New races/sub races

Hi,
I know theyve said before they dont have plans to add anymore races but i feel like we are missing a few varieties in characters. I feel like we need a male shorter than hyur/miqos but taller than lalafells (maybe female au ra height) and maybe a bigger model like dulia-chai aswell. I feel like either genomes as a new race would fit great into the game for shorter males or make new sub races for existing races (alphinaud sized elzen, dulia-chai sized miqos , the feol for viera) would give alot more variety in character selection and creation and would make them alot of money with fantasias

Au Ra has no apostrophe.

Give us new variants as FFXI races ; with the DT raid 24 they are going to have to make at least one galka ; they can't just put a roe and cal it a day...
then for the "new race", just put a twist on the : au ra with inverted dimorphism and lala sized viera/hrothgar (yes, that's just loporit and felyne XD )

They could add the Lilty from Crystal Chronicles. They have the same proportions as Lalafell, just copypaste all the gear over.

There was another thread about this going around after Yoshi P basically said they were done with new races, unless there was overwhelming demand for them…

And as I said there, I definitely agree… I’d prefer to see more clans added to the existing races before we get totally new ones. I’d like to see a shorter, more delicate Elezen. I’d like to see more burly, mature looking dwarves as a Lalafell sub-race. Those are my two big wants. Not sure what other clans people want to see… maybe additional Hrothgar clans could have different fur patterns. I know some Viera players would like to have more than the 2 ear shapes they currently have.

I’d also like to see half races, which imo could be easily done by adding ear/tail options across the board… want a half-Elezen like Hilda? Put Elezen ears as an option on the Hyur character creation. Half-Miqote? You can add cat ears and a tail! If your race already comes with those, you can choose which to use. It would let us have half races without having to change the body models needed for gear fitting. Just choose your base race for body style, then add the extras.

Yea theres so many options instead of whole new races. The feol for viera would be amazing. Shorter cuter bunnies.

Sub races would be neat..
But new races I'm against :\ seeing how Viera & especially Hrothgar are treated I just don't think SE are able to pull it off

Still don't get how they boched Viera so badly when au ra went fine... Did they lose the 3rd modeller that made those in the meantime? And at least female Hrothgar should have had no issues since they have a overall normalish head shape and ears comparable to miqo'te.

Like at the worst they could have just let ears clip through everything.

Long ago they (including Koji) actually discussed the introduction of mixed blood ancestry characters, having a slider between two different races. Then they never brought it up again.

Ivalice moogle's the only logical answer. Doesn't get better than that for a lalafel-height "beast" race.

Buff male vieras with high heels please.

Ivalice moogles seem like a good choice.

- Adds a second small race for variety.
- Fairly similar to Lalafells so they wouldn't break the armor system or cutscenes.
- They have a wide range of appearance variation in FFXII so you could make them cute or pretty grubby.
- Seem to be fairly popular in these new race poll threads.

Burmecians are another popular pick and I would like that as well if done right, but you have to keep in mind the armor system can't handle unusual body types. Would you really be okay with Burmecians being added if they looked like this?

Though with Burmecians they could merely drop the strange hands/feet. leaving the head to be the problematic part, which is less of an issue since the devs made hats an issue for... Viera of all things.

Sure, but if they add Burmecians and they're just a Hyur in a rat mask, are they really Burmecians at all?

It would be like if they announced they're adding playable Vanu Vanu, but then they were just this:

Personally I don't see a point in adding a rat people race without their rat features. It would make more sense for the devs to add a race they can more accurately realize instead of adding an extremely lame watered down version of one.

Now if there were a way for them to just turn off foot gear and adapt leg gear to end at the knee without a lot of extra work then perhaps they could make it happen, but I'm not on the dev team so I have no idea how realistic that is. They may also be very apprehensive about disabling any more gear slots after the Viera/Hroth fiasco, especially given that Burmecians would most likely not be able to wear headgear either given their very unique head shape.

I love the Ivalice Moogles and think they would make for an excellent addition!

I could go for a new Hrothgar clan. It could be have more wolf-like heads/faces, and big fluffy tails.

I would love to have a proper reptilian/draconic race from Meracydia, though considering the middling popularity of Hrothgar, they'd never commit to something that's liable to be even less popular.

Would love a half race like Hilda and smaller Viera would be lovely.

No new races till they finish the ones they started, Viera and HRoth still can't use about half the common airstyles, about half the mogstation glams, and a magority of the new gear released every expansion. When we can get the headgear for those sets then we can talk about a new race.

and what is wrong with that lol honestly Its a good thing, someone is just jelly he/she cant afford or doesn't have the skills to make a fursuit. I've been saying since the beginning of my time here that sub races would be a great addition to the game. If we look at Hilda, the Hyurezen, she looks great being a midlander with some elezen features. Having the ability to swap ears/eyes/mouth/nose options or jaw shapes, hempen sets etc between either the main or sub race options would add so much diversity to character creation. As it stands now 99% of players all look generic and recycled.

"Except mine of course, she's unique" - Generic Catguyrls surrounding every Lominsan aetheryte 24/7 while either talking in say chat, or afk with a glowy weapon visible.

Hrothgar was indeed a mistake. We asked for Ronso, not the furry Hunchback of Notre Dame. Not the stubby, rip-off, Walmart version, imposter that rp's as Ronso.

I believe that was the result of a vote - it was left to us... We could get the half-races type stuff... Or we could have Viera. Everyone overwhelmingly voted Viera over the mixed-races as character options... We see what that got us in the end cause everyone wanted their smexy bnuuys.

In all honesty the same thing could be said with Viera... Both races in XIV are inferior to their predecessors.
But people have grown to love them regardless, so all we can ask for is that the developers add more to them so they're up to scratch with the others.

All I want is an Ishgardian Elezen sub race.
