FIRST EMPEROR OF GARLEMALD

His Radiance, Solus zos Galvus

Born of distinguished lineage in the Garlemald Republic, Solus zos Galvus began his military career at a young age. After a string of impressive victories on the field of battle, however, he soon attained the rank of Legatus, and proceeded to integrate machina technology into the army's regular rank and file. With single-minded determination, Galvus transformed his fledgling nation into a formidable military power. His actions garnered the undivided support of the citizenry, and catapulted him into the position of Dictator, supreme commander of Garlemald. In the years that followed, Garlean forces conquered all the lands of the north and hammered them into a single entity. Galvus then instituted an imperial regime to govern their new territories, conferring upon himself the title of "Emperor." The eastern nations were the first to feel the newborn empire's mighty fist. It was during this campaign that the emperor witnessed firsthand the destruction wrought by the primals - an experience that led to an imperial mandate for their annihilation. Now an old man of more than eighty winters, Galvus yet rules as emperor, but court rumors speak of frail health and frequent illness.

sounds like a mix of Emporer Gehstal (VI) and emperor Solidor (XII)

omg just realized. Garleans hail from the north. Emperor has a pretty impressive beard.... S-Santa Claus?!?!?! could this be a plot to recover all of the escaped Elezen from the Magitek toy factory?

Interesting to note that the White Raven is the VIIth Legatus and that he also mimics the events of FFVII

With the crystal tower coming from FFIII I'm assuming we'll uncover a IIIrd Legatus

The Black Wolf is the XIVth Legatus. I wonder what he has in store for us

That bit of information (the legatuses' biographies and weaponry) has been known for probably a year by this point. It was the subject of a Lodestone update. I don't think it implies anything about classes or gameplay.

He looks like a cross between FuSoYa and Golbez to me. Loving itttt.

Interesting. Why is Nael's profile a little below the Emporer's? Is he still alive?

If you're referring to the part about the northlands, Garlemald wiped out/conquered the northlands before FFXIV began. The northlands being the stretches of land north of Ishgard. So no, not Coerthas.

I also notice that it states the Garlean advance was haulted after Ala Mhigo due to the appearance of a Primal, under The Black Wolf's bio. Was this known prior and I am simply out of the loop? D:

Northlands are in the NE. Look at the map where it says "Garlean Empire".
