Good Riddance Endwalker, your best moments were the hype before release.
Well, I enjoyed the whole of it story mode and otherwise I did enjoy the stories for Garlemald & the story line throughout Ultima Thule.
Goodbye Endwalker. You gave me lots of fun moments with my husbando G’raha Tia. Please give me more of those gentle moments in Dawntrail.
I was thinking today of starting a forum about what you are excited for in dawntrail because of all the negativity. So a goodbye works too. Been here 8 years and with the community growing significantly since then, each expansion prerelease has caused apprehensions but it's pretty bad this time around.
Endwalker had it's ups and downs but it was worth the journey. I'm excited to set sail on a new chapter.
Goodbye Endwalker.
Say what you will about the msq element of Endwalker (I enjoyed it myself but I digress), but I'll always maintain the opinion that the music was absolutely superb!
Loved the main story, the fantastic music and the lovely friends I made. Had a great time with Endwalker, Farewell! Lets go! Dawntrail!
should of left the scions dead, we could of dynamus wished for a new mount instead.
Thank you Endwalker, had some good times, and not incredible times, but it was more FFXIV, which is why I keep subbing. Love the world and characters and looking forward to more in Dawntrail

My thoughts about Endwalker.
The good:
I liked the 6.0 Story. It was a fine finale of the saga with some hickups but agood end for me.
The music was great (not you Labyrinthos) , BLM design was peak here and I liked the new characters we got.
The first savage tier was good (had to stop after that because of health issues though)
On the other side:
The filler story was such a blatant copy paste of ff4 in a new paint and the dialogues at such a simple level it made me lose all interest in the void.
Relics were a new low for me who liked the old style of getting them.
Island Sanctuary was a massive dissapointment and Eureka Orthos had nothing new, more allagan stuff again and the worst prizes for me to get.
There was just nothing to do for me personally because almost everything was aimed at solo players.
Even a huge break on my part was not enough to rekindle the fire of the other expansions for me.
All in all.
Thank you EW for your base story. Other then that you almost made me drop this game entirely and I absolutely won't miss you.
For me the worst expansion of all.
I wanted to like you but its clear to me that this expansion was not made for those of us who liked the multiplayeraspect of the game.
Goodbye. I didn't enjoy your post-MSQ storyline, although I do appreciate it when you sprinkle in some older FF callbacks.
Hopefully DT will be good, I'll be going in fairly blind and with low expectations now that we've saved the universe.
Endwalkers patches was the most bored I been post expansion launch since I started playing in 2013. So far it seems dawntrail is going to be the most packed content wise and bringing back content I liked doing in stormblood and shadowbringers and bringing the ff11 raid I'm interested in doing.
Thank goodness it's over. The post-Endwalker MSQ's had some of the worst writing I've ever seen in my life, it was a FF4 rehash with a gender swapped Cecil.
I don't feel people are very hyped for dawntrail after the suckage of ew. It feels to me dawntrail is the last leg for 14 and I'm not sure the devs understand that.
Goodbye endwalker,
Music 11/10
Blackmage job design 12/10
Deep dungeon Eureka orthos 10/10
Story 6.0 11/10
Raid series 11/10
The zones 10/10
============================
The meh for me:
Wanted to try ultimates did uwu till near completion but seeing dsr and top, I lost interest in doing ultimates. But others like it's difficulty so not my piece of cake.
=============================
The bad.
Post patch storyline
Criterion
No open world content
Relics
Datacenter empty due to everyone going to mana
Goodbye Endwalker.
I knew the majority your story before it happened. Either I have mysterious psychic abilities, or you were very predictable. But not in an unenjoyable way. Which I guess was the point.
Music was ofc 10/10 pretty much always is someone give Soken and the music team like 100 medals someone please.
Gameplay? Uhh…thanks for the story, Endwalker.
i WANT MY DADDY senpai zenos to come back and bring back emo meteion as a friend
I don't think she was necessarily the root of the problem. Someone involved in the process wanted to wrap up too many things in one X.0 MSQ, which could have been Yoshida, Ishikawa, or Oda, and the result would have been a mess regardless of who was writing it. She also could've just been thrown out of her depth for marketing purposes given how popular Emet was, because she did fine writing smaller storylines or single characters.
