There's a Mayan calendar reflecting another timeline after their cycle of that timeline...their calendars are just cycles and periods. When the end of an era is determined they make a new calendar cycle.

The one person in the run that gets it in their loot gets to live.

No worries... Eorzea will not end with 1.23... I heard somewhere of an ending where you actually have to parley with Dalamud in order to prevent it from falling. ;)

If you don't 2x meld a rampager... your character gets deleted.
