It only seems fitting, there's an entire apartment complex section in the city that is only used once in the story. There's a lobby receptionist and everything, but not much interaction in the space otherwise.

It's outright crazy. We even went there so we can see that it's a massive apartment complex. So why don't we get to have our own room there? madge!
We are still lagging about four housing districts behind unfortunately
Agreed, that apartment complex seems so perfect for instanced housing in Solution Nine. I've been crossing my fingers for Sharlayan housing for a while now, but I really hope they do something with Solution Nine.
Maybe they open a building for outsiders to help deal with outside world trade and the creatures in the Thunderyards?
Signed, though it will probably not happen anytime soon. At least give us an inn room there.
Honestly I'd love to see every city with at least an apartment complex. Including Rhalgar's Reach.
You can at least still enter some of the apartments after the msq, but I agree, I really want them to do more with solution 9 and this is definitely something I'd like to see.
Hopefully we won't get another dead zone that people only stop by before returning to limsa....
I hope solution 9 will see more use in general. There are so many interesting locations (there's even two apartments that you can enter) but so little going on.
People asked for it in SHB too, I have very low expections for any additions to the housing content outside of a handful of new furnitures.
Not even giving us an Inn is just sad.
This. For the love of god, yes.
While I’d like to have full housing in most cities, just apartments in the secondary cities would be so nice! Solution 9 is a much different vibe. It’s so perfect for it and already set up. No reason to have to wait for other areas first either.
I agree, I also think this would be a great way to offer more housing and make cities feel more alive and relevant even after it's no longer a current expansion city. They should put in buildings that can serve as apartments in all the major cities without housing districts like Old Sharlayan, Radz-at-Han, and Tuliyollal. What I want wouldn't require a full housing district, just an apartment building (maybe with a sizeable lobby room to act as a way to access apartment "wards").
They should have apartments in most if not all major hubs in my opinion. Housing per se is another issue. I suspect the next housing will be in areas that are not part of this expac or the latest ones given it would exclude too many people from getting them who have progressed that far in story.
They also need to improve apartments while their at it to make them more desirable, larger perhaps multiple levels, ability to share, more item slots and so on.
There should be a lot of new openings for people there after the MSQ.
I'll add my hat to this. Although to really make it resemble it might need some housing items to make it fit. It might take longer that way but damn it I'd be interested. It'd be visually so different from most of the offerings out there, too.'
I'm not sure how you would manage a housing ward though without shattering immersion, though.
Wonder if they would be the same size or smaller...
Housing being a finite resource in this game in and of itself is a travesty. I've long argued in favor of instanced housing instead of the absolutely empty ward my cute as a button waterfront house is currently in. Where I have been for just over a year and can count on NO HANDS the number of times I've seen a single neighbor. There's just no reason for this, except it forces people to keep subscribed.
With how bad this expac is... I am seriously considering just letting it go. What's the point of keeping it in a game that I don't even really enjoy anymore?
I am heartbroken that it's come to this.
I'd rather have one of the cabins in Tuli, those are amazing.
Not much of a fan of the space age stuff, but to each their own.
Solution Nine is unique. An apartment in Solution Nine would only make sense to me if you had a window to see the outside environment.
Otherwise, the Apartment could be anywhere else. Once you are inside your Apartment you wouldn't notice any difference from other Apartments in the Game.
But witout a Market Board, Vendors and a Summoning bell it soon will be as empty as the Crystarium. The last time I was there, I was the only person.
To me Solution Nine was dead on arrival as soon as I noticed that we couldn't fly in that Zone.
What and break the formula? They'd be in Tuli in like 15 years.
I want to live in solution 9, I love the music, the atmosphere, the colours just....AH I want to. So please add apartments!!
Imagine a world where SE decides to give us apartments in Solution 9, but offer choice of size that's equivalent to the interior of houses.
Been hyped for this since first reveal of the city
I'd love an apartment there, and they'd even have the perfect excuse not to make a whole housing district - it's a futuristic city, people will have only apartments. (And once that's been accepted as a thing that exists in the game, it'll be easier to get other city housing with apartment-only, too, if they're so reluctant to release new zones or just make it instanced altogether.)