Good riddance, the 6.0 story was incredible but everything after was so mediocre
here's to something new and interesting i hope
Goodbye Endwalker. Thank you for the fun raid tiers, memorable extremes, the memorable MSQ with extra RPG features and the side stories like the tribal and tataru quests, great MSQ dungeons and armors with interesting effects like fire and crystals. For all the problems with the battle system, there were all these good things.
Goodbye Endwalker!
Despite the downs (post-MSQ patches + Island), I had a lot of fun. I enjoyed 6.0 story, met some great friends, raided a ton, spent too much time farming glams because I swear everything was made for me specifically. And the extended patches actually felt fantastic and I was finally able to catch up on some old stuff in the game.
Thanks Endwalker for uuuh..
PvP reward tracks and uuh.. playing Sage is nice I guess.
Not gonna go on another hate rant, but man, this one was rough. At least the basic stuff that every expansion gets are solid enough to keep me interested.
Goodbye Endwalker, thank you for finally ending.
My worst experience so far, I've been on break since 6.3, and I'm still not entirely sure If I want to continue playing. Since I'm not into raiding, Endwalker really let me down with its lack of mid / casual content.
Thank you for making this, and apologies on behalf of the negative echo chamber that can't stand people enjoying the game.
I had a blast with EW. Loved the story, loved the music, leveled to max the most classes I ever have, got into classes I had shelved completely before (mainly NIN and AST). Fun times with hunt trains, actually got into crafting. First xpac I was actually already max level in at least one class at the start instead of playing catch-up, and still have some things I won't get to before the xpac is over in a short moment. Looking forward to the next chapter with DT!
Be wary of echo chambers (i.e. most of this forum). They can end up giving someone a very false impression of what's really going on. Heck, the hunt trains running this morning were as packed as ever with a lot of "hype" running through the chat, same with the FC. Take a spin around places like YT and for every person here who comments or "likes" a comment naysaying the game, you'll find dozens of people doing the exact opposite. The playerbase data says the same - even once the "WoW exodus" ran its course, EW still had the highest player population at every single point along the way compared with ShB (just as ShB did compared to SB, and SB compared to HW, etc.). The game is actually still on an upward trajectory and will be going for a long time to come.Quote:

I think Destiny 2's recent xpac is a good lesson. Check out those forums - the toxicity there leading up to their recently released xpac made this place look like a paradise in comparison. Then the xpac launched...and it's been enormously popular, widely praised...all while the same group continues their negativity on the forum. I expect the same will happen here - a massively popular release of DT, with the forum community that's buried its head in its own echo chamber wondering how it could be.
EW had it's ups and downs for me, story, gameplay ect.
6.0 Was a pretty decent story wise likely my 2nd favourite in all the expansions... I will not talk about anything beyond that to remain positive.
At this point im waiting to see how DT will holds up, I've already got what I've wanted out of EW.
Goodbye Endwalker, you let me play a lot of other games. I will never forget how you respected my time by letting me play other games. I had a blast with Elden Ring and Tears of the Kingdom! We like FFXIV because it lets us play other games, despite us also playing it for 10 hours a day for the past 12 years with no breaks, and even if we do take breaks that's okay but let me be clear, it does NOT force you to play other games there's plenty of content to do, where are your clears and your logs and your Big Fish/Necromancer? And at least FFXIV isn't like WOW, don't you remember Shadowlands? WoD?? Torghast and garrisons?? And don't you remember the allegations? Yikes, Blizzard is just so bad and I hate WoW so much.
Anyway, I think you all need to remember that FFXIV isn't just a game, but a movement. Remember that we all stand on the right side of history against evil naysayers who oppose us and who we are as individuals. An attack against FFXIV is an attack on us all. We will NOT allow them to insult us. So THANK YOU, YOSHI-P! THANK YOU FOR GIVING US THIS MOVEMENT! To celebrate, I'm going to have Yoshi-P's face tattooed on my chest just so that whenever I'm doing "nightclub activities" in FFXIV I'll look down and see my savior looking up at me proudly. THANK YOU SIR!!

