I know we get to keep our characters but, to experience the 'new story' will we have to start a new character or can we simply go back?
I have a level 30 LNC right now, is there any benefit to getting to 50 before 2.0? Any 'End of the World' exclusive items we get to take to 2.0 with us?
Will we have to make new characters in 2.0?

Pretty sure we'll all be able to experience the new story without making new characters. That's what it sounds like when the devs talk about it. I'm sure they wouldn't exclude the loyal fans who stuck with them so long. ;3
I would definitely get at least one 50 before 2.0 to experience the one-time content in the game right now. Don't wanna miss out on that epic story. Unsure about items that may be unavailable later. -

I would think you'd have to gear up to some degree. Perhaps you could make some friends who might let you borrow gear if need be. But leves make decent money at level 30+. I think if you work on some leves you could get half-decent gear. :3
I'm unclear on the requirements for the new "final boss" battle. Unsure which quests need to be done first and such. Patch notes might say.

That's Company missions. Story missions are another affair and, at level 50, all are soloable. More than half don't really require any fighting at all.

Will the FFXIV servers go down when 2.0 Beta goes live or can we still play? I've tried searching the forums, google, and FAQs for the answer but I can't find it. -