I also wish it was a more significant and prominent location with more QOL features to make one want to go. I really like it. It's not the cyberpunk city it looked like in the promotion materials, and I didn't expect full cyberpunk to begin with, this game is simply not the type for this kind of gritty "low life" realism. But I'd expected a cleaner shinier approximation, music perhaps something like we got in the surrounding dungeons. And I was surprised when I got there, and it was this serene, and the music also very different from what I'd thought. And then it struck me: This is less cyberpunk and more vaporwave, especially with the musical direction, and for that it's perfect. And it's thematically fitting, too.
Not the gritty future that's too-close-for-comfort to our presence, like in cyberpunk, but vaporwave's intentionally scrubbed-clean commercialised past vision of a future that never came to be, the nostalgia for past optimism for the future before the promises turned out to be lies. And for what the zone represents, that's an actually inspired choice. I may be critical of a lot of the writing in this expansion, but the art and especially music direction again absolutely nails it.
If enough players ask for it, they will implement it in some form. I have no idea if they can implement apartments without adding a new housing district though. Probably not because of code issues xD.
I'd love to see a new housing district, a new house skin and more housing items in Solution 9 style.
Solution 9 seems to be very popular among players, so asking for this kind of stuff should help, even if it takes time.
As abyssmal as the Story was, most of the Zones were beautiful. Apartments in Solution 9 would be amazing.
I would prefer to have it first in the Crystarium pls. I also think it's better than Solution 9, which has only 2 colors and you'll be tired soon.
I'd love solution 9 to get apartments or turn into a real hub. It's amazing and I want to spend a lot of time there lol
Only if we get tomestone vendors in Tuliyollal. I'd rather not spend 3 years in neon purple.
Very much want it, but yeah, I'd want it to be like the apartments we've seen there which I think could mean it'd be more like Island Sanctuary.
Like... for it to actually be one of those apartments I think we might not be able to use all the wall, lighting, and floor fixture options that houses have, but it'd be nice to at least set simpler things like lighting colour for those light strips like we can pick between options for landmarks/etc on the island. Which feels like it could be a good basis for also creating that style of apartment in other locations. Like... duplicate the inn rooms, remove their furniture and you have a basis for an apartment, but it'd then be nice if say... the Crystarium one let you pick whether you're looking out over Lakeland (like the pendants room currently does) or a view that includes the crystal tower.
I really want S9 housing.
YES! Housing in Solution 9, small apartments will do but Large warehouses would be even better. Ans Solution 9 furniture as well, please and thank you.
And we'll forget the lack of a marketboard in S9 and the pricy teleports to Limsa Lominsa we're paying because the Devs conveniently placed it in Tuliyollal to keep the initial city alive, while most of us want to live in the electrope fantasy with a marketboard just 3 seconds away from the aetheryte.
Come on Square, do us a solid and take our money!
Please do !
I don't have a lot of Playtime to farm gils to buy a lottery ticket for housing so a smaller affordable d'appartement the size of the inn with some fourniture spaces would be awesome !
Plus solution 9 is the most beautiful and unique City in the whole game and I love it
I just wish Apartments in the different districts meant anything.
Like give me a balcony where I can actually see the beach in Limsa or snow in Ishgard.
Otherwise I agree with OP.
I want a Sol9 flat too, but considering we got Ishgard housing 3 expansions too late, I wouldn't hold my breath.
Mao will pass. Mao thinks that place too unnaturals. Mao was raised in Dragon lair by Dragon Momma whats adopted Mao. If is no rocks or trees, Mao nots feel comfortables. Mao will stick to Mao house in Goblets.
Maybe we'll get like another Restoration event in the future and get another housing district out of it, I'm hoping this is on Square's radar at least a little bit. I quite liked Ishgard restoration, even though I'm not a crafter/gatherer player I ended up diving into that kind of content for a while just because it was cool to interact with the game world and build a new district like that.
