It looks like it will be alot of fun to play, and the new spells look pretty and sound powerful.
Who else is stoked for the Astro rework like I am?

I don't play Astro, but I hope you really enjoy it :)
I just want 4.0 AST back :(
new ast is an improvement for sure
Mmh i m kinda skeptic about ast rework: why they had to divide draw into 2 decks ?
Why did they couldnt guarantee with a single draw three different card (one of shield, one of healing and one of damage) extracted through rng instead of this ?
That would have been the key to assure RNG from people who loves ast from 3.0 and at the same time allow card buff control on people who cried for it.
I bet that everyone will end up to only draw from the deck who will pick the lord only to benefit from the 400 dps free attack.
This rework proves again that square does not have any real healer testers on its team. Theese are the poor design choices that lead people on healer strike :/
I’m sure everyone will be so thankful they can finally get…a Regen buff.
Well it's nice to see they responded to everyone's requests to bring back unique card effects. So now each card does different things like before. Except of course they couldn't make them the same because we no longer have TP and we no longer are allowed to influence eachother's MP. I will be interested to try it out.
I can't wait for the redesign next expansion
I have been progging UWU with my Astro on my main, and I got 90% into the fight before my static died due to scheduling reasons. I would love to reprog the fight with new AST's design at some point in Dawntrail. I am looking forward to it.
yeah new exciting cards such as healing effects you already have and mitigation and barrier cards that you already have.
So exciting! I am on the edge of my seat!
Been a long time since I last played, and AST was one of my favourites. Looking forward to testing it out again :)
It is definitely improved but much like other healers needs more damage rotational stuff i think
I just don’t see what diet aetherflow adds to AST
Like new bole and old bole are nothing alike. Old bole you drew randomly and had to figure out if you could use it, if you could royal road it or if you wanted to use it as royal road fodder. New bole is just a generic single target mitigation that AST already gets 3 of per minute. Ewer is just single target CU/CO and spire is just a third charge of CI
About the only useful new card is arrow and that’s because it’s somewhat good as a spreadlo amplifier as until now AST had no way to increase SCH’s healing power unlike WHM
I kind of pessimistic about the new card system in DT.
AST is already going to gain additional stacks of healing resources. Two cards for healing per deck seems to be an overkill. I fear those two cards will serve no purpose due to low healing requirements this game already has been.
Not to mention dividing Play button into three separate buttons does not address the issue they sought to resolve. SE could just give us another stack of Exaltation and it will serve the same function as two cards combined without needing two separate buttons and two oGCD windows.
I'm looking forward to it, but I have to actually play it to know if I like it. The card effects are pretty crazy for single target and you get an Indom every other draw, along with 3 Essential Dignity and Sun Sign their healing kit got improved a lot when it was already very good.
Only things I'm disappointed with are Lightspeed still being 90 secs (which could have changed since the media tour build) and that they didn't come up with something better than Play I/Play II/Play III as names for the skills.
Also hoping that if it does have MP issues they will be addressed by the time Savage comes out.
Yeah I was hoping for the cd of Lightspeed to be changed aswell honestly, can't win them all I suppose
