I wish Square Enix/FFXIV fix their payment process.

I'm a player from SEA and I'm tired of trying to find ways to buy or pay this game.

Please allow VISAs from other countries to buy your damn games/subs/store items like you used to. I'm not asking for a SEA server, we don't need that. We just want to be able to PAY SUBSCRIPTIONS and PAY PRE-ORDERS easily without having to find workarounds.

It's 2024, we all want to have the same access as the US/ Europe/ East Asia/ JP, SG and HK countries.

Like y'all have SG and HK on your list but don't freaking have other Asian countries, like wtf. Do you want money or not? LMAO. We can afford things too.

In these situations, it's rarely the business not wanting you as a customer. It's government sticking its nose into things.

Talk to your local government and the Japanese government regarding business relationships between your nations. Get them to change whatever laws or regulations are in the way of SE being able to offer support for the game in your location.

Here's some shocking news you might now know right now. Everyone is with you in this. Even here in the US we can't use our visa bank cards to pay SE to play this game. No one can use their cards. I had to use paypal to buy Crysta for one month just to get into the game for my house. It's ridiculous that they put out this notice saying they're fixing it but it's been months and still this close to Dawntrail some people have NO way to get into their game

You could use a VPN to get an Amazon account and use Amazon Pay and add Crysta (without a VPN this time), but it's clunky.

In most cases I really doubt there are any laws or regulations preventing SE from supporting in currently un-supported countries and regions. At most there are some bureaucratic hoops that need to be jumped through.
No, I dare say it is mostly just SE thinking it is not worth the bother supporting those places. Or even more likely - SE has really f**cked up internal procedures and policies for handling accounts and payments..

I mean... If you think about it... ALL of Square Enix games are available in Malaysia and that includes all of their upcoming games and their gacha mobile games. Except FFXIV.

If SQEX is able to publish this game on China despite its very strict regulations, then why not South East Asia?

I usually buy crysta with my debit when my credit card wouldnt work. Now my debit card doesnt work. I'm glad I bought enough crysta for the next month until SE can get this thing fixed.

SQEX changed payment processors for FFXIV and the store. This has created a myriad of payment issues for many people. Debit cards not working. Having to verify your address and it not matching/being accepted. Not being able to change your country so you cant pay because the addresses don't match is common. Some cards no longer being accepted at all. It is a mess.

There is a huge thread on this somewhere on this forum but this is a fast synopsis.

There has been some relief in that French players will have one of their cards fixed and the NA debit card issue will also be fixed...IN JULY. No word at all to any other players in other regions.

Oh this is ridiculous. This probably affect those who move between countries and still using banks in their previous countries.

If the bank is still in the country they registered the game as and they have an address they can "use" in that country then they are fine. The problem comes in when they move to a new country and change to a bank in the new country. There is no way to change the country you live in with SQEX to reflect the move. So the new bank will never match on the country the game was registered with.

People have in some cases found some workarounds via crysta paid for with Amazon pay or paypal but not everyone has access to those. Honestly there should not be a need for workarounds. No company should make it this hard for customers to give them money.

Theyre very strict for some reason. Im also from SEA. And anytime a new MMO comes out I play it and Ive never encountered one that refused me to pay them.

New World, Lost Ark, World of Warcraft (from back in the days, in 2008 to be exact when things were ancient), GW2 happily accepted my money.

Japanese companies have businesses here too in the PH lmao. I don't think that's a solution. I am not sure why I have to do the most by contacting OUR government who would likely ignore this.

I USED to be able to easily pay and buy stuff in SE website and Mogstation. What I want is SE/FFXIV to return their previous payment process. My friends can't buy Dawntrail coz of the new payment process. I don't have to have to find workarounds to find ways to play this game lmao.

I started another thread about this and keep bumping it up for visibility.

Square really need to have the decency to at least acknowledge the issue.
I've reached out to the data protection in my country of residence (EU) about GDPR rules and 'the right to rectification'.
After some discussion with them I have sent some questions to Square that I am still waiting for a response on.

If anyone is an EU player I strongly recommend you discuss with your local authorities to make sure your rights are being correctly observed.

It's typically only an issue if you have moved countries since creating your account or had to make an account in a region that you were not resident in because your region wasn't supported.
