FFXI Alliance Raid Hope

If the first encounter of the first tier of this alliance raid does not have the Play Online music blasting your eardrums out then is it really a FFXI themed raid?

I just hope they go the 'return to ivalice' route and work the FFXI stuff into their own version of things within FFXIV's lore. And not the Nier route where they lazily slap things on by having the baddies and support npcs come in from another world via portal and leave the same way.

If they do that much I'll be content. The Nier raids were such wasted potential story wise.

I'd love for it to be related to FFXI's Dynamis. That is, "Dark" versions of the main towns overrun with mobs...BUT, the big thing there was you could choose how you wanted to move around and what mobs to attack (or not). Raids by default are going to be linear, so I don't really expect it. (This concept of Dynamis has nothing to do with FFXIV's)

Maybe a solo duty with one would be interesting.

Oddly enough, FFXIV and FFXI lore could actually overlap quite well regarding the Shadowlord.

TL;DR version if anyone cares:

Pre-story, a group of adventurers were adventuring when a member of the party betrayed one of their own. The betrayed hero was a Galka, and he became overwhelmed with grief, rage and sadness...which caused his body to change into a demonic form (Crystals were involved).

He sympathizes and leads beastkin against the allied races in that game's first MSQ series.

It's not unlike Dynamis (the FFXIV emotion power version this time), or even Primal summoning.

Now I'm imagining a floating .jpeg image of playonline as a boss blaring the music that plays when you launch it for the first time making your ears bleed.

First raid boss is the Play Online launcher and you have to create an account and setup a payment on it from back before they swapped it over to mogstation.

I know it's wishfull thinking from my part...
But i hope they go full on Dun Scaith with it to ensure a colossal number of dead players when the raid is out ^^
(i love this raid, and seeing people dying in it, it is always so magnificent)

It says on the special site "Adventure beckons to an altogether different world─Vana'diel." So it sounds like neither of those, we're going to be the 2B showing up somewhere else through a portal.

I just hope that people don't nonstop complain about it on the forum...

... but since people are already here pre-complaining about it, my hopes have already been dashed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd like to have the Playonline theme an orchestration roll.

I got a I think three XI ones from the Eureka "raid". There's a couple battle themes, one of them I think is in Promanthia areas, and Ru'Hmet. There's probably more I'm not aware of.

I really hope with get an orchestrial version of Roar of the Battle Drums (the campaign music). Soken should not touch it, try to add his own thing to it or update it. They just need a full on pure orchestrial version and that is all.

If it's gonna be echoes of Vanadiel-- I'm betting that all 3 raids will have some form of part to each expansion (other than RoV - aka Rhapsodies of Vanadiel). But this would have to exclude Wings of the Goddess (and the abyssea mini expacs) as well as Seekers of Adoulin. Since it's 3 raids, it'd be up to ToAU (The Treasures of Aht Urgan).

What (I myself) would be hoping for-- would be the entire Dynamis section:

I'm also hoping whatever music is brought from ff11 remains unchanged I don't want remixes/changes to any of the ff11 music.

In reality I am hoping we get a raid tier of sea and a raid tier of sky for the alliance raid. Dynamis would be cool as the final raid tier I think, but it would get a little monotonous if that were the entire raid series.

With how Ivalice is a homage to Tactics/12, wondering if XI's raids will be loosely connected into XIV's present state of affairs, or be like a jump back in history. There's so many plot threads they could have us retread in glorious graphical upgrade. It looks like they might start with the Shadow Lord saga, so I'm guessing we'll get to relive the Crystal War. Not sure if they plan on exploring more plot threads or the Shadow Lord is it's own entity in XIV that's being resurrected and we get to fight him in the third and final patch? I'm hoping we fight him in the first raid and leave the other two for speculation of arcs like Wings of the Goddess, Aht Urgahn, and Promanthia.

My wishlist is mostly for raid drops. I don't want to get my hopes up on story and will probably just play FFXI during DT maintenance to get hyped.
