioj 9/Living Memory. While he is clever and knows what he is doing most of the time, some under his tutelage dont trust his tech nor the people he works with to get such tech.

Wuk Lamat can stay the same, though have her share the spotlight with Bakool Ja Ja and without being the center of attention(the reaosn being she's a busy gal doing important community work + PR stuff for the upcoming Dawn(elec)trials.

Alexandria has a president named Zidane who runs most of Alexandria, with Sphene relegated to Living Memory(which has downsized over the years as nothing more than a glorified hard drive till a more sustainable soulition can be made for the Endless).

The actual villans are the Cogs from Toontown(whom the Toons from Toontown had just made contact in Tural afger Alexandria three years later). Their leader, the first Cog from Gyro Gearloose was 'reformatted' by the kind Meteion before heading off again. Alas, this made the now 'Meteicog' even more determined to bring the Toon's gags to new heights thanks to its newfound mindset and Dynamis powers, of which it sets its sights on Living Memory and Tural as a whole to achieve its plans(which WoL + Bakool Ja Ja stop with alot of help from everyone in Tural working together)


Also Woody from Toy Story is here. Except he, Jessie and Pete are real humans instead of living toys.

Well... this is basically what happened. The whole Dawntrail story was just a set up to introduce the MacGuffin of the key and let us embrace our role as "Azem", we acted like Azem and now they have the narrative foundation to do something completely different.

While I agree that a big part of the MSQ looked like a .X set of patches, it's pretty obvious that was their idea from the beginning.

I really want this to happen, but I've kind of given up on any kind of proper political intrigue when we started being best friends with every single president around.

There's a two-faction world that I've seen forming, with the Eorzean alliance on one side, and Radz-at-han on the other side

(Radz is now allies with both the Garleans and Tuliyollal)

But there is no way we're ever going to fight against Vrtra unless something goes horribly wrong in Meracydia with Tiamat or something like that.

I'd love

the Alexandrians to remain neutral, since they have absolutely no reason to want an alliance with Tuliyollal after Wuk Lamat killed their beloved Queen. Also, their technology could be a huge destabilizing effect on conflicts/economies, which could be fun to see happen.

They can't "undo" Dawntrail, assuming they will take the feedback seriously.

Only thing they could do would be to trim out what they can from Dawntrail's MSQ quests to make it faster paced, and do a 180 in the tone of the writing with the patches, focus more on the problems caused by the aftermath of 7.0 that they completely overlooked. ARR went from typical Final Fantasy 1 + 3 chosen warrior of light awakens divine power to save the realm to "ok fairy tail is over, here's what Eorzea really is like". They can do that again.

Different writers and different localizers. Even if they try to emulate the leadup to 2.55, the execution will likely fall flat again.

Go write Fan Fiction. Or, better yet, specifically write fanfiction where the Warrior of Light travels back in time and does things the way the writer really really thought SE should.

Do not bother posting said fanfiction on these forums. Put it up on one of the fanfiction sites.
