Patch download too slow

3.9% and not moving while i can watch movies in Netflix. Its not my connection problem. Is there an option to download the official patch?

Idk, I've been having problem with this patch as well. I've tried the regular client, I've tried utorrent, and I have tried a direct DL provided by a friend. ALL THREE have failed (client est. days, utorrent Downloads, but the patch doesn't work, and direct dl only gives me a partial file.)

just a terrible patcher as always. Dalamud will hit before half of us get through downloading this patch it seems.

Yep, this is the slowest patch download I have experienced. Not sure why it's being this slow. O.o

(For reference: I normally get several hundred kilobytes a second using XIV's patcher, I'm barely getting over 10 kb/s and frequently dropping to 0.)

having the same problem... up 120kb/s and then down to zero, up to 2 bytes down to zero and it'll stay there for 5 mins back up to 10kb/s... uploading at 120kb/sec consistently... I really lothe this patcher...

Why am I always uploading hundreds of KBs, but downloading mostly 0 with the occasional single/double digits?

I'm having the same issue. My internet isn't anything grand, or worth writing home about, but when I returned to the game ~1 month ago, the patcher was fine. Downloading consistently at what my (awful) internet is capable of downloading. But today, it's not getting close to even those abysmal speeds. I've stopped and restarted it several times, and I'm stuck at around 30%. It'll sit there uploading, but it's being really finicky about downloading. I remember having these issues shortly after launch, but when it worked so well when I returned, I had hoped they had been fixed. I guess that is not the case.

i had the same problem today too. just todays patch. every other one would download in minutes, this one, stalled at 88%, and took an hour and a half to get from 88-100%, with the D/L dropping to 0, starting again, and dropping to 0 again the whole time.

Been stuck at 4.6 for a while, my internet isn't fantastic by any means of the imagination, though I generally never have a problem with this patcher thingy. Right now I seem to be upping more then downloading. D: Sadness, I wanted to get some levels in before I go sleep.

Hey Square Enix, fire the responsible for the official patch launcher and hire this person ASAP. Thank you got it working in seconds.

The patcher keeps crashing on me for some reason. This is the worst it has ever been for me, absolutely pathetic. I downloaded 20GB WoW beta in less time than this 241mb patch.

You'll need winrar or 7zip or equivilent application. They're like a zip file, the file is segmented in 5 files.

Grab winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm) and install it. Open the archive with winrar and simply drag it out to the folder they mentioned.

No one's suggested just using a regular Torrent client? I loaded up uTorrent, unloaded/loaded the dishwasher, came back and it was done.

True that, uTorrent has been my default downloading client and not the FFXIV one, you know why? DHT and Peerechange, those boost up the DL like crazy :-P