Goodbye to the solid 6.0 release, the fun raids-
and the weak, pathetic, most un-enjoyable relic series ever conceived. May Hildibrand be consigned to oblivion where it belongs.
idc who what when or how there better be a hot demonic evil boy again ... or a vampire prince like ew raid tier 5 _-_ are at the very least bring back zero and make a void expansion
Finally the power of friendship tripe that was known as EW is done! woo. Now if we could go back to having a half way decent MSQ like in Shb or even Stb that would be swell.
I'll never forgive them for putting Zodiark at lv 83. EW was -redacted- through and through. I'll spit on its grave.
Well, I've already said that I think the music was, frankly, perfect. However, atop that - positives that spring to mind:
- The interactions with Jullus at Camp Brokenglass - a truly touching moment
- The The Font of Maya - Matsya and the baby; I was SO on edge throughout that sequence.
- The Moon - the awe of being there, and it started off really nicely (though I'd have to concede that I didn't enjoy Bestway Burrows much and could barely believe Zodiark ended up being a midgame boss)
- The whole Ragnarok launch sequence
- Despite feeling somewhat indifferent about Meition I did enjoy the whole 'Endsinger' thing, and I'll admit I grinned like an idiot when Zenos appeared
- The fight against Zenos, as well as our final interactions with him either side of the fight. I know this one polarises opinion, but I loved every minute of it - and 'Footfalls' playing during the fight was the icing on the cake for me!
- The closing sequence. Not going to lie - I had tears in my eyes during the scene with our character walking with the Scions, toward the 'key' Ascians, and then seeing my character acknowledged as "The Warrior of Light" (love that touch, acknowledging every players part in the overall success of the game as a whole).
On the more negative side:
Well, I'm actually not in the 'Endwalker sucks' camp here - I enjoyed it and I'm not willing to pretend otherwise. And I wasn't exposed to the pre-launch marketing/hype since I didn't start playing the game until shortly after EW launched and avoided anything related to it for the sake of not spoiling the MSQ for myself. Playing the MSQ at my own pace, I didn't actually reach Endwalker until the following March.
And I watched the Footfalls Cinematic right before I started Endwalker. To this day I still think that cinematic was incredible - I recall watching it that first time. The music and the lyrics, the promise of a 'end of the world' scenario story. The emphasis on the moon and the question of it's role in the story, not to mention the question of why the Warrior of Light was on the moon - alone no less! I was completely blown away by it and couldn't wait to see how it would all translate into the story.
But even as someone who very much enjoyed Endwalker.... I don't think the story quite lived up to what the cinematic portrayed. 'The Final Days' should've been a world-changing, almost apocalyptic, event - but it doesn't feel as if it had as big an impact, or long-term consequence, on the world as Dalamud/Bahamut did overall.
Anyway - goodbye Endwalker. Count me as one who thinks the positives outweigh the negatives, and who'll look back fondly on the journey you took me on.
Not saying you are wrong (there is a bit much doom and gloom here) but it really seems, I don't know, quiter then for the expansions before that (weird to put into words).
I look kinda forward to DT with careful expectations just because Yoshida really seemed genuine with his promises of more multiplayer stuff evenso I maybe sound annoyed by this game on some points.
It's kinda strange how quit DT hype seems though. Maybe because there is no real build up to it's story or many players really are more down to earth with their expactations but I wouldn't call it an echo chamber to be honest.
It would be an interesting discussion on itself I guess.
Also to be a bit off topic. Destiny 2 was allready dead when the announced it for some of us who liked Destiny 1. :P
On topic again:
I missed one other positive point about EW.
The PVP update was great and makes me kinda hopeful for job identity in 8.0.
Good riddance to low effort expansion; the only good thing out of it was mounts.
What they did with relics was not just insulting, it was an absolute affront to game design. Online games had better systems in year 2004 than whatever nonsense that relic series was.
Goodbye Endwalker! I loved your story, I loved your updates. Regardless of general dissent and dissatisfaction others may have experienced I had a lovely time in general. I go forth into Dawntrail trusting that the team will give us a new adventure full of new possibilities that will carry us forwards into FFXIV's next grand tale.
goodbye little Alpha and grandpa Thordan, you were fabulous ❤️
